Wow! Just wow! From the moment of booking to saying farewell, everyone was beyond kind and helpful, the place was gorgeous and clean and perfect. We love the small atmosphere, it’s quiet and beautiful and in a fantastically central location. The people are helpful and knowledgeable and kind. I’m so grateful for a perfect anniversary trip and can’t wait to come back! The breakfast was INCREDIBLE!!!!!

We had a 2 room villa and the space and views were truly amazing. The food was great (we ate most meals on property). The staff was very kind, approachable and helpful. The front desk staff is awesome and will do anything in their power to ensure a great stay. However, they do tag team with the entire team so you will need to keep up with the schedule and details for any excursions carefully if you are communicating with them over email in advance. I didn’t and that was my mistake. Just read everything carefully to be sure you know things like which excursions require cash payment or the fine print for meet up details as an example. If you are from the US, you will likely want to go to the grocery store to stock up on water. Of course they will provide what you need on property but you will likely want the convenience of having plenty to grab and take with you wherever you go. If there was a place to refill reusable water bottle on property, I missed it.

My JFK to PDL flight was cancelled with no flights for 2 more days. This wiped out my trip. The hotel did not allow a credit / refund despite the extenuating circumstance. I would have been happy with a credit and would have gone back next spring. Be cautious booking here b/c there are so few flights into Azores...no room for error.

I can’t imagine a better, more beautiful hotel in the Azores. The service is excellent and the property stunning, even in the rain! The rooms all have lovely settings and views. There are several quiet places to relax, overlooking the beautiful black sand beach. The infinity pool is lovely as well. The staff really make the experience 5 star! Benjamin at the bar is gifted, the reception/ front desk staff wonderful, Tiago, Bianca and Barbara just to name a few. Sorry I can’t name everyone. The dining staff too, very accommodating. The resort feels smaller than 30 rooms, we never felt crowded and often remarked it felt we had the place to ourselves, even though the hotel was full. The Island has many interesting activities that the staff will help you arrange, but be sure to allow time to enjoy the property. Of course the sunny days are best, but we enjoyed watching the weather come and go on a rainy day. There were families with various age children and the hotel seemed to accommodate them well. I must add that the house cocktails feature local products and are not to be missed. The rooms have a small kitchen closet with hot plate, coffee machine etc. there is a fitness center and massage area, small but sufficient. We really appreciate the hotels efforts on sustainability. Like many visitors we’ve traveled around the world and find this to be amount our favorite hotels.

Outstanding hotel. One of the most beautiful hotels I stayed in. The people are incredibly kind and helpful. The property is just so beautiful. Stayed in many gorgeous five star hotels in the world, but this is definitely up there. My one small complaint would be that I wish breakfast had more variety

Nice resort next to the beach. Service is kind but unhelpful. Complaints are not taken seriously. The spa and gym are only available by reservation, which rarely fits into the program. The noise from the jacuzzi at night is louder than the sound of the wind. Menu and breakfast monotonious after a few days.

This place is amazing! The property is gorgeous, and the location is central to everything. The staff go out of their way to make your stay perfect! We stayed in a Retreat suite and it was huge! They really do think of everything. I’ve stayed in many beautiful places before but Santa Barbara Eco is top of our list! Don’t hesitate! Shout out to Bianca and Barbara who were so nice and helpful!!!
