Velas Vallarta Suite Resort All-Inclusive

We upgraded to the Family Suite of three bedrooms, two bathrooms. Every single service person we encountered on the property greeted us with a smile. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. You are right on the ocean. The beach restaurant is excellent and has nightly entertainment with an exceptional vocalist as well as dancers and gymnasts. The on site sit down restaurant had the best gourmet food I have ever had for three meals daily. There is 24 hour room service available as well. The pools were very clean and heated well. The Kids Club had a variety of well thought out and executed activities for all age groups. The kiddie pool was very safe. There was a live Aladdin show while we were there that was so enjoyable for all, then activities after. The daily housekeeping as well as the unit being stocked daily with snacks and beverages was also exceptional.

Room was clean and well maintained. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The mixology drink cart and bar provided a great variety of options. The restaurants had excellent food, fresh and tasty. I would avoid the Asian night and highly recommend the gourmet Mexican and Italian themed nights. I really loved this quaint and charming resort with beautiful grounds and gardens.

Starting in the morning with a beautiful fresh tropical, breakfast buffet, and then moving to the pool/ocean chairs for the day, which were very very comfortable, the staff was always attentive to our needs, where we would order multiple drinks and lunch poolside, I highly recommend the shrimp cocktail!!! each night was a different theme and we enjoyed every single one of them. We love the mariachi band that was there twice while we were there and to top it all off the tropical animals that roamed the property were always so fun to watch even the little stray kitty cats kept the kids entertained. The only thing that I would suggest is a coffee stand for us night owl an early risers, they do make the best cappuccino’s and lattes!!

Spent 4 nights, 5 days with my husband and two tween/teen sons. We loved the pools, the rooms, the beds/pillows, the staff was amazing, the drinks, and the kids loved the pool side food (wings, chicken strips, pizza, burgers). As far as the rest of the menu, breakfast was decent, but dinner was lacking in my opinion. The reservation only dinner option (Andreas) doesn't know how to season meat, fish, etc properly. The flavor was sorely lacking. On Asian night, they put orange sauce on EVERYTHING (ahi tuna, grilled white fish, Coconut shrimp, and Short Ribs, and mixed just soy sauce into their noodles). Even though the steaks at the other restaurant were cooked perfectly, there was no steak seasoning. Only salt and pepper... our family prefers a bit more culinary art. We would most likely come back as the majority of the experience was excellent, but for this price point, I would expect a higher caliber of skill in the kitchens.

This was our first time at Velas Vallarta. We have stayed at other similar resorts in different parts of Mexico over the last few years hands-down our family agreed this was the best resort yet we upgraded to a three bedroom family suite for a very reasonable cost upon check-in. The staff were all fantastic. The room was spotless and well appointed. The pool area was also spotless with nice furniture and more than adequate towels and service. I had read a number of reviews about the food prior to going. There are two restaurants included in the all-inclusive. We ate at both of them. The buffet food is average. It is not bad at all, there are simply limited selections, but there is fresh fruit, salads, and other good food available. The à la carte options are excellent and you can order off the menu anytime of day. We had incredible à la carte, breakfast, lunches, and dinners. Some highlights were short rib, tacos, and fresh fish tacos, ribeye steaks in the evening as well as pork back ribs, and seafood gumbo. Of all of the resorts we have stayed at our family, agrees that we want to come back to this one, the overall experience, the friendliness of the staff, and the general vibe of the place are special. The grounds are spotless and incredible, there are Koi fish rivers scattered throughout, and you can feed the fish with food purchased from the shop. The plants are beautiful and well tended. The three pools are fantastic and clean and connected via a lazy river.

The staff is very attentive. I was asked if I had everything I needed multiple times throughout my stay. Very family friendly and only a 18 minute walk from a little marina if you want to try different restaurants or go on a stroll outside of the resort. I will say it’s a little annoying that guests place towels on pool chairs as early as 7am to ‘hold’ them even though they’re not using them. By 9am, every pool chair is pretty much taken.

The one bedroom suite was delightful. Staff members were friendly and attentive. A good variety of food available all day, delicious. Lots of daily activities and pools were nice. We will return again next year.
