Taipei Hotels with Rooftop Pools

"They have kindly upgraded us to rooms next to elevator with balcony for better ventilation. Even at lower level the view of Taipei is unbeatable. We like the wooden floor much better. Because of renovation at the separate bldg, they’ve used strong aroma to cover the smell. That side has carpet floor which will suit some of the travellers. A few boutiques at main bldg, selling special fashion & accessories. Hope we could stay for longer next time to read the exhibition at V floor. Those are precious history of how the hotel has developed since 1940s. Buses to Jiantan only operates on weekends- we as Japanese cannot read the sign & waited in the wind for 10+ min. Luckily a lady asked the concierge & figured out what’s going on. We took taxi instead."

"Choosing hotels for my Taiwan trip took nearly a week because I can be quite picky about accommodations. ILLUME turned out to be the perfect choice, meeting all my priorities. From the moment I dropped off my luggage in the elegant lobby, I felt welcomed. The staff was friendly and even accommodated my request for an early check-in, allowing me to settle in two hours ahead of the standard 4 PM check-in time. I was assigned a room next to the sauna and steam room, which I appreciated for its convenience. However, there were some noises in the evening from nearby banquet events and guests doing laundry, but as someone who tends to stay up late, it didn't bother me at all. The gym is shared and well-equipped, typically not crowded except during peak hours when fitness classes draw in more guests. My room was clean and received daily housekeeping, although there were a couple of times when the cups weren't cleaned. I understand they might have thought I was still using them, so no complaints there. It’s also worth noting that there’s a 7-11 convenience store just downstairs, connected directly to the hotel lobby, where they sell Taiwan's famous branded cakes like 太陽餅 and 鳳梨蘇. Plus, there are numerous buses nearby, making transportation super convenient—I didn’t even need to rely on the subway! I really enjoyed the air conditioning—it was cool enough for a comfortable night’s sleep. Overall, I had a fantastic stay and will definitely return without hesitation!"

"Did a short trip getaway after Guangzhou meeting. Hotel location has lots of Michelin food and as well great for shopping . Easy access by train, taxi or private car . Would recommend the hotel for stay due to it amenities nearby. Do note room is very basic hence toiletries like tooth brush , shaver and etc . Best to bring your own . Walk out main entrance of hotel u turn right there is a a shop called Taiwan CLM self made bag. Good quality and reasonable price . Food wise lot of choices nearby and round the corner You be spoilt for choices . Front counter manager Joshua is upcoming and also friendly . Minor incident happened and they admit their issue. This is very good that show the hotel has high standard of taking care of client item. Any damages they inform . Hotel is usually packed so do take note if you wish to ask for late checkout sometime is difficult ."

"The staff was super friendly and helpful. Knowing that we are staying to celebrate our anniversary, they upgrade our room, where it is super spacious and awesome. We have an extremely pleasant stay here. Will definitely come stay again! :)"

"The hotel is conveniently located, very close to Shilin Night Market and easy to find. The rooms, while compact, are fully equipped with everything you need. Overall, it offers excellent value for money and is ideal for both business travelers and short leisure stays. The service quality was also good. My only minor complaint is that the gym was a bit small, so I didn't get a chance to use it. I would definitely consider staying here again in the future."

"The hotel is in a great location, it has a lot of potential and you can tell they have spent a lot of money on the fit-out but I would say whoever is the general manager has not come from an international hotel brand and they just made everything so confusing with so many rules and procedures. I booked a room rate which meant I couldn't check in until 8pm which is like what a love hotel would do. I mean if they want to be a premium hotel why would you even offer this. The dry cleaning is a nightmare with free underwear and socks cleaning after two days but only one pair per day and and only this and only that and you have to use a special bag. Why make everything so confusing. I'd rather just pay for the laundry then learn all the rules. The tap in the bathroom is like a designer tap and it's extremely difficult to adjust the temperature and turn on and off. Outside all of this the electric curtains are nice, the remote control that controls everything is very good, the nano jet bath tub is nice and the sound bar in the room is nice but not so nice when your neighbour has it up super loud so you can hear it from next door. The lobby is weird, feels cold and empty with nowhere to sit and a pool and empty spa. I did enjoy my stay but I'd probably stay somewhere else unless I could get the deal super cheap but the whole place felt a bit of a miss."

The facilities feel somewhat outdated, though they were still functional. Additionally, while most staff were courteous, one gentleman at the front desk seemed less welcoming—a more consistent level of hospitality would enhance the guest experience. Lastly, the check-in and check-out times felt quite restrictive. Earlier check-in and later check-out options would make stays more convenient for guests. Despite these points, I enjoyed my time here and would consider returning. With some adjustments, this could be an even better stay!"

The location is very convenient, close to Shilin Night Market and the MRT, but still quiet enough for a relaxing stay. Facilities such as the rooftop pool, fitness center, and lounge area give a real luxury resort feeling. Overall, this is a fantastic 5-star hotel in Taipei, and it is easy to recommend it to anyone looking for high-quality service and comfort."
