Hotel Acadia

Quebec City|0.17km from Literary And Historical Society Of Quebec
We had a nice stay at hotel acadia for 4 days. We were visiting for a mother daughter getaway. I was a little worried because of some of the recent very negative reviews, I can see the reason for some of them but people need to manage their expectations when booking a hotel at a cheaper rate. I would say this is a budget hotel, this is reflected in the price and the hotel itself, although I can see they are starting some renovations. This hotel definitely has a lot of potential. I wish I could give 3.5 stars, but I thought 3 was too low, so I gave 4. Here are some pros and cons Pros -Very friendly reception staff -beds were super comfortable! -great location -we booked a superior room with 2 beds, this was a nice size and had a charming quebec feel with the fireplace and brick wall. -free breakfast every morning at sagamite when booking through their website. Food was really good. -water machine and cappuccino/espresso machine in lobby, with Keurig in room. No charge to use these. Cons -cleanliness: we did feel cleanliness was lacking. There was visible dust on the vanity shelving and the bathroom just didn't seem clean, black mold on the tiles. The bathroom was dated and could use an update. Made me question the cleanliness of everything else. -no housekeeping throughout our stay -no wifi or TV for the duration of our stay in the room, they said it was being fixed but it never was. -hot tub not working, and I don't think it has been for a while. It shouldn't be advertised! -when we checked in they told us that there was a drip in the bathtub that they ”couldn't get fixed before we checked in”. We looked at the tub and there is a visible mark from it dripping for a long period of time. Don't be dishonest with your guests. Overall it was a good stay, we paid $150 a night with breakfast included for a superior room and I am happy with the value we got. Anything more expensive I would have been dissapointed.

酒店位置很不錯,出門就是熱鬧的街區和景點。酒店很精緻小巧,房間裝修新,樓板隔音一般,樓上走動有響聲。樓下酒店有自營的餐廳,坐落在一條街上,整體很滿意。

I booked this hotel the night prior. I wasn’t expecting much since i never heard of this place, let alone was a last minute booking. But much to our surprise, it turns out memorable for our family. It was very “homey”, it reminds me of another hotel we booked from the past in Venice, its small but very central, it comes with breakfast and their tiny dining area is cute. The front desk is friendly and personable, its why we enjoyed boutique hotels in the first place. They have their own parking, make sure that after you made a reservation that you call them right away to save you a spot. They have a vending machine for wines and other provisions too. No problem coming back to this hotel next time again.

We spent three nights at this property last week and we are so glad we did. Our room was pristine and spacious--and quiet. We were on the second level (considered the first) and we couldn't hear any sounds from the street, hallway or neighboring rooms. We were early for check-in so we parked on a nearby street and had a great lunch at the restaurant that shares the entrance with the hotel, Bistro Hortus (not sure if they are related but convenient and delicious option if you need to eat during your stay). While eating lunch the restaurant texted to say our room was ready and we pulled up on the side small street and checked in and unloaded our bags. We were given a ticket for a parking garage that was diagonal to the hotel. It really couldn't have been easier. We were able to take the car out at our convenience--which we did to visit Montmorency Falls and Ile d'Orleans (loved both, easy drive). We enjoyed the common room---we filled our water jugs (they have them to borrow too), enjoyed complimentary espressos, played Scrabble and borrowed a book. It really was a nice spot if you needed to just sit after a long day of exploring the city by foot (or bike). The location was perfect for us. We would set out and purposely get lost--or we would head to a specific restaurant or historic site and they were all walkable. Although we didn't need help with restaurants the staff seemed really helpful with recommendations. And they were very friendly every time we interacted with them. If you like sushi, Masaru is a few doors down and I am still thinking about it. It was excellent and a nice break from the cuisine we were (really!) enjoying. We also had wonderful dinners at Chez Rioux & Pettigrew, Legende and Ophelia. All walkable. We would definitely stay here again. A real gem of a property in a welcoming and beautiful city.

You can park on the roadside. The train station is about 10 minutes walk past the ancient city, but not too far from the ancient city, about 10 minutes away from the supermarket. They are all flat roads and do not need to climb mountain roads.

We went to Quebec for 3 days and this hotel was in a prime location. Everything within walking distance... great restaurants and a epicerie (grocery store) just around the corner. We stayed in the suite and it was a great size for our family.
