A perfect experience. All staff, and there are many of them, were helpful, friendly and professional. The gardens are a haven for all sorts of wildlife....... you don't expect to see dragonflies in the desert! Food was exceptional, and the vegetarian selection was great. (I believe, from a fellow guest, that the chef will also provide Vegan.). Restaurant overlooks the Red Sea and the lovely infinity pool. The buildings are constructed from local sandstone, that appears to be fossilised reef. It's worth looking closely at the stone work, to view fossils. The night sky is good viewing because, although there is external lighting, it points down so as not to leak upwards. Rooms are very clean, spacious, with comfy beds. There is an extensive library, with lots of historical information. We came primarily for diving, and we were not disappointed, with both shore and boat diving available. The dive centre staff give excellent nightly presentations, in the Library, on the Red Sea and its inhabitants: very informative. A perfect place for a peaceful and relaxing/ active holiday.

No TV, No WIFI (or so bad might aswell not be there), No lift and no choice at all in the food and the very expensive bar is the way I could summarise this experience. The food was well below average for a 2/3 star hotel, and there is literally no shop or restaurant near by an unforgettable experience for all the wrong reasons.

Should have been good, but wasn’t I have to say that the room I had (302) was really great; it had a massive bed and was clean with a good view of the sea. The air con worked and the ceiling fan also gave extra help. There was a kettle plus two cups, ordinary tea bags and mint tea bags, and the mini fridge was stocked with two large bottles of water, two cans of Coke and two cans of Sprite. There was a one (two) pack of Ferrero Rochet and there should have been a Snickers and Chips (crisps) but that was hit and miss through the whole time. Let me re-iterate there is no phone in the room, so you had to use a QR code to contact reception which manifested itself as emails back and forth. Also, there was no TV either. There was a safe, but not large enough to put in a small laptop. The food at the hotel for a vegetarian was sub-standard which was very disappointing. This was the same for breakfast and dinner. I don’t know what the lunch-time menu was like. Also, there wasn’t a choice of selection in the evening. It was either one or the other. I say this now, as the mini bar was not stocked up again each day and I can’t recall how many times I had to email to ask for stuff. Wi-fi in the room was so hit and miss; one minute it would be good and the next it was non-existent. Also, if you like a cold shower, you won’t get one in the room. The Dive Centre was ok, although the shore dives were average. Also, the boat dives tend to moor at the same location even though you are doing two dives; I do wonder if that’s the right strategy given that you tend to see the same stuff. Be careful of their “No show” policy which wasn’t great; I informed them that I was too ill to dive the Night Dive which they then cancelled as it was too rough, and I still got charged 10 Euros! One saving grace was Mido; what a fab dive guide he was. They other guys at the Emperor Dive Finally, I don’t know why, but on the last morning I was asked to for a tip; that was new to me in Egypt, and I wonder why. This wasn’t a cheap dive 7-day break so wasn’t expecting that. So, all in all, it should have been a good experience, but it wasn’t! I would avoid this hotel unless it has some serious attention.

If serenity, eco friendliness, fantastic staff, unique architecture, a huge library and possibilities to explore eco friendly tourism, this is the place to go. For this purpose it is a clear 5 star rating. If you are looking for umbrella drinks served at the beach, a 30 item menu, huge pool areas with slides for children - well - go someplace else. This hotel has character, beauty and blends into the landscape. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. Hygiene is extremely good. Relaxing in the library after a day scuba diving is balm for the soul. I travel a lot. I have stayed in all from 5 star luxury chain hotels to local hotels in Africa. Many hotels are are long since forgotten. I stayed at Wadi Sabarah Lodge for the first time in October. I will not forget this hotel - and I will be back.

High quality lodge. Simple, tasty Egyptian food, made with pride. Lovely rooms and very comfy beds. Friendly staff and really nice fellow holiday makers. We went diving most days with the on-site dive lodge, Emperor. High quality staff. Quality reef. Lots of great corals and marine life. We were lucky to spend a magical 45 minute dive with dolphins and a dugong. MAGICAL. Massive shout out to Sonia who did the most wonderful marine talk each evening. She makes the ordinary extraordinary. Windy when we were there which limited the dive sites, and meant no snorkelling possible in the house reef. Shame.

We are in the Wadi Sabarah Lodge for 8 days. It's the perfect place for people who are looking for a quiet place without animation, loud music or crowded beach. Wadi Sabarah is an amazing hotel, unique rooms, a great view on the red sea with an attached diving base called Emperor. The whole staff is very nice, always smiling and making your day. Moustafa the general manager is a very nice person, always open for critics and improvements. The meals at the restaurant change daily and are very tasty. Oriental Egypt style and freshly prepared. The whole place is well maintained. We will definitely come back. Alf shukran Wadi Sabarah Team!

This is a beautiful property in a tranquil location on the coast. We spent some days there diving with the onsite Emperor dive shop before doing a liveaboard. The beautiful pool was such a treat. It is important to remember that it is still a work in progress, as such it is important to speak up if dissatisfied with anything. The potential is there. We had reason to have full and frank exchanges of views about the housekeeping, including with the GM. We only stayed five nights and on none of the days when we got back from diving was the room ready at 3 or 4 pm.There was no water on several days, the bed was left unmade, used cups left around. This is just not acceptable after having spent 9 hours in the outdoors when it was 40 degrees. The food was just OK, very good for a few days and then on the last day dinner was boiled rice, boiled pasta and chickpeas mixed together. Breakfasts were very nice. On the days we did boat diving the lunches, as they always are, were excellent. The Emperor onsite dive shop was really good, we had Elphinstone all to ourselves and then the most wonderful dive and snorkel visit to Samadi with forty to fifty dolphins in a big pod. Shore diving is the standard, a free dive on the house reef is included in a day dive package. Most of the days we were there it was too windy to access the house reef and no credit was available for any missed dives, which we would have done on the checkout day. We had a great trip and met some really great people. We were very lucky on the liveaboard with multiple hammerhead spots, an oceanic white tip and a manta at Daedalus, and masses of dolphins at Sataya. But if and when Wadi S improves and varies the food a little, pays more attention to housekeeping and dare I say it supports their staff to learn some English, it will go from being a nice place to an outstanding destination with great diving.
