Qingdao Yilan Xinsu Hotel (Shilaoren bathing beach, International Convention and Exhibition Center)

This room is exceptionally spacious. From the window, you can look out and see the glistening sea not far away. Plus, there's a mini-fridge, and the service is quite good. It's also very close to the scenic area.

The room offers great value for money and is very spacious, featuring a separate toilet, shower, and washbasin. It's located in what I assume is Qingdao's CBD, and the night view from the terrace is quite enjoyable.

The room is very spacious with an outdoor balcony offering views of the entire Shinan Ocean Beach coastline. The scenery is fantastic when the weather is good. However, the cleaning leaves a bit to be desired. Since the hotel is located on an extremely high floor, management is somewhat inconvenient, and the front desk phone couldn't be reached at night, which was rather frustrating.

I stayed here in late July, peak season, and paid over 400 yuan a night. The pros are its proximity to Shilaoren Beach, spacious rooms, and a decent restaurant. Everything else was a con: 1. Yilan Xinsu and Yilan Xinshe are the same place. Yilan Xinsu's entrance was under construction, and the front desk was at Yilan Xinshe. Although it's only 30 meters away, it was very inconvenient. Xinshe has lower floors but a front desk, a restaurant (where breakfast is served), robot delivery, and a laundry room. Yilan Xinsu has higher floors and is more expensive, but it has nothing; you have to go downstairs yourself to pick up takeout. 2. They said there was a laundry room, but it's in Xinshe, in a dim little room with three dirty washing machines. You need to bring your own detergent. The main problem is that the elevator in Xinshe doesn't display floor numbers for floors 1-3. After someone gets off on the 2nd floor, the elevator just opens and closes, staying on the 2nd floor – this happened three times! When I finally made it to the 3rd floor, there was no sign for the 'laundry room,' so I had no idea how to find it! 3. The room's air conditioning would turn off by itself! Sometimes after an hour, sometimes half an hour, sometimes just ten minutes! I'd wake up hot in the morning! I finally got someone to try and fix it two or three times, but it was never resolved! 4. Early one morning, the toilet was clogged and kept filling with water. I called the front desk, and they said the maintenance staff wouldn't start until after 8 AM. The entire bathroom was flooded. I was traveling with my child during the summer and didn't want to switch hotels, but I eventually couldn't stand it anymore and moved.

Traveling with family, the hotel location is convenient. It's about a 10-minute walk to the beach, or a short taxi ride (minimum fare). There are also many restaurants nearby and free parking is available. The only thing is that the lobby for check-in/check-out and the guest rooms are in separate buildings.

The front desk is in a different building from where you actually check in, so you have to drag your luggage to another building after you've checked in. However, the room itself was nice and spacious, located on the 26th floor. The cleanliness could be improved though, as it wasn't thoroughly cleaned.

Great location near Seoknain Beach with ocean views. The check-in building and the hotel building are separate. It's a bit hard to find just by looking for the sign.
