Had a brilliant stay! The service was spot on, and all the staff were lovely and so helpful. A massive shout-out to the boy anf lady who helped us carry our luggage up to the top floor and down to the ground the check-out day! The dinner was proper Scottish fare and we absolutely loved it. Top notch! The view was stunning as well. There's a massive lake behind the hotel (for fishing, I assume?). We completely fell in love with the scene, especially when the sun was shining on it. The only slight downside was a bit of a damp, musty smell in our room. But that was the only minor blip on a fantastic trip!

Two nights for 11,000 yuan, averaging 5,500 yuan per night! False advertising + safety hazards + no privacy whatsoever. Don't book! Demand the platform remove it! Two nights for a total of 11,000 yuan, averaging 5,500 yuan per night! This exorbitant price doesn't even cover basic accommodation, safety, privacy, or service. It's pure exploitation. I urge everyone to avoid this trap! 1. Deliberately concealing the building location, false advertising, and no room privacy. Ctrip and the official website only show beautiful pictures of the main building, without indicating that you will be assigned to the annex building, deliberately misleading consumers. The annex building room has absolutely no privacy: the main entrance faces the main corridor, allowing passersby to see the door directly; the entire door is a glass panel, leading directly into the bedroom; the curtains are poorly designed and cannot be fully closed, offering a completely unobstructed view of the room. There is absolutely no sense of privacy, unworthy of a high-end hotel. 2. Major Safety Hazard, Building-Wide Problem All four rooms on the podium floor have the same issue: turning on the hot water in the bathroom immediately triggers the fire alarm. This isn't an isolated malfunction; it's a design flaw throughout the building. Showering requires forcibly closing the bathroom door, causing constant anxiety and a complete lack of safety. 3. Untrustworthy Service, Poor Training, Chaotic and Negligence On the first day, a complaint was made to the front desk, and a promise was made to transfer staff to the main building the next day. However, the next day, there was no handover at the front desk, and no one knew about the promise, demonstrating a complete lack of credibility and integrity. The restaurant service was even more outrageous. A waiter mistakenly brought food from the next table to our table, indicating a complete lack of professional training and a chaotic service process. The bathrooms were extremely dirty!!! 4. Low Staff Quality Maintenance personnel handled the fire alarm by stepping on the guest room benches with their shoes on, then failing to clean up or apologize afterward, displaying a complete lack of hygiene and professionalism. 5. Extremely chaotic management, indiscriminately accepting tour groups. Despite claiming to be a high-end hotel, it arbitrarily accepts large tour groups for banquets, resulting in the restaurant being booked entirely by tour groups. Individual guests have no proper dining space, and the environment is noisy and disruptive, completely ruining the stay experience. 6. Dysanthemum-aged facilities, extremely poor maintenance. The room decor and facilities are old and damaged, and maintenance is perfunctory. The facilities are completely unworthy of the exorbitant price of 5500 yuan per night. 7. Disorganized and low-class surrounding environment. The building is adjacent to a renovated old farmhouse area, with tractors, farm machinery, and tools haphazardly piled up in the open. The environment is dirty, messy, and incongruous, with extremely irregular management, lacking any high-end hotel style. We strongly urge Ctrip to thoroughly investigate this hotel, immediately remove it from the listings for rectification, and prevent it from further deceiving consumers with false advertising!

The historic building, dating back to around 1850, was once owned by Ronald McDonald (before he went to America to make his fortune), and it's absolutely beautiful. The facilities inside are also very good; the heating, hot water, and bedding are all great. Dinner is delicious, and aside from being a bit pricey, there's nothing wrong with it. Located by the lake, it's a 10-minute drive from Portry, and there aren't many other restaurants nearby, so it's best suited for those driving themselves. The kids didn't want to leave. However, Ctrip is really unprofessional. I booked a family suite (two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a bunk bed) for two adults and one child, and their booking page insisted that I had to pay a £75 extra bed fee upon arrival. I contacted Ctrip, but their customer service couldn't explain it at all, and after two days of back and forth, they still told me I had to pay. In fact, this never happened at check-in or check-out.

A good hotel, but the price is three times higher than similar ones. Accordingly, I do not recommend it, it is not clear why such an overprice. The extractor fan in the bathroom works like a tractor, there is no shelf in the shower and a flexible hose for the shower - especially the shelf surprised, a penny thing. The fireplace did not burn, and this adds coziness.

The food needs to be improved, with few choices. The overall cost performance is low, and the extra bed is 150 pounds a day, which is a bit expensive.

Although the location is average...but the environment is very satisfactory and surprising, I will definitely consider coming again if I have the opportunity!
