Suzhou Hotels with Rooftop Pools

"It was my birthday on Monday, so I chose a short trip to Suzhou for the weekend. Choosing Wugong Hotel was absolutely the right decision. The garden-style hotel itself is a scenic wonder at every turn, and the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, making guests feel right at home! Amy at the Pagoda Shadow Cafe in the hotel was warm and humorous. Plus, guests can freely enter and exit the Panmen Scenic Area, which is connected to the hotel. It's beautiful both during the day and at night when the lights are on. I've already decided to bring my mom back here for the ***** New Year to experience it too!"

"This trip exceeded all my expectations, I'm incredibly satisfied! Even though Ctrip customer service didn't fully communicate my requests, the hotel was very generous. They upgraded me directly to an executive lake view room, which instantly elevated the whole experience. Getting an upgrade, especially to such a great room type during a holiday, is truly rare. The room offered views of both the lake and the 'Big Trousers' building. The hotel's service was impeccable; they were so good with kids, even giving them balloons and rings. All in all, it's an excellent family-friendly hotel. The playground is also better than those at most other hotels. The pool was great too, though we didn't get to try the outdoor one during our winter visit – we hope to return in the summer to experience it. I would definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Suzhou for three reasons: first, its excellent location; second, its service quality and standards far surpass those of Crowne Plaza; and third, the hotel is very accommodating and good to children."

"What we liked: Spacious and nice room design. Separate bath and toilet. Toilet has automatic flush, seat cover is also provided. Lots of snacks and amenities provided. There are amenities at the front desk such as disposable bath cover, disposable floss, mask etc you can collect from front desk. You can also ask for warm bottled water. Responsive staff, can communicate your needs via WeChat, very convenient. There are 3 lifts, very convenient. Snacks and drinks are free. Bath robes, room and bath slippers are provided too. Awesome that we stayed on the same floor as the lobby, very convenient. Location is near metro, malls, shops, and attractions, very convenient. I like that there are bath robes and different types of towels provided. What we think can be improved: We thought the big bath was indoors and wouldn’t be so cold in the winter but it has two open windows and it gets quite cold when the wind blows. It takes about 1.5h to fill up about 60-70% of the tub and you need to tap every 30 minutes or so to keep the water flowing. Quite time consuming to get it ready for a bath. Housekeeping is inconsistent, the cleaner left a towel on the floor on one of the days, left a cup unwashed, took away our straws and left the sink cover by the sink instead. They have a centralised heating system so it can get quite hot but the staff offered us a fan and we opened the balcony door for wind to enter so it was comfortable to sleep at night. There was some drilling going on in the early morning around 9-10am, it was just opposite our room so it disrupted my sleep, would be better for them to schedule it during non-sleeping hours. When we were checking out, the staff at the counter shared about them getting audited and if we don’t give a five star review, they will get a fine, I had never heard of it from other hotels and found it quite strange. She was insistent on us doing it on the spot even though we have to catch a train, that was not pleasant. We just went ahead to rush for our train. Not much to watch on the TV unfortunately."

"This hot springs resort on the far side of Suzhou from Shanghai depicts itself honestly in the photos...and they were very kid friendly. My children had a great time in the various pools and the restaurant/lobby staff were very accommodating. I have already recommended this place to two friends with small children. The hot springs aren't open until the afternoon though, so you won't get a dip in the morning before you check out. I'd recommend getting to the hotel close to check-in time or a little before to maximize time enjoying the pools. The breakfast was big, but mostly Chinese dishes. The area around the hotel has an eco village but it is mostly vendors and roads with cars and bikes flying past...a safety concern when traveling with kids. We didn't get a great feeling of nature here, although we did find one pathway up the nearby mountain which was fun."

"Traveling with my parents, the hotel thoughtfully arranged two rooms closest to the common areas for us. The room layout was excellent, and the facilities were convenient. Although the restaurant didn't have a vast selection of dishes, it was sufficient, and the food tasted great. The hotel's location is easily accessible by car directly to the entrance. Turning right outside brings you straight to Pingjiang Road Pedestrian Street. Driver Master Zhou also provides rides to nearby attractions and shares insights into Suzhou's history and unique characteristics. "A pretty standard hotel. While most other aspects were acceptable, the numerous neglected areas with poor hygiene were simply unacceptable. The bathtub's pipes were severely molded and rusted. When I asked for it to be addressed, their explanation was appalling: 'Nobody uses the bathtubs anymore,' 'We're too busy to clean everything,' and 'It hasn't been pulled out and checked in a year; no one uses it, no one complained, you're the only one who noticed.' This attitude is completely unacceptable. Regardless of whether guests use a facility or not, it should always be kept clean. And for a guest's feedback to be turned into their own fault is just outrageous."

"It was already evening when we arrived, and the hotel's entrance lights were especially beautiful, creating a delightful and warm atmosphere. Our butler, Molly, was incredibly thoughtful; she confirmed all our holiday arrangements in advance, helped decorate the room, and even surprised us with a lovely and delicious chocolate cake. She was still replying to messages quite late, which I felt a bit bad about. We had a wonderful weekend here, and I'm very grateful for Molly's hard work. The Four Seasons is truly captivating; I definitely want to bring my family back next time."

"It's absolutely no surprise this B&B has been crowned the most beautiful in Zhouzhuang Ancient Town for several years running! The owner's design perfectly blends ancient charm with modern comfort; every single corner is a picturesque delight, offering endless photo opportunities. What truly touched my heart was the proprietress's exceptional kindness. She welcomed us with refreshing watermelon and snacks right when we arrived, and even had more thoughtfully prepared for us after a long day of exploring. The beautifully designed courtyard, complete with fish, turtles, and a swimming pool, adds so much character. It genuinely offers a unique and enchanting take on the classic beauty of a Jiangnan water town."

"It was my first time to visit Qidu. The first thing I had to do was choose a hotel. So I saw a hot spring hotel on Ctrip, named Suzhou 0572 Taihu Hot Spring Hotel. I booked it for three days in a row. On the first day I checked in, it was raining.
