Progreso Beach Hotel

I do want to preface this by saying we visited Progreso during the off season and we are not fluent Spanish speakers. We arrived to our hotel and despite paying for an ocean view, the ocean was almost completely blocked by the museum. The towels had stains on them, the water was very weak (I suspect the shower head needs a good deep clean) and it stayed hot for less than 10 minutes. When I inquired about getting a toured booked, the manager said he couldn't call anyone and simply pointed to a direction where a tour business was located. They did not speak English despite what it says on their page. We checked out early.

We arrived at the hotel early and they did allow us to park the vehicle in one of the 4 parking spots that the hotel provides. They did not allow us to check in early. At 3 when we did get checked in, the first room had a host of problems including doors that didn't lock, ceiling fans that only worked on high speed, a refrigerator that didn't work and the list goes on. We had to fight the front staff to get moved to a different room, because they kept telling us once you have entered a room, it is yours. We finally got moved to a second room after approximately 30 minutes of arguing with the staff. The second room was on the 3rd floor with no elevators. There was no supplies in the kitchen, but we were greeted by one of Mexico's finest cockroaches. Around 9:30 p.m. they showed up with 2 plates, 2 bowls and 2 coffee cups, no silverware. There is not a coffee maker, stove or anything else in the kitchen, so no idea why they bothered. Would recommend staying anywhere else besides here.

Great stay at this hotel. It is one block from the beach and right beside an OXXO that has great coffee for $27pesos The hotel staff were all very friendly. My room included a large refrigerator but no other kitchen appliances. This property is a block from the malecón and walking distance to a local market/food court and the Chedraui Would highly recommend.

I asked for 1 night refund and was told to speak with ******* by property Management named Cielo. When asked she said I had to speak with *******. Then Cielo claimed I ruined her sheets with a red stain I didn’t She told me she wanted 250 prsos to clean the sheets and then she would submit my request to *******! Staff at the desk were unfriendly and not accommodating. Cockroaches iin my room I have photos… No restaurant or laundry as advertised on the ******* site. Never did get my refund! I stayed for a month would not recommend booking with Rxpedia or staying in this hotel. They are liars.
