Hotel Philia

Great location near the train station. The room was spacious, clean, and close to several nice restaurants. Also some groceries.Public transport was easy to access. Many food shops, you can take away, enjoy the food in room has air conditioning However, there was only one bin in the room, located in the bathroom. If the bathroom door was left open overnight, an unpleasant smell could be noticeable in the morning. The lift is quite old and stops working if users forget to close the door properly, which is inconvenient when returning tired after a day of sightseeing.

Hotel Philia is a good place to stay, especially for backpackers. It’s only around a 3-minute walk from Roma Termini, making it very convenient for transportation. If you want to explore Rome on foot, this location is perfect, you can start your walk from the hotel and pass by many iconic spots around the city. The area is practical, and it’s a great base for discovering Rome. And a lot of Cheap souvenirs and good restaurant around the Area

The room was clean however the bathroom, while almost brand new and lovely, seems to have septic ventilation issues. The smell was strong and hard to tolerate. The building itself is tired and in need of extensive renovations but has tons of old world charm and potential.

We were able to check in a little early, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, our experience was let down by the customer service. We had an issue with the room key, and the lady at reception was quite rude when helping us. The staff came across as passive-aggressive and made us feel as though we were at fault, even though the issue was not caused by us. The room was adequate for a one-night stay, but it is quite outdated. The shower had no hot water and the water pressure was very poor. Both the shower and the air conditioning leaked water while in use, leaving floods on the floor. We were also unable to open or close the shutters, as they appeared to be jammed shut. Overall, the hotel was acceptable for one night, but the poor customer service and maintenance issues meant it did not meet our expectations.
