Hotel Darival Nomentana

We booked 3 nights here and stayed 1 before leaving and finding a new hotel. All of the room windows had metal shutters on them from the outside (like the ones on shop fronts), it like was being inside a cell. The room appeared to be clean enough but the bathroom was not. There were hairs (what appeared to be *****) on the shower walls and the toilet brush was visibly covered in faecal matter. Sadly my partner woke up with small but very itchy bites all over his body, particularly bad on his back and shoulders. The location is not great at all - albeit it does tell you on the site it is 9km from the city centre - we just didn’t realise how isolated it actually was. There was a lot of noise from outside the hotel and from other people in the hotel halls during the night. The staff were all really nice and friendly, couldn’t fault them!

My wife and I had booked this hotel in October, however the photos online were nothing like what the hotel actually looked like. The attached photo actually shows roller shutters on all balconies , which could not be open or removed, which was not advertised at all! We discussed asking for a new room however thought these must be in place for our safety. Trying to sleep at night there were groups of people making noise on the street all night, and when I woke up in the morning I was covered in red, swollen bite marks which looked to me as if they were bed bugs. These are still visible nearly 2 weeks after arriving at the Joe. Not as advertised on the web pages, would not recommend staying here at all!

A lovely hotel, kind and attentive staff, good value for money. Clean and efficient just what you need for a trip to Rome. A bus trip is about an hour to the centre so allow enough time. Great coffee, good breakfast and a nice pizzeria just down the road. Thank you 🙏
