I booked a one-bedroom lake view suite for three nights and had the worst check-in experience of my life!
First, the lake view room in block 3, 705, had absolutely no lake view. All I saw was a huge construction site. After requesting a room change, I was moved to 906 upstairs. The hotel staff told us this was the only room available. However, this new room faced scaffolding and was filled with a terrible smell. Even after the hotel staff came back to the room with us to check, they couldn't identify the source of the smell or solve the problem. They only tried removing the microwave, hoping it would help (it didn't; it still stank the next morning).
After continuous communication with Trip.com customer service, we stated that if we couldn't get a normal room the next day, we would check out early and move to another hotel. Despite multiple negotiations by the platform, the hotel still claimed to be fully booked with no rooms available (even though they were still selling various room types for tomorrow and the day after on major platforms). They even demanded an extra night's fee for early departure.
From beginning to end, the hotel staff showed no apology whatsoever for the completely obstructed view and the strange smell in the room. Their attitude was even hostile, and they had no desire to help resolve the issues. Ultimately, Trip.com compensated me for one night's room fee, allowing me to check out early without loss. I can only say thank you, Trip.com!!!!
In short, the service and amenities of this hotel are a huge red flag!!! If you have construction areas, please differentiate between obstructed-view rooms and normal lake-view rooms, instead of making consumers pay the same price to stay on a construction site. To friends who booked this hotel and got a good room, I can only say you are lucky. If you don't want to fly so far only to be infuriated, avoid this hotel! I hope no one else has to go through this injustice!!!!
