An-Airidh Bed & Breakfast Portree

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! Absolutely outstanding B&B. Firstly the view from your window is the view of dreams, absolutely takes your breath away! But what I love even more is the thought and care that has gone into ensuring you have everything you need. Wine glasses, tea and coffee, ample charging points, a fridge, a microwave and dishes… I could go on, it’s so convenient! Loved the breakfast being delivered to the room, so easy and it was absolutely delicious, they even had veggie sausages which is important to me! Alan was such a lovely host, nothing was too much trouble and he even provided some recommendations for things to do on a day our boat trip was cancelled! I would recommend this place to absolutely everyone and we can’t wait to return!

We spent 4 wonderful nights at this awesome B&B. We were with another couple, and from the moment we made our reservations until the time we departed, Alan was so attentive and helpful. Our rooms were spotless and spacious and had everything we could possibly want or need. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it. Thank you for all of your hospitality.

Perfect B&B experience on bay front within walking distance to Portree. Breakfast delivered on time each morning to our very comfortable room. Only 2 rooms available here at the time of our stay. Friendly hosts were very helpful and pleasant to interact with, giving us good advice about making reservations for dinner(or face doing takeaway each night), places to visit and where to get our laundry done. Highly recommend this establishment!

I had a wonderful experience with An Airidh! Very clean and quiet and set in a beautiful location. Alan made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. The breakfast was also outstanding.

An Airidh is quite simply perfect. Alan and Alex are the most wonderful hosts, they are friendly and welcoming, and make you feel at home the minute you arrive. If you are very lucky, you'll get to meet Oatie the dog, he is gorgeous! The house is within easy walking distance of the centre of Portree where there is a great selection of cafes and restaurants as well as some lovely shops. Our room was beautiful with the most amazing view, we absolutely loved sitting at the window at the end of the evening watching the wildlife, a glass of wine may also have been involved. The room and ensuite were spotless and comfortable, with everything you need for your stay, including a microwave for those who fancy a bit of self catering. You'll enjoy a delicious breakfast, delivered to your room each morning. There is a lovely selection of continental and cooked options to choose from - particular treats were the Stornoway Black Pudding and the fabulous home made porridge. A special mention has to go to Alan. His knowledge of the island meant that we visited places we didn't realise were there, his recommendations made a wonderful holiday even better. And he has so many fabulous stories to tell ! Alan and Alex have created a special place at An Airidh, it truly is a little piece of Paradise.

Staying here feels more like visiting old friends than going to a hotel. The hosts are the nicest, friendliest, and most professional B&B hosts I've ever encountered. We just stayed here for the second time, and I think that any future visits to Skye would START with checking for availability at An Airidh and then structuring our trip dates around that. The location is absolutely perfect. An amazing view out the window of the water, town, and the island and peninsulas across the way. It's a very short drive or reasonable walk from there to downtown Portree. Portree itself is the ideal base for spending several days (or more) exploring all that Skye has to offer. The room is well maintained and well appointed. Nothing is dirty or worn out - you feel like you're the first guest ever to set foot in the room. There are lots of little extras - a set of binoculars by the window, some dishes and dish soap to facilitate takeout or grocery meals a prefilled water bottle. The room is quiet and peaceful and quite spacious. The breakfast is absolutely delicious with a variety of options to choose from. As an introvert, I prefer the "room service" model of breakfast that they've adopted post-Covid over the more traditional "dine at the kitchen table with other guests" approach. I can not recommend An Airidh highly enough.

The view from the room is so special! Alan was the perfect host, warmly welcoming us with lots of helpful info. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. We were brought a delicious breakfast on a tray each morning (which I could get used to!), and they left plates and cutlery so that we could eat our own lunch or dinner in our room if we wished to. We easily walked into the main town multiple times so the location is ideal. Lots of parking, and a lovely big garden with benches facing on to the water. Would definitely recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay at this amazing BnB. Alan, the host was incredibly. So kind and gave great suggestions for managing our plans around the crowds and weather. The breakfast in the room was wonderful and he was so attentive to our questions and requests. The view from the room was spectacular. If we're ever in Portree again, we'd love to return.

On arrival we had a lovely warm welcome from Alan and he explained everything about our stay so clearly. We were absolutely mesmerised with the most beautiful view from our window, we saw the Eagle and possibly a seal! Our bed was so comfortable, everything in the room was spotlessly clean and they had thought of everything we might need for our stay, even plates & cutlery should we wish to have a take away or use the microwave. So good to have a fridge too! Our breakfast was delivered with a cheerful good morning from Alan and was absolutely delicious, especially the porridge! Alan is so helpful with information about Skye! Priceless! We wished we were staying longer it was sad to leave! We will definitely recommend to all our friends. Thank you Alan & Alex for sharing your beautiful home. A little piece of heaven on Skye.
