The room had an outstanding view and size of room was quite comfortable. They have dry Sauna for anyone interested. The buffet was okay but considering food prices in Queenstown, you get decent bang for your buck.

Mercure Queenstown Resort is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms were spotless, the location is perfect, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The amenities were well-maintained and made for a very comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend and will be returning.

The Mercure Queenstown feels quite dated, though that was expected. What disappointed me more was the overall maintenance and poor soundproofing—I could hear loud thumping from the room above. The bathroom has been renovated, but amenities were lacking (barely any soap or shampoo), the shower leaked making everything wet, and the door was stiff and noisy to close. Both the bathroom and the room were cold, as the air conditioning only managed to heat partially. Paid parking for hotel guests is simply absurd. On a positive note, breakfast was acceptable.  The View is although the big PLUS.

On the first night of my group tour, I suffered from dust allergies. When I arrived in Queenstown the next day, I booked an extra room for myself for the two-night stay. This hotel is also a D-brand hotel; I stayed at the same brand four times throughout the trip, but these two nights were the second-lowest allergy-inducing rooms of the entire journey. The room was relatively clean. My self-booked room was upgraded to the 4th floor, which had a sloped roof. Some people might mind it for feng shui reasons, but the full-window lake view was fantastic, and it wasn't noisy despite being diagonally opposite the elevator. The shower room was quite unique for Europe, America, and Oceania, more like the integrated shower units common in Japan. It had a door to prevent water leakage, the showerhead could be moved without having to stand in the bathtub, and the water pressure was strong, making for a very comfortable shower. In hotels run by Indian owners, towels often have that distinct milky-sour smell after getting wet, but the towels here had a much fainter odor. Check-in at the front desk was very convenient and quick, and the breakfast was also abundant. The restaurant's lake view was also very pleasant.

This hotel offers unobstructed lake views, and the lake-view rooms on the top floor boast particularly stunning scenery. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the hotel's restaurant serves excellent food, though the selection is a bit limited. Breakfast is quite good and varied, but it can get noisy when tour groups are present. It would be ideal if there were a dedicated dining area for them.

Service: The front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming. On my first night, I wasn't sure how to use the laundry room, and the lady at the front desk patiently came over to show me how. (Though doing laundry, drying, and detergent cost me $6 or $8, which stung a bit...) Facilities: The room was quite spacious and even came with a bathtub, which was generally good. However, the bathtub had a really annoying flaw: the glass panel next to it wasn't fixed (and couldn't be fixed). This led to me slipping and falling while showering when I leaned on it. Although I wasn't seriously hurt, my arm ached for several days and had bruises. Also, the outdoor pool wasn't heated, which was a bit disappointing. Environment: The hotel is located on Fern Hill, offering expansive views. Our room had a large window, allowing us to see Lake Wakatipu and the mountains across (I forget their name), which was incredibly beautiful. On our third day, it rained a little, and there was a thin layer of snow on the mountaintops and a rainbow over the lake – it was simply perfect. Hygiene: It was very clean, and I didn't encounter any issues.

Mercure Queenstown truly elevates the vacation experience! My friend and I stayed in a lake view room with two large beds, and the entire experience was fantastic – definitely five stars! 🌄 Stunning Views: The lake view room offers an absolutely divine panorama! You can take in the breathtaking beauty of Lake Wakatipu and the Southern Alps right from your bed. The lake and mountain scenery, both morning and evening, is so beautiful it leaves you speechless; waking up to it every day was incredibly rejuvenating. 🏊♀️ Excellent Facilities: The hotel features its own pool and lounge area. After a day of activities, a dip and some sunbathing really enhanced the holiday vibe. The room was spacious, the bedding soft and comfortable, and it was spotlessly clean. The facilities were complete and modern, perfectly meeting our travel needs. 💁♀️ Attentive Service: The front desk staff were warm and professional. Upon check-in, they proactively introduced the hotel facilities and provided local tips for sightseeing. Any requests were promptly handled, showing great attention to detail that made us feel very welcome. 📍 Convenient Location: The hotel’s location is superb. It’s easy to park if you're driving, and you can also walk to Queenstown center with ease, making dining, shopping, and visiting attractions incredibly convenient. Our Queenstown trip with my friend was made even more perfect by this hotel. We will definitely choose it again next time we visit, and I highly recommend it to every traveler coming to Queenstown!
