Othon Palace Copacabana Rio

The room has lovely views to the beach the staff are very pleasant. I only had one problem with the nutritionist called Juliana that responded to an email I sent to her explaining about my son’s anaphylactic shock to dairy and unfortunately when we got their to the hotel it was her day off but she had no one ready to cater for my son first they offered him an apple and boiled egg and as soon as I spoke to the manager they made him pancakes scrambled eggs gave him biscuits. It was a shame that Juliana did not do her job properly causing me and my partner stress on our first day at the hotel. But next day they where ready for him and he also had a lovely breakfast just hope that Juliana learns how important it is to get ready for costumers that have severe allergies and treats them with more respected. Apart from this incident everything else was spot on I also called their 24 hr service and order my son some pasta to take to our travel back home and everything was perfect.

Location is great, right at Copacabana beach. The hotel has its own cafe at the beach, where you can get towels and chairs/umbrellas (subject to availability though). Lots of various restaurants and cafes nearby, couple of supermarkets within a walking distance. We arrived a couple of hours earlier than check-in time, but the room was ready, which was nice. And in general the staff was great. The breakfast is the same during all the stay. Nothing special, but plenty of food is available. The room is a bit dated, but has all necessary things (kettle, coffee machine, fridge, safe, etc) and the view is magnificent. Nice small pool on the top floor. During our stay it was not crowded, but probably during the peak periods the size could be an issue. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

view is amazing. rooftop is awesome. food is mid and overpriced. gym is a basement dungeon. staff aren’t the friendliest or most helpful. basic room has view of a building. overcharged me upon checkout (40$ and i only drank one water bottle).

Unfortunately can’t recommend the hotel. First of all the hotel is quite old and the room was smelly. The amenities need to be repaired or change. The towels should be definitely change, they are too old to be used, the water was licking from the shower all the time, so the foot towel was wet all the time. The bed cover was with the stains. The view from the balcony is wonderful on Copacabana. The breakfast is very average, the food is not tasty. The swimming pool is great to enjoy sunbathing, the view is also amazing. The cleaning was awful, sometimes they come to clean at 5pm!!! Sometimes even didn’t come, but the beach hotel should be definitely clean every day. The gym is not just belong to the hotel, but also public. The hotel has its own place on the beach, so you can take there towels, chairs and umbrellas.
