Incredibly disappointed with my stay. Room was hot and smelt very strongly of Indian takeaway on arrival. Bedding had blood on it. Bedhead in poor repair. Bathroom door did not close. Outer window was impossible to close due to the position of the television set and the inner window frame. Shower clearly cleaned but smelt very musty. Room 205 is next door to the linen room. Staff used this room loudly after midnight at 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. talking, banging the door repeatedly, and shaking sheets out. This woke me up multiple times, and I did not sleep well. There were no hairdryers available, I had to go out and buy one. The lift did not work. My card to enter the building stopped working during my stay and needed changing, which was another inconvenience. None of this is the fault of the staff who were very pleasant. Perfect location with cafes and shops nearby, just a shame that the place isn't well maintained. There's bog standard and then there's this.

Isabel was incredibly helpful and attentive. It’s the first time I have ever know a conference be truly inclusive for dietary requirements, so thank you. The room was set up exactly as we requested, yea and coffee was readily available as requested and the goodies were delivered right on time! The high end organisation made our away day the best day. Thank you Isabel.

In March 2021 I made a reservation at this hotel for February 2022. At the end of November 2021 I received a cancellation notice. There was no explanation why, so I waited 2 days to see if one came. It didn't, so I contacted Hilton customer services to tell them I hadn't cancelled it and I required it to be reinstated. Hilton replied saying they had forwarded my message to the hotel and I should expect to receive a response within 3 days. No response was forthcoming so I had to contact Hilton customer services again. The hotel did eventually respond, more than 4 weeks after I was told they would. The response was not satisfactory. They said they had cancelled my booking because they had accepted other bookings instead, presumably more profitable for them than mine. They offered compensation of 1 free night at an unspecified date in the future. This was clearly not sufficient to cover the immediate extra cost of rebooking the entire stay elsewhere, so I rejected it and told them I required them to pay the full extra cost of alternative accommodation and some modest compensation for the inconvenience they'd caused. The hotel said they would make alternative arrangements for me, but then failed to respond to subsequent e-mails on the subject, despite me getting read receipts confirming they had received them. I had to contact Hilton customer services yet again to get the matter resolved.

4 of us stayed here for one night as we were at a local festival. We arrived and one of the rooms wasn’t ready. We put all of our bags in one room. Although the room was clean and spacious it smelt of damp towels. We went to the reception and asked if they could call us a cab. Was told they were too busy and we would have to do it ourselves. (Even though there was nobody there at the time). The lady on reception the next morning was much friendlier and asked about our evening. Breakfast included in the price was lovely and one of the best breakfasts I’ve eaten at a hotel before. Quite expensive I thought for 1 night.

What an excellent hotel. Fabulous value for £75 a double room (upgraded free to a family room) with breakfast included in the price at £9.99 each with a comprehensive choice, buffet style and very good quality. The room was clean, spacious, the shower excellent, enough towels. The staff were welcoming and friendly - based on the first floor. Who needs second home owners offering Airbnb when you've got value like this? Parking was five minutes away in the council owned multi storey Stafferton car park (after 9 pm it's free till 9 am) but park from sixth floor as it's rail customers before that.

GGuest UserOverall this is a really nice hotel, but what would make it really great is a little more staff training. The staff are all really lovely, but they lack a bit of common sense and management. The hotel appears to be aiming for a high end of the market, so we were surprised by the poor training of some of the staff. The chap behind the bar on the two evenings we were there was really nice, but oh my goodness he was so slow. Each time we ordered a drink we had to tell him two or three times what we wanted. They didn't have the wine I wanted, but instead of handing me a list of their wines or telling me what wines they have, he just looked blankly at me and waited for me to ask if he had a certain wine. When he had poured the drinks he never told us how much they were, he just got the card machine out (they don't take cash) and we paid. We had to ask for the card machine receipt, but never gave us a till receipt so we still have no idea how much each individual drink cost. By the way the drinks are really expensive. The first night we had a pint of larger and a large white wine which came to £15.30p and the next night two large glasses of wine (one red, one white) which came to £23.50p. At no time during our stay were we offered a till receipt. We were shocked by the half pint and pint glasses given to customers (even ladies) which were the old fashioned ones with handles, which we hadn't seen for many years. Some ladies were struggling to drink from them. I really think the hotel should reconsider this and at least offer ladies a tall glass. The same chap was on his own behind the bar for both nights, but at no point did any other member of staff come to help him, especially when quite a bit queue had formed (because he was so slow), even though there were plenty of staff in the area. The waiting staff were friendly and polite, but again lacked a bit of guidance and training. One of the young waiters was wiping a table while the plates etc were still on the table. We wanted a table that people had just left and he kindly said he would clear the table for us and re-set it. He did re-set it, but didn't wipe it over and left the jug of water from the previous people. It is a large hotel and there were two coach trips booked in as well as quite a few other guests, so it was quite busy on both evenings. Having said this the hotel rooms were lovely and we enjoyed our stay. Our room was on the first floor which was nice and quiet. Rooms were extremely clean and tidy and well maintained. We were on a coach trip, so not in the hotel much of the time during the day. A few tweaks and this could be a really top notch hotel. Top tip: if the bar prices put you off, pop round to the local shop (turn left out of the main entrance of the hotel, turn right at the end of the road and there are a couple of shops up there and a cafe). You can buy drink there to put in the fridge in your room. Also, ice machine on the first floor by the lifts

