Shangri-La Hotel, Qingdao

The lobby of Shangri-La Hotel, Qingdao is grand and beautiful. The gym is well-equipped, and the pool experience is great. My favorite part is being able to soak in the bathtub and relax; it's very refreshing after a workout. The facilities are well-maintained, and the overall comfort of the stay is very high.

I specifically want to commend Ginny, our hotel butler. The one-on-one butler service was excellent; communication felt natural and comfortable, never overly formal or stiff. As newcomers to Qingdao, we weren't familiar with the city, but Ginny patiently helped us plan our sightseeing routes, ensuring we avoided unnecessary detours. She even proactively informed us about fountain show times and provided helpful tips for taxis. Whether it was questions related to our stay or general travel inquiries, Ginny always provided detailed answers and handled things with great efficiency. The hotel's facilities and location are already top-notch. With such a thoughtful butler, our entire stay experience was significantly enhanced. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Qingdao for a holiday.

The hotel's location is incredibly convenient; the subway entrance is right outside, and it's next to MixC shopping mall, making it easy to get anywhere. The breakfast was delicious too. We had a fantastic stay, making it the perfect choice for a family trip.

The room was quite clean, and the hotel is clearly putting in effort, including having an inflatable castle. The pool definitely gets a thumbs up! My kids stayed for two nights and swam for three full days. The pool is huge and rarely crowded. Plus, the changing room has a hot tub and a sauna, both of which are very comfortable. The hotel staff are also excellent and very patient with children. However, the front desk is incredibly inflexible. They wouldn't let me use the breakfast vouchers I received from the Shangri-La mini-program just because I booked through Trip.com. Other hotels, like Senbo, also give out similar breakfast vouchers, and while they might state they're only valid for bookings made through their official channels or mini-programs, they almost always accept them in practice. Shangri-La is the only place I've encountered where the front desk insisted I couldn't use them.

The location of Shangri-La is simply unbeatable. It's right in the heart of the city's busiest district, very close to May Fourth Square and the Olympic Sailing Center, and just across the street from MixC mall. The hotel staff are warm and attentive. I'll definitely choose Shangri-La again on my next visit to Qingdao.

Extremely convenient location, right next to MixC shopping mall. The front desk and concierge service were excellent. They even arranged for our two rooms to be side-by-side, which shows they really pay attention to guest needs. The concierge also brought up our food deliveries, which many other hotels don't do. They even noticed when I wasn't feeling well and showed concern. The only slightly weaker aspect was the restaurant service, but it's a minor flaw. The noodle station at breakfast was inconsistent, and the wontons weren't great. While the breakfast had a good variety compared to other hotels, the taste was just a bit off for most items. Overall, I feel that the service at Shangri-La Qingdao is truly outstanding, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Qingdao.

My child absolutely loved the various clay DIY and creative craft projects, especially playing with Cherry – they had so much fun they didn't want to leave, which was a lifesaver for us parents. We even added Cherry on WeChat, and she patiently answered all our questions, meticulously recommending nearby attractions and authentic local restaurants tailored to our family's itinerary. She also distinguished between trendy spots and family-friendly places, helping us plan routes that saved time and effort. The hotel's location is excellent, with easy access to May Fourth Square and the Olympic Sailing Center. Our room was clean and comfortable, and service responses were prompt. We felt the meticulous and thoughtful care everywhere. It's perfect whether for a short break or as a base for exploring Qingdao. With its superior facilities, warm service, and fun kids' activities, it's highly recommended for family travel. Next time we visit Qingdao, Shangri-La will still be our top choice. I genuinely recommend it to anyone planning a trip with children!

A wonderful trip out~ I highly recommend choosing Shangri-La Qingdao! The hotel lobby is very grand. When checking in, Cherry proactively chatted with us and arranged our room. While we were wondering where to go since our room wasn't ready yet, Cherry spontaneously mentioned the hotel's exclusive children's craft area, which was a pleasant surprise. They offer creative activities like sun hat DIY, fruit shell wind chimes, and beach texture painting. The space is spacious and clean. Kids can enjoy immersive craft fun, freeing up parents' hands, and indoor play isn't affected by the weather. Cherry was very professional and enthusiastic, and proactively offered suggestions for exploring Qingdao. The hotel's location is excellent, close to May Fourth Square and the Olympic Sailing Center, making it very convenient for watching the light show. Cherry thoughtfully recommended hidden gems like Badaguan and Wheat Island, and pointed us to local restaurants with good value, helping us avoid tourist traps. The guest rooms are elegant and well-maintained, offering a high level of comfort. This trip saved us a lot of time on planning, and the pace of our travels was relaxed and enjoyable. We will definitely prioritize this hotel again on our next visit to Qingdao!

We had initially planned to quickly visit the city's attractions, but after Melo understood our situation, he carefully outlined a suitable itinerary for us, recommending many fun sights nearby. Knowing the weather had been unpredictable, he advised us to bring light jackets and sun hats, and even told us the best parking spots at each attraction to avoid wasting time driving around. When we had questions about road conditions during our outings, Melo promptly responded via WeChat. The hotel itself is clean and luxurious, and the rooms are incredibly comfortable, but Melo's thoughtful service was the biggest highlight of our trip.
