I checked in at 3 a.m., and I had to ask the taxi driver to stand next to me while I rang the doorbell and until they opened it. If I had been alone, I would have been worried. The room has a large window and a balcony, but it also has to be kept closed for security reasons. I understand that the hotel staff works hard to make you feel safe and comfortable inside, but they can't control the situation outside the hotel.
