The location is fantastic, close to everything. The room is clean, and the interior design is exquisite. The environment is superb, and the courtyard has a beautiful, unique Jiangnan charm – it would be even more stunning in the summer. The owner is incredibly welcoming. The hotel is located in the center of the old city, just a few hundred meters from the West Gate. The hotel is in a courtyard building that has several rooms. Everything is very nicely decorated with traditional themes and elements. Nobody spoke English, but we made things work with translator apps and gestures. The woman who runs the hotel and her staff were very helpful. Breakfast was a bit limited, as it was a traditional Chinese breakfast, but that was to be expected. This area doesn't get a whole lot of Western tourists. The room itself was an especially good deal. It was huge and even had a nice area for making tea.

Call it a home, not a hotel. The welcome was very warm. I always got answers to my questions. As a foreigner, I had a lot of concerns. The room was great. The welcome was good and warm, like family. The location is convenient for walking around the city. Even though we went during the winter, which is low season, the accommodation impressed us very much.
