Although the location is conveniently located next to my office and they provide restaurant, bar, golf and spa services, the room maintenance is poorly lacking.
In the bathroom, tiles regrouting are required, silicone joint replaced and radiator replaced.
In the room, the window closure is not tight leaking warmth, the carpet is stained. Overall cleanliness is needed for the room price.

The Abbey is a very lovely hotel, set in beautiful surroundings. It’s clean and inviting. The bedrooms are spacious and I have to say the bed is the most comfortable that I’ve slept in at a hotel and believe me I’ve stayed at numerous hotels across the world.
The staff are welcoming, polite and professional. They’re very accommodating. I would definitely stay there again.

The room was clean and the staff were nice. I haven't tried the breakfast that was included in my booking as we missed it. They were only serving from 7am to 10am which I wasn't aware. We thought it will be until 11am just in time for the check out time. But overall it's still a good stay.

Stayed in family room, 23. Room in need of an update but it was clean, comfy and spacious. Nice big modern TV on wall.
Our room was close to the spa which we liked. The gym was very busy as open to members too. Spa Facilities were good although changing rooms needed a clean and refurb. There was a water aerobics class in the pool 6.15-7pm during our stay, it would have been nice to have been informed about this when we enquired about our use of the spa facilities, so we could work our visit to the spa around this as the pool couldn’t be used for 45mins and the music was loud (which we liked, but some people may not)
The food in the restaurant was beautiful, came out piping hot, good portions and full of flavour.
We did not have breakfast as had to leave early the next day.

Our hotel room was very cold, we were given a heater, which helped.
There was no warm breakfast first morning.
We did get refunded.

We had a family room which was a good size and spa and swimming facilities were good. But we felt the menu was overpriced, rooms a little dated and dusty and the shower needed a good deep clean

Disappointing is putting it mild!
Communal areas well decorated HOWEVER both family rooms that we were offered (as we complained about the initial room and just put up with the second room we were offered) shocking for a 4 star hotel. Black mold around windows, stains on the carpet, bed and walls, poorly fitted sockets, iron with a burnt surface, eye burning UV blue light in bathroom, unusable TV for first night (a staff member thought it was appropriate to spend almost 40mins in our room at 930pm at night trying to fix it) only to be told, maintenance would be on site at 730am, once he realised he couldn’t fix it.
Restaurant food a no better than pub food so much so that we tried the Marstons pub down the road which was 100% better
Would we stay again…NO!

Very good value for money . Excellent pool and spa facilities . Did have issue with TV not working but staff were more than helpful to rectify the situation and gave us discount on departure . Would definitely recommend and will be returning .
