We returned from this lovely hotel on 30 October, coming to the end of the season. We didn’t get the wow factor on arrival as you’d expect from a 5* hotel and, when we were taken to our room 402, inland view, my heart sank when we went to the balcony to see a view of the bins from the restaurant belonging to the hotel; shielding the awful sight with orning/canopy would make such a difference. The glass on the balcony is frosted, so when seated you don’t see them. We called down to reception to change rooms and they told us not to unpack but to speak to reception in the morning. The ladies on reception the next day offered a ground floor inland view (which would have been worse) or a sea view at €40 per night. We took the sea view and, from then on, had a fab holiday. This hotel has some lovely touches; full complimentary minibar on arrival, sandwiches left for us as we were late arriving, voucher for lunch to be used anytime and chocolates delivered to your room at 6.00 pm. We loved the dine-around option and went to all the restaurants, which were fab, with the exception of the Greek. We did find the food to be lukewarm warm in the buffet so we were glad to have other options. Adults only and allocated sunbeds was our main reason for booking this hotel; the beds were so comfy. If you’re not happy with your allocation you can easily change, although peak season it might be different. We loved the location of this hotel; 10 minutes walk to the busy strip with an array of cocktail bars, rooftop restaurants and tribute acts or the peace and tranquility of the hotel. You can walk to the busy fig tree bay beach to the left of the boardwalk or one of three stunning small beaches with loungers to right. You really do have the best of both worlds. The average temperature was 27 and the aircon was not great, and quite noisy, not sure this would be sufficient peak season. As we had a late flight home, we paid to keep our room; €60 to 4.00 pm and €90 until 6.00 pm. We felt this hotel to be a 4*plus. Having stayed at the Amavi in Paphos, they don’t compare but, then again, we paid more for the Amavi. Would we stay again? possibly, but 100% would have to have a sea view!