AAnonymous UserPerfect for me as it’s right across from the office but probably not so great if you wanted to be in the city centre although it’s only an £8 taxi ride or £2 bus ride. Opposite a Beefeater which was handy but I would prefer an on-site bar and restaurant. Felt a bit uncomfortable on check-in to be asked if I was a smoker (I’m not) and if anyone would be joining me later 😳. Didn’t like the bed being made up with sheets, blanket and counter pane as it’s quite uncomfortable particularly on one of the hottest days of the year although the mobile air conditioning unit helped (first time I’ve had sheets and blankets for over 30 years since the day I got married despite extensive business (weekly) and leisure travel (4-6 times a year)). Hotel was very clean and the bathroom was well equipped. A bottle of water would have been a welcome addition to the room particularly in such hot weather. Not sure who to recommend the hotel to as it’s neither a corporate hotel with all the amenities or a home from home. Breakfast was on offer for an additional £15 and I decided to wait until I checked in to see. As I wanted to be in the office for 8am and there was no menu available, times of service or visibility of a dining room, other facilities or even other guests, I decided it may be too intimate and opted for a cold sandwich I had stored in the office fridge ‘just in case’. Was similarly priced to the executive room I had in the Novotel last week which had a full buffet breakfast included.

GGuest Userthe second i checked in got a very warm welcome from Safia and Prachi which made me feel very happy and is clear that the staff care about their jobs, even though the staff where polite the food was undercooked on multiple occasions during my stay which had also made vomit, i personally think the managers should be more on top of food quality.

GGuest UserWe reserved a 5-day period, including Christmas, because we were looking for a comfortable and quiet place. They first placed us in the 6th tower in the apartment 6B, but it was extremely noisy. The apartment is wide, was well clean and the team seems to be well professional, there is also a safety that is staying in the parking, but this detail with the floor and acoustics left unwanted. They moved us upstairs, 6C, to try to threaten the noise problem, but when other guests entered 6B, it was possible to hear TV, conversation, floor, everything! So if you are someone who needs quiet and a little silence to work, find another place. P-S: TV is not smart and almost no channel options, the washing machine wasn't working. I think that for £100 a day, they could improve these aspects!

GGuest UserReally helpful staff. Let us securely leave travel case before check-in time. Contacted us early (1PM) to let us have our apartment before the 3PM check-in. Apartment really is home from home! Fully kitted out kitchen. Modern furnishing, decoration and really clean. The apartments really our sound proofed and internally very quiet. Quiet complex and lift or stairs to aid access to apartments. Nice, warm and secure. Reception is hosted and even late at night you have an access code. The lovely lady on reception even said can call her if we could not gain entry! Perfect location - 2 minute walk to Oracle (shops) bars and restaurants. Even Sainsbury's is close so you can cook a meal in the kitchen. We guess the only thing to be aware is the complex is in a vibrant area and externally until 0200/0300 it is noisy so an earlyish night is not easy but this aside, well worth a stay.

GGuest UserI booked here for one night as was on site 20 mins down the road. I found the room to be basic, but everything I needed. I booked the En Suite Double Room as I didn't want to share a bathroom and didn't want to sleep on a single bed. It came with a little flat screen tv, a desk, a bed and 2 side drawers along with a little storage to hang up clothes and put the suitcase. The tap was missing the top cover for the cold tap, but it worked fine as did the hot water. I also found the room to be clean and the staff to be friendly. I paid extra to have the breakfast which came as 5 different options (I had the poached egg, sausage, bacon and mushrooms and 2 slices of toast) which was fine and couldn't complain. I feel like people are expecting the ritz accomodation for a low price? I knew what I was booking when I booked at £70, it did it's job and had no issues
