"An incredible place that makes you want to return again and again! Waking up every morning to such a view is a true dream. The sunsets here are simply magical, and the sea is clean, warm, and inviting. Our villa wasn't new, but it had absolutely everything needed for a comfortable stay. Special thanks to the administrator, who was always reachable and promptly helped resolve any household issues. This place gave us wonderful memories and a feeling of complete relaxation. If we get the chance, we will definitely come back here again!"

"Staying on Manukan Island for just one day completely won me over – it's a solid 10/10! The price is a real bargain; you'd pay just as much for a decent hotel in Kota Kinabalu city. But here, you get so much more! They offer dedicated speedboat transfers, and staff even help with your luggage. Plus, there are welcome drinks and cold towels. Check-in is usually around 3 PM, but if you arrive early, you can start snorkeling right away. The afternoon is better for snorkeling than the morning, with an abundance of fish. We even found a small colony of Nemo – you just have to look for them! The jetty area is teeming with fish. In the morning, there were too many jellyfish, and I got stung a few times 😭. The room was very clean, and the air conditioning was excellent. I was so thrilled to get a room with a balcony on the second floor! There were even little snacks. There aren't many shops or drinks available on the island at night, so it's a good idea to bring extra supplies. As for power outages, they're not a big deal and usually end quickly. The Wi-Fi in the room was quite fast, especially near the sofa – more than enough. Once the day-trippers leave in the evening, it becomes incredibly romantic! It's super picturesque and perfect for photos 👍. Too bad videos are limited to 30 seconds, even with accelerated processing 😮💨"

"Arriving at Mantanani hotel was such a treat. Although it was approx 2 hour coach from KK city to the Jetti. All that hassle it is all worth it. Highly recommended as the water is like Maldives but better."

"The environment here is absolutely beautiful! It's a beachfront room with a stunning ocean view, and the room itself is spacious and bright. The staff are all very polite and enthusiastic. There are lots of little wild animals around, and falling asleep to the sound of the waves was lovely. However, there were quite a few small bugs, so definitely bring insect repellent. Overall, I'm very satisfied."

"What really makes this hotel shine are its private beach, the beautiful garden surroundings, and the thoughtful Chinese-speaking staff. I especially want to highlight the restaurant – the value for money is incredible! It was easily the best food and value we found during our trip to Malaysia. While breakfast was simple, it was perfectly sufficient. Ordering lunch here was an absolute steal! Just grab a coffee and head to the beach to feel the breeze and enjoy the view – it's so relaxing, you could easily spend a whole afternoon there. We even spotted squirrels and other small critters around the grounds. On the downside, it seems the hotel, possibly managed by Malaysian Chinese owners, has a somewhat relaxed approach to maintenance. The property shows its age a bit. If they just replaced the showerhead, fixed the toilet, and brightened up some of the lighting – just small updates – the overall feel would be significantly improved. The location is quite remote, so once you're there, just settle in and enjoy your time."

"Stayed at Kokol Haven Resort and truly enjoyed the breathtaking panoramic views overlooking Kota Kinabalu, especially the beautiful sunset moments that created unforgettable scenery alongside the natural mountain landscape and peaceful surroundings with cute, quiet cats. The hotel service was generally pleasant, and the dining environment was comfortable and relaxing, making it a great place to unwind while enjoying the stunning views. However, improvements are needed for the unstable electricity supply in the room, and it would be helpful to have better late-night counter service to respond promptly to customer phone calls."

"Service: The staff in every department were very helpful. When we mentioned it was our honeymoon, they even helped decorate the room. Room & Facilities: Our outdoor area directly faced the garden and the sea, offering a fantastic view. However, the indoor space was quite cramped, and the facilities were indeed outdated. There were also a lot of mosquitoes. The pool was nice, though. Food: The breakfast and dinner buffets were very crowded on weekends, and if you went later, some dishes were already gone. The weekday breakfast and dinner experience was much better, and the food actually tasted quite good."

"Chill and quiet. The phone signal was bad but they provided wifi (poor internet connection). They forgot to clean the table at the balcony. I still can see stains and spilled drinks on the table. The bed is okay. The bathroom is okay. The view from the balcony is beautiful. A very good place to enjoy the sunset."

"This hotel is about a 30-minute drive from the city center. I booked a beachfront cabin, and right outside the sliding door was the pool, which was cleaned daily by a local man. After crossing a lawn, you reach the beach. The water quality there isn't great, and it's not very clean, but you can still hear the sound of the waves from the room, which is a nice touch. The room has a millennium theme, so it feels a bit dated. The biggest drawback was the terrible internet connection. I couldn't connect to the Wi-Fi in my room at all; I had to go near the restaurant to get a signal, which is a really poorly designed Wi-Fi setup. Everything else was pretty much as expected."

"This is my fourth time staying at this hotel. The location is great, and it has a private beach, though it's not very big. The pool is quite large, but shallow, and this time it wasn't very clean. I mainly stay here for the convenience of island hopping from Jesselton Point. Finally, the hotel is a bit old, and the facilities aren't very new; the safe in my room (room 1057) was broken when I arrived. The bed is a bit too soft for my liking. Breakfast was very crowded (it was a holiday) and the taste was just average with not much variety. Other than that, everything else was okay."
