Seriously this hotel does not deserve any more than a 2 on a scale of 5. We had several problems (glass splitters and a shower head that did not stay fixed). Also a dog tax of 30€ is in no way justified. In Relais&Chateaux one pays less and has mostly a dog bed and bowls.

Beautiful surroundings Very nice hotel close to a small lake, short walk to train station to easy take you to e.g. Brussels. Bed madrass was a bit hard. Great breakfast. Very nice staff.

Why a top rating? Because of the building (indeed a manor house), the location (quiet, slightly up a hill, lake view) and the large room (old fashioned classy, large balcony). Having said that, this hotel will not please everyone. Check in is at Martin’s Chateau du Lac, about a 10 minute walk (or a quick drive) from the Manor and you need your room key to enter the building, as there’s no staff present. Breakfast (very good) is also in the main hotel. But the atmosphere, adjacent free parking, a good night’s sleep and value for money earn it top points in my view.

Eens aangekomen moesten we van het manoir terug naar het chateau om in te chekken.De kamer is heel erg verouderd,dringend aan renovatie toe.Er is ook niemand aan de receptie,wat als je als gast een beroerte krijgt...organisatie is alles behalve goed,avondmaal kon daar ook niet,we hadden het beidem gehad en we checkten dezelfde avond terug uit.
