"The check in was smooth, the staff are friendly and accommodating, and I felt safe in the hotel which requires an access code to enter the premises. The Diamante premium suite was huge, as well as the balcony, which had the best view of any room at the hotel, and the reason why I chose it. My hotel room was actually too big for a solo traveler. The room had a large bed but my feet would overhang a bit, it was almost if the bed was turned the incorrect way. The bathroom was small and it took some time for the water to get warm. The room had a small open closet and a small kitchen with a fridge that was handy. The couch was useful to relax and read, while I did not use the large TV hanging from the ceiling. The air conditioner was quiet, and did work well, as a few times over the course of the night I woke up to being too cold, and would need to set the night time temperature to 25. The location is in a great spot, close to restaurants, Playa Principal and the Night Market! Now onto the negatives… there was a Mexican mariachi band parading in front of the hotel nearly every day, then continued to play at the church across the street that was so loud, I could not spend the afternoon relaxing at the hotel pool. It was festival season, so what sounded like a shotgun being fired outside on the street of the hotel, was actually these insanely loud canister shell fireworks (sounds like artillery shells) and they would go off at all hours of the day and night! On Saturday at 1:30AM, I was awoken to these canister shell fireworks that would go off every minute, followed by the mariachi band that started playing at 1:45AM! The brief silence I had ceased when the church started into song at 6:45AM and kept going when I left for breakfast at 8:30AM. On my last morning, the canister shell fireworks blasted at 5AM, while the church bells were being manually hammered upon! My first two nights I had a great sleep, on the last two nights, one of the worst sleeps I have had while travelling. I value comprehensive reviews, and the time required to invest in helping others search for quality hotel stays. "Excellent service and location, but the facilities are somewhat dated and the spaces are uncomfortable. It smells musty, and there was a cockroach in the bathroom of my room. There are many stairs to go down to get to the beach, so it's not recommended if you're traveling with elderly people."
