Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel

Our family of eight (including grandparents and teenagers) spent four nights at Finch Bay before boarding our Lindblad expedition cruise, and it exceeded every expectation. The experience actually began months before we arrived. We had already booked our Lindblad cruise and were considering their pre-cruise extension for convenience. After researching other options, Finch Bay stood out, and working with Carolina Escobar made the decision easy. She was responsive, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive throughout the planning process. Her communication gave us complete confidence before we ever stepped foot on the island. Once we arrived, Alfonso took over and made us feel like VIPs. He was genuinely one of the highlights of our stay. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, especially for my older mother and father-in-law. His kindness, patience, and attention to detail never went unnoticed. In fact, every member of the Finch Bay team was warm, professional, and eager to help. The level of hospitality was truly flawless. We purchased a package that included airport transportation, and we are so glad we did. From the moment we landed, every transfer was seamless and stress-free, allowing us to simply enjoy the experience. The package also included the kayaking and Sea Lion excursion, both of which were fantastic. These extras added tremendous value and made our stay at Finch Bay even more memorable. The hotel itself is beautiful, peaceful, and the perfect place to unwind before or after an expedition. We absolutely loved spending afternoons by the pool with a cocktail in hand. Speaking of cocktails...don't leave without ordering the Coconut Paloma. It may be one of the best drinks we've ever had! While beverages aren't included in the meal package, they were very reasonably priced and absolutely worth it. We also chose the all-inclusive dining package and would do it again without hesitation. Every lunch and dinner featured a thoughtfully prepared three-course menu with two choices for each course. If nothing appealed to us, we could order from the regular menu (with only a few exceptions), giving us plenty of flexibility. The quality of the food was outstanding, and every meal became something we looked forward to. Our teenagers preferred ordering from the regular menu each time, so the package probably wasn't as worthwhile for them, but for the adults, it was an excellent value. Finch Bay provided the perfect introduction to the Galápagos. Between the exceptional service, outstanding food and drinks, beautiful property, thoughtful excursions, and seamless coordination with our Lindblad cruise, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We would recommend Finch Bay without hesitation.

Beyond the incredible location on Santa Cruz Island—complete with a complimentary boat shuttle to town—it is hard to put into words just how charming and attentive the staff is; they truly notice and care for every guest. The rooms are luxurious, and the setting is magical. Thanks to the hotel's activities, we were able to see all 15 of the island's marine species; we were absolutely overjoyed and awestruck by the stunning nature we witnessed. The food is wonderful, and the pool is perfect. There is also a beautiful gym and an impressive spa. We were truly sad to leave.

Our stay at Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel was absolutely outstanding and exceeded every expectation. We chose to experience the Galápagos from a luxury land base rather than staying on a cruise, and it was honestly one of the best decisions we made. Over five days, we completed four full day yacht excursions and one land excursion to the Santa Cruz Highlands to see the giant tortoises. We still experienced an incredible variety of Galápagos wildlife while returning each afternoon to the comfort of this beautiful hotel. For anyone considering whether to stay on a cruise or on land, Finch Bay offers the best of both worlds. The yacht excursions were exceptionally well organised. We were impressed that the same boat crew looked after us throughout all four expeditions, and every member of the team was professional, friendly, and incredibly helpful. Our naturalist guides were all fantastic, with a special thank you to Valentino, whose knowledge, enthusiasm, and passion for the Galápagos made each excursion even more memorable. Back at the hotel, the hospitality was equally outstanding. A heartfelt thank you to Alfonso and Fernanda, who were always so warm, welcoming, and happy to help with anything we needed. The dining experience was another highlight. Breakfast offered an excellent buffet each morning, and every dinner was delicious. A special thank you to Joanna and Ingeborg, who took such wonderful care of us throughout our stay. They were incredibly accommodating of my dietary requirements and did so with genuine kindness and attention to detail, which I greatly appreciated. We were also fortunate to receive a complimentary room upgrade midway through our stay, allowing us to experience two different room categories. The Evolution Rooms are noticeably more modern, but both rooms were immaculately clean, peaceful, and extremely comfortable. We slept wonderfully every night. Thank you to everyone at Finch Bay for such an unforgettable stay. From the outstanding staff and delicious food to the beautifully organised excursions and peaceful surroundings, every aspect of our visit was exceptional. We would not hesitate to return and highly recommend Finch Bay to anyone wanting to experience the Galápagos from a luxury land based hotel.

The hotel is beautiful, very comfortable. Breakfast is excellent!! The staff is very friendly and provided all information we needed. Just one thing may be a little better. On the cruise ship I felt we had a better internet ( wifi) than at the hotel. But nothing disturbing… Overall a great experience

We absolutely loved our stay at Finch Bay . It came at the end of a 6 day Galapagos Cruise which was also great but really lovely to spend time on land . Loved the complimentary excursions to Tortuga bay , a nature walk and star gazing . Food was good and the complimentary water taxi to the main town worked really well . All the staff were really good - particularly Alfonso and Endique and also thanks to Melissa for helping us book and providing lots of information before our stay .

Finch Bay was fabulous - we booked all excursions through the hotel. The Sea Lion boat and crew were fantastic. We also used the spa facilities and had amazing massages. This is an excellent spot for families or honeymooners - the hotel is quite small so it never feels crowded.
