Hotel Woolstore 1888, Sydney - Handwritten Collection Reviews

Gorgeous hotel, got a very noisy room the first night ( I believe it’s the outdoor unit of the aircon, old building of course) moved to a different room the next night, then the room never got hearted, well, I gave up, overall, it’s still a good stay, I will come back. Hopefully by then the aircon will be fixed.

Lovely hotel, free lolly bar. We had breakfast included and it was very nice. Close by the water and staff are really friendly

Loves our stay. Perfect quiet boutique for work trips. Great space downstairs for meetings and remote working.

Great hotel with clean and comfortable surrounds, a great location for us, who were on a business trip to the Int. Convention Centre. Our only concern was the service in the cafe/restaurant. The continental breakfast was $21 and looked like it came from Coles. One day we waited about 15 mins for a coffee and it was cold. The night we stayed for dinner, it seemed like there was no one in charge - we were sent to sit and wait for a table. No one came to get us, the supervisor wouldn't attend to us and then told me to ask the bar staff for table 40, but the bar staff were not willing to seat us. Eventually a reception staff intervened so we could be seated, there was no apology or acknowledgment that we had been waiting 15 mins for a table that had no other customers and had previously been reserved for us!

Best location for Sydney. Super convenient.

Really friendly staff, great atmosphere, clean rooms and pet friendly. Mini bar is free as well. The location was also great

Spent 4 days walking past a leaking roof with a bucket under it which had obviously overflowed multiple times as the carpet was soaked. The stench ending up wofting into rooms when they finally fixed it and put a drying fan Infront of it. Parking is a bad experience. They withheld my ticket on day 1 to get it validated overnight and then told me it only lasts 3 days and to get a new ticket and repeat the process. Room was missing the "loot bag" and the candy bar had about 3 jars on it but added more by the time we left. Novelty of the place fell flat.

Great location but couple of things disappointed me. 1. The size of the room (very small) 2. The complimentary mini bar was 2 bottles of water, 2 cokes and a red bull. 3. Social hour not included as I booked through a 3rd party.

The hotel was great - super helpful and friendly staff, comfortable rooms and lovely little perks (such as free lollies/popcorn at anytime in reception). We used the car park across the road which was very easy (staff validate your ticket and charge back to the room). The only disappointment was that the property advertises a 24/7 gym - which is actually the local snap fitness (approx 500m away). Not a huge deal but would have expected this to be on site or in a similar vicinity to the parking options provided.

Rooms are so overpriced for what is supplied, the room I had , you couldn’t swing a cat without hitting the walls. Did stay long in this place.

the property is really unique. I loved the architecture and how the 1888 building was converted to a modern hotel. The restaurant was 5 Star. The service was excellent. The rooms were comfortable.
