Holiday Inn ROME - EUR PARCO DEI MEDICI by IHG

I was very satisfied with my previous stays, but this time, please see the pictures. I told the front desk before leaving in the morning that the toilet tank water pressure was very weak. When I returned at 4 PM, the tank still wasn't fixed, all my belongings were still in the same place, and the room hadn't even been cleaned. I still have three more days here, but they said I couldn't switch rooms! 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃

I've been to Holiday Inns in the US, and it made me realize just how great this particular Holiday Inn is. This one is in the suburbs and hosts a lot of business meetings and events, so there are many business travelers. Taking a taxi to tourist attractions is quite expensive from here. The rooms are spacious, and while the hotel is a bit older, it's well-maintained. The breakfast is fantastic.

The room was spacious, and having a kettle was an absolute lifesaver! The front desk staff spoke excellent English. There's also a small bar and restaurant on the ground floor, plus useful amenities like a printer. The surrounding area is lovely, though it's a bit far from the city center. However, it's a great option if you're flying out of Fiumicino the next day, as there's a direct train to the airport that takes about 30 minutes. Just be aware of strikes or delays (delays are pretty common). A little tip: technically you need a ticket for the train, but I couldn't find the red ticket machine at the station closest to the hotel, so I just got on without one and no one checked. Still, it's always best to buy a ticket to avoid any fines. The platform closest to the hotel goes towards the airport, and the one across the tracks goes to the city – don't mix them up!

The facilities are quite old, and the soundproofing is extremely poor, which really affected my rest. Breakfast was just okay, at 20 Euros per person; it's fine if you just want a quick bite. Its main advantage is convenience, but the hygiene was only average.

The hotel's environment is absolutely beautiful, and the outdoor pool is stunning. The air nearby is fresh, and they offer an airport shuttle, though you need to book it in advance with a quick phone call.

Poor soundproofing, and the location is quite out of the way. You have to take a train to get to any attractions.
