Hyatt Regency Qingdao

On our last day in Qingdao, we switched to the Hyatt. Despite the rain, we had a blast in the hotel pool. Breakfast was also quite good, and we even saw a rainbow at the Beba restaurant in the evening. Ms. Bi at the front desk provided excellent service, upgrading us to a sea-view room. The next day, the kids didn't want to leave the beach after playing in the sand, so she kindly extended our check-out time for free. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay! 👍

I chose this hotel by chance and was pleasantly surprised! The bathhouse downstairs was super convenient for a relaxing dip. Fiona at the guest services center was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room layout was well-designed, and it came with all the necessary amenities. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. Overall, a fantastic stay!

Pros: The hotel is super close to the beach; you just walk out from the basement floor. My kids specifically wanted this hotel because of the beach. The seawater at the beach was incredibly clean, making it very convenient to wade and play in the water. The staff were also very patient and provided excellent service. Cons: We booked a family suite, and the room was spacious. However, there were mirrors on both sides of the main bed, which felt very uncomfortable. I didn't sleep well at night, waking up repeatedly. I hope this can be improved; mirrors by the headboard can really affect sleep. (See the circled area in picture 2).

The hotel is right next to Shilaoren Beach, which is a rare find in downtown Qingdao. It's a major plus for families with kids, as they provide extra beds. We've been coming here for five years straight! However, the facilities are starting to show their age and really need an update. The air conditioning in room 1203, for example, wasn't working well. On the bright side, the room service was excellent. The staff member was super quick in bringing a fan and other amenities we requested, and the cleaning lady was also very friendly and welcoming.

We took our kids to Qingdao and booked a 4-day, 3-night stay. We got a free upgrade to a sea-view room, and they even gave the little one a sand-digging toy, plus complimentary fruit and drinks. Every staff member provided excellent service; it was a fantastic experience. The hotel has direct access to the beach from the basement, which is super convenient. The beach right below the hotel was uncrowded and peaceful (whereas the area closer to the Shilaoren entrance was packed with people). There are also several large shopping malls near the hotel, making dining very easy. We could order takeout from Hema, 7-Eleven, and Decathlon, which was great because we didn't bring all our gear, haha. The hotel didn't have many parent-child activities; we mostly just dug in the sand and swam during our stay. It would be even better if there were more family-friendly activities.

The hotel's location is excellent, making it easy to get anywhere. You can access the beach and lawn directly from the basement level, which is perfect for families with young children. The facilities are a bit dated, but the service is great – they're very responsive to requests. Breakfast offers a good variety, though you might have to queue if you go late. The executive lounge has a smaller selection, but the food is tasty, especially the desserts. Overall, it's a pretty good place and worth recommending.

This time I brought my kid to Qingdao and stayed at this hotel. The group price on Trip.com was decent, but it's going to go up significantly after July 1st. The hotel's location is great, right downstairs from Shilaoren Beach. There are two large shopping malls nearby with plenty of good food options. The weather in the morning and evening is very pleasant. Qingdao is definitely a comfortable place to visit in the summer.

Fiona at the guest services center was incredibly helpful and enthusiastic, making the entire communication process smooth and stress-free. The room was cleaned daily, and the bedding was soft and comfortable, providing a much better night's sleep than I expected.

The location is fantastic! We just stepped out onto the beach after breakfast, and it was super convenient to go straight upstairs to change after playing in the sand. Front desk staff Xiao Ning provided excellent service; she was incredibly warm and welcoming even though we arrived past 3 AM.
