This used to be the La Cumbre hotel and had been looking somewhat tired for several years. Now the hotel has a fresh new look thanks to Ramada. Only opened early June 2022 and despite a few teething problems with new staff being trained when we were there I am glad we chose this hotel. Perfect location centre of resort, 10 mins walk to the beach shops restaurants. Just be aware after a night out you have to walk back uphill. Can be a bit tiring. Many thanks to the staff who found one of bags left behind.

Arrived earlier than the 2pm stated on the booking. Staff couldn't have been friendlier and allowed us to check in early. This was great as it meant we could leave bags in the room. The lady on reception was very helpful and talked me through everything. The hotel was bright, airy and very clean. There is a lift, so don't worry if you have baggage. Key entry rooms, keypad inside the room to activate lights and air conditioning. The first thing that struck me again was the cleanliness, bathroom was exceptionally clean too. Beds felt like they had a memory foam matress, very comfortable. Good sized balcony with a sea view and pool view too. I went to the pool which was well maintained, clean and the water was an ideal temperature. Overall I would thoroughly recommend Hotel Playasol, I will be returning when I'm visiting Bolnuevo next from my property inland.

Firstly we would not say this is a 4 star hotel, possibly a 2 star however, we paid €60 per night (plus €15 per night parking) in mid July for a double room on the 6th floor and we thought it was good value for money. The good things first, staff were exceptionally friendly with the front desk always manned. Our room was large and airy with good air con and the bed very large and comfortable. Location is perfect for the town centre which is a 10 to 15 minute stroll away. Things to improve on …. The allocated hotel spaces in the underground parking are exceptionally tight - if you have a car bigger than a Ford Focus you will probably struggle to park here. Despite exchanging emails on different subjects before our visit they never told us that improvement work was being carried out on the hotel; you don’t even get told on your check in - there is just a sign in the lift. Consequently, when we were woken up in the morning at 9am with the sound of jack hammers we were not impressed. Our room on the top (6th) floor was very dated and certainly looked nothing like the rooms shown on their websites. The double glazing had no effect in stopping outside street noises especially the street sweeper at 6 am. The bathroom is not vented nor has an openable window, there are no cups or glasses of any type supplied in the room; free tea and coffee is available in the foyer. There is no bar or restaurant in the ‘4 star’ hotel though a continental breakfast can be purchased. So, would we go back or recommend this hotel - strangely yes if the price stays the same and they complete the renovations.

We have undertaken an extensive refurbishment recently and the apartment now boasts a state of the art luxury kitchen with built in fridge freezer, oven and microwave, lots of cupboard space, induction hob with extractor over and granite worktops. The living room has new dining table and chairs, two comfy sofas with foot rests, 47” Hd tv incorporating firestick, Uk and Spanish tv channels, Dvd player and cd/radio. In the main bedroom is a new queen size double bed, matching headboard and bedside cabinets, all new from April. By Summer of 2024 a complete bathroom refurb is planned with walk in shower, non slip floor tiles and other luxury fittings. The main attraction though is still the location, quiet but close to all amenities and with the best view of the Bay of Mazarron in Puerto.Puerto de Mazarron is a little Spanish jewel, still barely known by holidaymakers from the Uk, though that has been changing over time as the word has spread! The Spanish people love it here but they only come in numbers in July and August, mainly from Madrid, so the rest of the year is busy but not over-busy. Known to ex-pats as “the Port”, Puerto has a fantastic range of beaches, enough cafe bars and restaurants so you can eat somewhere different every night if you wish and lots of activities locally including wind surfing, scuba diving (several schools), jet skis, tennis, rambling, golf etc.Not too far away are the cities of Cartagena and Murcia with great shopping, water park, zoo, museums and lots of historical sites from the Roman ruins up to the recent past.We offer free Wifi during your stay!

This comes with poolside changing rooms and toilets, there is also a life guard on duty during the high season.Outside the master bedroom in the small terrace area there are 2 sun loungers for use by the pool. There are 2 beach chairs and umbrella for you to take to the beach.Inside there are 2 double bedrooms, a fully fitted kitchen along with the Wifi available at cost and a TV linked up for English and Spanish programs. There is also a DVD player and a selection of Dvds for you to use during your stay.You do not need to carry cumbersome bottles for water as there is a drinking water tap in the kitchen.For your use there is also a safe available.There is a free, secure allocated garage space available for the duration of your stay and the building is surrounded by 24/7 manned security cameras.The property is located only 12 minutes walk to the lovely beaches of Puerto de Mazarron with its many restaurants, bars, shops, indoor market and large open market each Sunday.The beaches, of which there are several, are cleaned every day and most are serviced by beach bars and cafes which offer either snacks or more exotic meals. Whether you want burgers or paella there is a restaurant to suit your tastes and eating out here is quite inexpensive.Within a short walk of the apartment there are several restaurants and bars before you even get near the sea front with a variety of Indian, Chinese and Italian to choose from. Within 7 minutes walk there are all the supermarkets, Aldi, Lidl, Consum, Mercadona and now we have the new Tesco overseas shop where you can get all your favourites. Positive: The hotel has a beautiful ”old atmosphere”. Most of the general space on the first floor (where we stayed) I personally found very atmosphereally decorated. The hotel room itself was also applied to the ”sphere”. Lifts in place. Free parking on the street. Great tram connection to the centre of Granada (20 minutes) Good breakfast/lunch restaurant next to the hotel! Improvements: Unfortunately, in our room only high windows without view. There were no lamps in the bed lamps, so only a large light in the room. The bathroom has a problem with fungi in kitnadens, which is a very big deal, and I hope that something will be done soon! There was no reception staff behind the check-out bar. We sounded the clock twice and waited a while. Then the key was put through the lock in the screen. (Payment was already arranged).
