Golden Days

We've been visiting Golden days in Afandou for years lovey hotel with very welcoming owners. We enjoyed a great night of Bbq and karaoke 🎤 😀 We had a amazing week in September this year and can't wait to go again to see you all next year. 💗💗

Loved every minute of our three week stay we are back at the end off the month till the end off the season , the cleaner alma works from 6am non stop emptying the bins and making the beds , rooms are spotless but remember this is a two star hotel not a 5 star we opted to pay the extra and have the refurbished rooms with the new bathrooms really modern,wife loves to feed the cats in the garden in the morning it's now illegal in rhodes to mistreat them. During the three week stay only problem was people taking the towels down the beach and then demanding clean towels why not just buy a towel in the supermarket 5 euros .

I stayed here with my daughter it is the most filthiest.. most disgusting place on earth PLEASE DO NOT SPEND MONEY TO STAY IN THIS HOTEL . They kick the cats there are half eaten RATS on the premises

Golden Days is the perfect location to stay in Afandou. The rooms are basic but on reflection of how much we paid it was excellent value. Our beds were changed every day, our towels every other day. The staff were exceptionally friendly with us and helped us with anything we needed. Samuel the barman was a delight, we did have lots of laughs with him. We have stayed in many apartments in Greece, location wise this was perfect with lots of bars /tavernas and restaurants all in easy walking distance. The main square was especially great for bars and places to eat, whether you want to eat in or takeaway… in all my husband and I had an amazing, relaxing, fun holiday in Afandou and loved Golden Days.

Rooms very outdated and not cleaned properly.bathroom shockingly small.towels very small.bedsheets not changed all week.paid tax when we arrived then when checking out told us we hadnt paid it.air conditioning extra.paid it for 2 seperate nights but did not get it for full 24 hours.false advertising as there was no entertainment any evening also no food during the day as stated.pool very basic and area around pool not cleaned properly.

we arrived at 5am we registered paid bedroom tax, air con, safty deposit box. and then was shown to our room.. we were in room 44 a family room. there was three of us. four single beds quit a large room . one double wardrobe and two large draws not a lot of storage space for a family. fridge was small did'nt have an ice box . bathroom was a wet room really nice. but the show was old. when we opened the curtains to our horror we had'nt have an outside space no balcony or terrace. if we had of had this space we would of been happy. oh no remote for tv. asked for one they did not have one. So we asked for another room we really needed outside space. we waited three days then was finally ,moved. our new room was 112 it needed to be updated but it was clean and tidy. We had a balcony which we wanted. Room had two single beds and a put u up bed. beds were comfy. had a flat screen tv but not plug socket lol. small fridge no ice box. we hadnt got a bin for rubbish in room asked for one. reply was you have one in bathroom. this is the first hotel ive ever been in that didnt have a bin. Bathroom really needs updating. Toilet didnt flush properly then it took about 30 mins for cistern to fill. We told them they said they would sort it. never got done. Rooms were cleaned every day if we didnt make beds the bedding was changed and if we left the towels on the toilet seat they were also changed. Reception staff. The daughter in law to owner she was really lovely always pleasant and helped me sort out car hire and had probs with return transfer to airport and bless her she tried her best to sort it.. but i finished up doing it myself. the young girl on reception was lovely to. But the two men my god if they were to smile their faces would crack. they were so miserable. the young girl working on breakfasts and in bar until 4 pm was like a breath of fresh air. she was always wanting to help you if she could. Pool area was nice not enough beds though. i know it sounds like im doing lots of downers on this hotel. But it really wasnt that bad.. but would of been a lot better if the male staff could of been more friendly

We first came here about 10 years ago and things have not changed much. Some rooms have been upgraded. Still, the normal Greek small rooms and limited cooking space if you are self-catering. However, there are lots of Good places to eat and drink on your doorstep as the hotel is well-placed and with a swimming pool. (I think it may be the only one with a pool in the middle of the village. Small and very friendly.

Came on the opening day off the season , every year a few improvements to the hotel ,this year new card key access and new doors ,around the pool new sunbeds with really thick cushions, as usual everyone really friendly ,hotel really clean a little family run hotel and a great place to stay

Arrived for the end of season to top up the tan for the winter. As usual the staff very attentive, breakfast served fresh and on time every morning. I reviewed the last comment and as I remembered before there is a sign about the holiday tax , 0.50 euro per night which is law on greece and has been for a few years. Room cleaned every day fresh towels and sheets. Plenty off restaurants close by to taste great food . Will be back next year
