Great location, nicely decorated room with air conditioning which is essential in this heat. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a pleasant stay, will definitely come back again!

Very satisfied. The location is right on the Tiber River, very close to Piazza del Popolo, and within walking distance to the Spanish Steps, the Vatican, and the Trevi Fountain. The service is excellent and the hotel facilities are very new. It is a stylish hotel.

The hotel's interior was nice, but the service was infuriating. I booked a Level 4 Deluxe Room for three nights. On the first day, I was given a second-floor room with a sloping roof (there were two small windows on the sloping roof covered by curtains) without windows. It rained all night, and the raindrops hitting the roof were very loud, keeping me awake all night. On the second day, I requested a room with normal windows and sunlight, and the front desk gave me a room on the fourth floor. This room had a constant noise from the ceiling. I called housekeeping to investigate, and he confirmed that he heard a very clear sound, like it was coming from a microphone. He said he would report it to the first floor and the front desk would call me to change rooms. However, by 8 pm, no one had contacted me, so I emailed the front desk to report the excessive noise from the ceiling preventing me from sleeping. I also checked Ctrip and found two rooms available at the same price for the same room type, and sent a screenshot to the front desk. The front desk replied in an email that, according to the manager's instructions (even though Ctrip had rooms available at the same price), they could only offer me a classic room (level 1) at most. I naturally disagreed. If they were just trying to fob me off with the most basic room, they should refund the price difference. But the front desk replied again saying they wouldn't refund the difference! This is how this hotel is managed—they don't care about their guests' well-being at all! I booked three nights; theoretically, I could change rooms every day, especially since the noise from the room prevented me from sleeping! A bad review is a must! For nearly 3000 yuan a night, the service is completely disproportionate!

The location is great. The food is so-so. The hotel is very clean. However, the overall atmosphere is dark and gloomy, like staying in a cave.

I chose this newly opened hotel without hesitation after reading reviews praising its cleanliness and friendliness. It lived up to the reviews. The interior and layout of the hotel rooms, lobby, and bar were stylish and beautiful. I also appreciated the fact that the rooms had wooden floors instead of carpeting. The bathrooms and bedding were spotless, which was a real plus. I always bring my own shower filter with me when I travel abroad, and this was the first hotel I've stayed in where the filter didn't discolor. The hotel itself isn't very large, and the number of guests is relatively small, which was also a plus. The only downside is that drinking water is only provided on the first day. Everyone was incredibly friendly: the person who helped with luggage, the receptionist, the room attendant, and the breakfast staff.

Much like its poet namesake The Goethe in Rome is one of a kind. Carrying on the legacy of the 19th century Grand Tour it aims to inspire wanderlust and awaken curiosity. Many of its details hark back to that fabled time from antiques and chandeliers to vintage trunks and richly patterned walls. But it is also very much of the modern day. Bedrooms and suites are sleek and contemporary spaces. As is the intimate Wellness spa and the elegant bar and restaurant. Your days can start at The Goethe over a morning cappuccino while planning your adventures. Retrace the steps of the famed German poet himself with a visit to Museo Casa di Goethe before admiring the ancient walls of Castel Sant Angelo on the banks of the Tiber River one of his favourite places. His statue can be spotted in Villa Borghese a must-visit park where nature blends beautifully with art and culture. Back at The Goethe spend time in the spa to soothe weary legs. Affinity restaurant reinvents Italian traditions and cuisine with plant-based ingredients along with the freshest seafood. While the lustrous golden bar is a sophisticated spot to relax with a pre-dinner cocktail or post-dinner nightcap. And then to bed to dream of all the treasures of the Eternal City. The Goethe Hotel is a Small Luxury Hotels of the World property.
