Hotel Sonar Bangla Puri

Worst hospitality ever. Checkout time was 8AM (Strange timing) their breakfast opens at 8AM as well, now how do I check out? The receptionist literally fought with us and laughed sarcastically her name was Pooja. She said do whatever you can we will throw your luggage out of the hotel. I filled a consumer forum application against this hotel and specifically this lady

Really good location. The waitstaff, reception, cleaning staff were really polite and prompt. Overall the place was really warm and inviting. The rooftop cafe has amazing food. Especially the pastries. ( mango pastry 🥹🥹) The restaurant being in the basement is a slight inconvenience but the food made up for it.

Overall stay in puri was good. The hotel was also good. But the service was very bad. 80% of food both in restaurant and cafe was not available. The quality of food need to be improved on both cafe and restaurant. The receptionist behavior specially the male receptionist was not good. He is not available at night. We need to wait for long time to get response. We didn't get satisfactory service from this hotel at Puri. Whereas we stayed in Taki, and Mandarmani..The service was too good.

good location, friendly staff. Reception not spontaneous or stimulating. Food qualty average, mostly bengali based food. Not cheap. There is a fake website with links to trasport/ taxi booking. I have been a victim and payed for a fake taxi. Hotel apparently is aware of this but non chalant!

The hotel has mostly sea / side sea view rooms with balconies and has a great roof top cafe from where you get a great sea view. The less unexplored beach can be reached by just crossing the main road. Rooms are having all the necessary amenities - but a bit small compared to other Hotel Sonar Bangla properties (have only been to Taki & Kolaghat). The bathroom could have been a bit more spacious too. The service is good, breakfast was complimentary for us. Overall - location wise it's a good budget friendly choice. This is about 1.5 km from Swargadwar and about 2.5 km from Jagannath Mandir. Railway station would take 15-20 mins in an auto.

The experience was well below standard, and certainly not what we expected from a chain of this reputation. The behavior of the staff was poor — at the reception we were rudely told that check out will have to be at 8am(!). To make things worse, they called us at 7am, waking us up in deep sleep, to say that we have to vacate the room at 8am. At the restaurant, a *** called Surya had terrible behavior - first making us wait for no reason, talking to us in what we now took to be customary rude behavior, then serving us cold tea, and then promising to serve warm tea at our table, only to call us to come collect our own tea from him as if he was doing us a massive favor. Safe to say I’ll never be staying at this hotel ever again, even though I’m a regular visitor to Puri. Avoid at all costs - there are many other better alternatives.

Room was good, service was good but food is horrible, greasy, oily and full of burnt spices. All food are equally bad. It's away from main market. So every time you can't go out for food. Just because of poor food quality it's better not to go

Good atmosphere,rooms are clean ,value for money , friendly environment for family.
