Casa El Eden was the perfect place for our 2-night stay in Quito. Mario and Blanca were so welcoming and helpful during our entire stay and went above and beyond. The location is great for central Quito, you're in walking distance to everything you'll want to explore. Do note that this is a building in the middle of the city; the building is very well-insulated from noise when the windows are shut but if you open them you'll hear the people and cars. We loved our stay here and would certainly recommend it!

When you enter Casa el Eden, you truly feel like you’re coming home. The welcome from Mario was wonderful and we received the same care and attention to detail throughout our stay from every colleague we met. Mario and Blanca especially were always eager to ensure that we had everything we needed for a great stay. The room was spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. The bed was big and comfortable, the towels fluffy, the shower pressure perfect. Breakfast was eggs cooked to order with cereal and various local fruits - exactly what you need. We would absolutely return to this boutique the next time we’re in Quito!

This was one of my best hotel experiences ever. Mario was the nicest host and was always so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The room was very spacious with nice features and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast each morning was delicious with an array of eggs fruit yogurt and juice/coffee. The location was also very convenient with easy walking access to old city. Cannot recommend this place enough!

This is the most beautiful hotel we have stayed in. Mario and his staff are very welcoming and helpful. We loved staying here. The bathrooms are spacious and the shower is hot and great pressure. Breakfast was more than we could eat and it was delicious. Every inch of the hotel has been remodeled and great attention has been paid to detail. We highly commend this hotel.

We traveled to Ecuador in February 2024. It was our first trip to this beautiful country. During our first 3 days we stayed at the Casa El Eden hotel in Quito, Ecuador located near the Quito's Historic Center. The owners, Mario and Blanca, are very welcoming and made us feel like we were visiting family. There are 6 rooms at the hotel. Casa was a run down house which was completely renovated to express Ecuadorian charm. Our room was very spacious and beautiful. A wonderfully prepared breakfast was provided each morning where we had great conversations with Mario and Blanca and staff. It was very easy to walk to Historic Center locations from the hotel. We would highly recommend staying at Casa if you go to Quito because of the friendly, welcoming atmosphere and the charm of the hotel.

We travelled at the end of January 2024 from the UK, as a party of four, on our first trip to South America. Over almost six weeks in Ecuador we visited the Cloud Forest, climbed volcanoes and explored Galapagos and the Ecuadorean Amazon Basin. All of this involved 4 separate visits to Quito. During each visit we stayed at Casa el Eden. We could not recommend the hotel and its owners and staff more highly (two of us are retired high end hoteliers so we do have some relevant experience). The hotel is a beautifully renovated and restored townhouse in the historic centre of Quito. It is minutes away from all the magnificent sights. It's on a quite un-prepossessing street, but when the big doors open, you move into a different world. The centre courtyard was originally open but now has a glass cupola and this area forms the lobby, which like the rest of the hotel is beautifully furnished and decorated. The original painted ceilings and wall panels are preserved. There's a neat snug bar on one side and the breakfasting kitchen on the other. The bedrooms are on the first and second floors. We saw four of them during our stays and all were equally well laid out and beautifully furnished. Great comfy beds, high quality linens, towels and toiletries. Original restored windows and shutters, but with double glazed panels on the outside. All rooms are en-suite obviously, with the shower forming part of the bedroom itself. There is a really lovely roof terrace where drinks and lovely wines from the honesty bar (and bought in pizzas) can be enjoyed along with amazing views of the city, Mario and Blanca who run the hotel with a small staff, including assistant Daniel, are the perfect hosts in every way. All of the staff were great but these three particularly could not have been more charming or friendly or helpful. They carted our heavy luggage in and out and up and down 8 times. They spoke to airlines and drivers and restaurants on our behalf. They helped to serve us great breakfasts every morning - the best breakfasts we had in Ecuador - sometimes at very unsociable times and they welcomed us the first time and each subsequent time as though we were old friends. They told us that their home was our home and it truly felt that way. We could easily have stayed in airport hotels on at least two of our shorter transits through Quito, but we are so glad we didn’t. It’s a 40 minute drive from the airport to Casa el Eden and its more than worth it. This is a great small hotel, run by great people who really care about their customers and their hotel. Don’t hesitate to go.

I arrived late in the day and received a warm welcome from Mario. My room was on the second floor; spacious and comfortable with windows facing the center courtyard (no externally facing windows). The bathroom was a bit small but a good shower and all that I needed. As others have noted, a wonderful, fresh cooked breakfast was ready almost as soon as I sat down at the table. Mario was great in helping me navigate the neighborhood and getting a cab to take me to my next destination. Just a wonderful experience all around at Casa El Eden.

This is one of the very nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. The rooms are large, spotlessly clean, well appointed and extremely comfortable . The building is gorgeous full of old charm with a wonderful central inner courtyard, in a perfect location clise to the centre of the old town. But in addition to all the above our hosts Mario and Blanca are truly wonderful and are the very best welcoming warm couple who could not be more charming. YOU HAVE TO MAKE THIS YOUR NUMBER ONE CHOICE!

This small boutique hotel is the best. The owners, Mario and Blanca, have restored this home in the colonial section of Quito but kept so many of the architectual details. They cannot do enough for you. I was getting in late but Mario arranged for a taxi to pick me up at the airport. $35. They stayed up to greet me and help me with my bags to my room. The room was spacious and well appointed. All the amenities, soft towels, and comfortable bedding. I asked Mario to arrange 2 day trips which he did. The breakfasts in their beautiful dining rooom was outstanding. Fresh fruits, juices, rolls, eggs prepared the way you like them. I had to leave at 4 am for a flight to Galapagos and once again, Mario got up early arranged for a cab. I highly recommend Casa el Eden.
