Amazing place in the Amazon!!! We came as a family of 5, kids ages 6-12. Location is incredible, right on the river, amazing views. Truly feel being in the jungle. Staff was so friendly and helpful - especially Leo! Tours were great. We did day and night walking tour, night boat ride, kayaking, and more. Truly personalized attention. We stayed in the big family home with 3 bedrooms. Very spacious and nice. Not luxury, but had everything we needed. Would highly recommend!

Fabulous! Very spacious rooms with mosquito net-covered balconies to enjoy the outside, truly comfortable bedding (essential after a day in the rainforest!), fantastic river views and outdoor seating / hammocks and lounge chairs to enjoy a cocktail, a colpa right downstairs to watch the macaws and parrots feed in the morning, good food and exceptionally attentive and friendly staff who helped us customise our activities list and coordinate transport. A truly excellent place to enjoy a trip in the rainforest region.

Our family’s stay at Sotupa Eco Lodge was truly exceptional. Nestled along the Tambopata River, the lodge offers a perfect blend of comfort and nature. The accommodations, including spacious bungalows and a two-story family cabin, feature private terraces with stunning river views. The service was outstanding—every member of the team made us feel welcomed and well cared for. Daily activities such as guided jungle walks, kayaking, and birdwatching allowed us to fully experience the incredible biodiversity of the Amazon. Meals were a highlight, with buffet breakfasts and delicious à la carte lunches and dinners that reflected local Peruvian flavors. The kitchen also offers vegetarian and vegan options, which we truly appreciated. Amenities like the outdoor pool, hammocks, and relaxing common areas made it easy to unwind between adventures. We were also impressed by the lodge’s commitment to sustainability and its eco-friendly approach. A heartfelt thank you to the entire Sotupa team for making our stay so memorable. The property itself is very well built we were surprised we had no issues with bugs inside the room! The view from our room was great also. This was our first time in PM so we didn’t know what to expect, but thought there would be more things to do there for what we paid. We also thought there would be some wild life around! We didn’t see much of anything besides some birds! Luckily there is a wild life sanctuary 5 minute walk from the lodge that allows visual tours of their monkeys for $80 soles. Expect lots of deep mud everywhere! We were there in April which is their dry season but it did rain some every day. The tours “included” with the lodge were sub par and we could have done without. Best day we had was some piranha fishing that we paid extra for and someone came and picked us up 👌 Food was also very bland and not great, they have a set menu/surprise menu each day for the meals and they ring a bell when that food is ready. We found ourselves hungry during the day waiting for that bell 😂, they do have a separate food menu you could pay extra for but was pricey and the town was a good distance away to go get your own snacks/food. Overall it was a relaxing experience as it forces you to slow down… was okay for the end of our very busy Perú trip! Hope this review helps!

We're just back from a wonderful stay at Sotupa Eco Lodge. From the moment of booking we found the communication to be excellent, and we were able to pre-arrange meals to fit our vegan diet for our entire stay, as well as arrange transfers to and from the airport. Upon arrival we were given a warm welcome, and we were taken back by the beautiful location of the lodge. The surroundings are breathtaking and you feel immersed into the nature of the rainforest from the moment you arrive. The room was clean and spacious with a large comfortable bed. It looked out onto the garden and the majestic Tambopata River. The cost of the booking included 3 meals per day, and every meal we had was made with deliciously fresh ingredients and a fine example of Peruvian and Amazonian cuisine. The various activities were run by knowledgeable and friendly staff, all of whom are a credit to Sotupa, and helped make our stay extra special. I would highly recommend staying here!

We spent three nights at this wonderful lodge and had the most amazing time. We had a fabulous room with a large veranda overlooking the river. The room was very large and airy with a very big comfy bed. Beautifully furnished in a traditional style. We were full board so had breakfast (buffet style)with lunch snd dinner. These meals were incredible. Wonderful locally sourced ingredients catering for vegetarians and GF. Meals were always three courses and after a full day's sightseeing, much appreciated. The staff were caring, accommodating and very proud of their business (as they should be). It was great to chill at the bar with a Pisco sour or a cold beer chatting with fellow guests. A big shout out to our wonderful guide Ivan who took us on all the inclusive trips. Can I suggest a visit to the local animal sanctuary where the staff work tirelessly taking care of injured animals etc. We felt very humbled after visiting . This experience was truly amazing, great value and we made some great friends along the way. Do not hesitate to book.

Sotupa Eco Lodge has been a highlight of our South American adventure. While the lodge is beautiful it's the staff that make it a truly unforgettable experience. Each and every staff member was wonderful! We enjoyed all the activities, particularly kayaking down the river. Our guide, Cero, was awesome, he was both attentive and knowledgeable. Meals at the lodge are healthy and tasty, we especially enjoyed the fresh juices served with each meal and the delicious passionfruit mousse, thank you to Chef Alan who made each meal special and even sang for us on our last night! Thank you to the manager George for going out of his way to help make our stay memorable. We left feeling rested and with many wonderful memories, we hope to one day come back

Great place to have an adventure, rest and just enjoy nature. Location is excellent, very close to the airport so you get to the lodge in less than 30 minutes. The manager and each staff member are just great and will make you feel like a home away from home. They are willing to help you and will tell you many stories. It is a fairly small lodge but you have everything you may need including all three meals cooked specially for you and they will ask for your food restrictions and allergies to accomodate everyone. They offer several activities like bird watching very early in the morning, river navigation, night walk through the forest, morning walk to explore the vegetation, kayak or paddle down the Tambopatsa river, etc. They also have a small pool to relax and refresh. Sunrise and Sunset are spectacular and worth waking up early and staying by the river in the afternoon. If you stay long enough, there are other activities outside of Sotupa Eco Lodge. At walking distance you can visit the Amazon Shelter, where they rescue animal to retunr them to nature. You would love to take an excursion to Lake Sandovel (full day trip) and maybe even go to the city of Puerto Maldonado to visit the market and have some local food (don't miss the river fish and the cecina). Cabins are comfortable according to the location (don´t forget you are in the middle of the Amazon Rainforest and within the Tambopata National Reserve). I went there with family and we had a great time doing all kinds of activities and just enjoying the views and the sounds of the amazon. I haven't had such relaxing sleep for quite a while... We all wanted to stay longer.
