Mohammad S M Alhabashi
I swear to God, this hotel is absolutely terrible, and I regret booking and staying there!
It might be the worst hotel I've ever stayed in on all my travels!
I'll list the reasons in detail, without adding or omitting anything:
1- The price I paid, 360 dinars for two nights, is extremely high! It's completely unrealistic!
2- The building is old, the services are mediocre, the cleanliness is terrible, etc. It's not befitting a Fairmont hotel! It's not befitting a 5-star hotel! The level I experienced was more like a 3-star hotel!
3- The building is old, gloomy, and feels abandoned!
4- I asked them to put my room near the elevator, but they put it in the middle of a corridor!
5- My room number, 455, on the fourth floor, is full of dust! It smells like dirt! As soon as I laid my head on the bed and pillow, a spider landed on me!!!! This proves that the room hasn't been occupied in ages!
6- It's hot during the day, and I wanted to turn on the air conditioning! The air conditioner was broken; it made a noise but didn't cool anything!
7- I found fruit peels behind a curtain!
8- The fruit basket in the room contained fruit that wasn't appealing to eat; it was rather old and of poor quality!
9- The shower chair in the bathroom was covered in a lot of dirt when the shower water ran over it!
10- The staff at Restaurant 360 were extremely rude. I went to have lunch and asked the foreign receptionist at the door how much the meal cost per person. She told me 285 riyals, and I said, "Okay, it's fine." I went into the restaurant and took a plate to put my food on! The receptionist behind me asked in a very loud voice, "Do you agree with the price of the meal?!" Why did I go into the restaurant and take a plate?! Because I agree with the price! If I didn't agree, I would have turned back and left! Unfortunately, her question was rude and unprofessional!
11- There's a cafe outside the hotel that serves shisha! You order shisha, and it has to be billed separately! They require a separate bill for tea and a separate charge for tea alone!!!! I've never seen such a ridiculous policy in a hotel anywhere in the world!!!!
12- Most importantly, there are two porters, one a burly Egyptian with a slightly overweight build, and the other an African, who work the morning shift. Honestly, the way they treat guests is like that of pickpockets and con artists! It's practically begging, officially sanctioned!!!! How is this possible??? I came home from work and gave the African porter my bag and told him to take it to my room, giving him a 10 riyal tip… I entered the elevator and was surprised to see an Egyptian porter follow me with my bag and a sack!!!!! I asked him, "Where's the African? I agreed with him to take the bag to my room and gave him a 10 riyal tip!!!!! Why are you following me with my bags!!!!?" He told me, "The African porter's shift is over!!!!" The next day, I asked the African porter why he hadn't sent the bag and sack to my room!! I gave him a 10 riyal tip to take them to my room!!!! He told me the Egyptian told him not to leave until he got his share of the tip!!!!
13- The bed is absolutely uncomfortable. Six pillows on one bed?! People usually put two, and some hotels even put four! Why did you put six? You made it so cramped I had to throw them in the closet!
- The hotel is extremely far from the center of Riyadh!! There are no markets, restaurants, malls, or anything nearby! The hotel is close to the airport and the Economic Gateway!! Of course, I booked it because it's close to the Economic Gateway, as I have work to do, and my visit was for business, not tourism!!!!
- You'll ask, "All these negatives and you didn't change it?!" I arrived at the hotel from Kuwait, exhausted and sleepy, and all I wanted was to go to bed!! I'm here for work, and my mind and time are occupied with it. I don't have time to look for another hotel or move my belongings!!
- I swear by God Almighty that everything I've said is true, and I will not forgive them for the poor reception, the terrible room, or anything else!!!! I don't recommend anyone stay at this hotel.
