You get tired of the sun even in the shadow, so you enjoy the room at noon. Hotel is mainly for family couples and families with children. Some parents pay for children's surfing lessons here because compared to other beaches here, the soft wave is not deep. The surfing board can be rented here at the hotel. Another plus hotel - there are no sellers of all kinds. The lying vacationers are closely monitored. "As an experienced business and leisure traveller, I was very disappointed with this hotel, which is definitely not five star. The rooms are shabby and very few of the staff are properly trained or can understand English. We booked a Delux and were given a damp dark room in the basement with a caterpillar in the shower. We insisted on changing rooms but the only available room was a suite (a nice spacious room with private pool) which cost us an additional $100. The buffet was ok, with some good Indian options, but not outstanding or very extensive. Front desk staff were generally unfriendly and did not make us feel welcome. I do not recommend staying here unless you can get a huge discount and are happy with a mediocre hotel."

"The staff and the Hotel manager are so helpful and supportive. They are always smiling and they are so friendly. I feel like staying at my own house. The meals and the breakfast are amazing. I would recommend fried calamari, pasta with jumbo prawns, seasonal salad , all of them are so delicious . If you really like bouitique hotel concept and uniqe friendly environment, this hotel is the best choice for you"

"We were first given a room with a view on the bar and swimming pool, just next to the second floor open terrace which was awful in terms of privacy. Fortunately we were changed to a room on the far East of the old building and the view as fantastic.. the room was old but well maintained. The problem was the terrace door was not sound proof and we learnt at night how bothersome it would be. Because you see, our room was just above the restaurant that gives directly to the sea where waves crash on the rocks. Impossible to have a quiet night. Light sleepers better choose a room in the swimming pool area. Food was ok. Service as everywhere in SriLanka was slow and not very responsive. You had to ask twice for hot water or something. We expected more for a 5 stars. We tried the restaurant next to the spa on our last night and service was great there. The pizza at the pizza restaurant next to the pool was very good. Location of the hotel was great, a 5 min by tuktuk to the castle. Unfortunately, everything was almost perfect until the day we left. We realized the hotel has a monopoly on all the taxi and tuktuk that come and leave the hotel. As I couldn't book a car on Uber or kangaroo cab, we just asked a driver who just dropped a group of people if we could hire him and he was ok but the hotel staff interrupted us and sent him away because they asked us to choose from their drivers which was completely absurd. We insisted on using this driver so they entered in a negotiation with the driver to get a cut on the fees. Apparently these are common practices in 5 star hotels. A total mafia style management. Outrageous. And in the hotel room, you have a biography of the founder that highlight his ambition to highlight Sri Lankan hospitality. I encourage him to take a look in the mirror. For that I would not recommend this place, especially during winter vacation when prices are half a grand for 2 nights!"

"A completely unexpected small villa with two big bed bedrooms. The landlord said that there is a small bedroom that can be sorted out but we don't need it. There is a living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and a large swimming pool at the door (that is, the water is not very clean and can swim), and the photos are beautiful. There are also BBQ and spa rooms that we are useless. The overall exceeded expectations. Although there were some episodes when I checked in, it did not affect the sense of use of this villa. There is a nanny who can make dinner, but I am still not very suitable for local curry. If you like it, you can try the nanny's dinner, which is more than 200 rmb for a meal. The landlord specially prepared dumplings and was very touched. He said that we were the first Chinese family he received! "A beautiful villa, lived in a room with a bathtub(as they position with a personal pool(total bath+shower), but it didn't use it, we were given it allegedly an appreciation from a luxurious house with a shower.
