JA Enchanted Island Resort Seychelles

Very beautiful hotel, we liked that very much!

Well, we had an amazing 2 weeks, just what we wanted ... Total relaxation! We couldn't really couldn't fault it. A very small island, with only 13 rooms, this means there is also a small "intimate" staff team, that you get to know and they get to know you (and REALLY look after you). With two weeks eating in the same restaurant (apart from lunch on a few days out) You would think you might get board with the menu, but you just don't! it is varied and wide, (and we don't eat meat!!) and nothing is too much trouble to change if you ask Go half board, that's our advice! Location is just out of this world, we sent a picture of our view from our window home to family, and people in the UK thought it was AI generated! The hotel is in the middle of the Seychelles National Marine park, we were on the West side, which we think is the best to stay, but, as all beaches are public, the West side can be slightly well visited on Saturdays and Sundays. As with other private islands we have visited, you are pleasantly "captive" and so food and drink extras are expensive, but you have to understand that they have supply challenges, and if you can afford to stay.... You can afford to pay!! There is a very limited little gift shop which we think takes prices to a whole new level, but you don't have to shop there, Victoria is only 20 mins by boat and taxi and a great town to shop and eat. Take a Kayak to Moyenne for a walk and lunch (Kayaks are free at the hotel... Pre book to be sure they are available! If you are looking for total relaxation, or a few days experiencing island life, this is a lovely place. It has a gym, which we used most days, very small, but then with only 13 rooms your chances of sharing it with somebody else are very slim !! And from the Manager all the way through, management, reception, restaurant staff, room service, pool staff, gardeners, Boat crews, .....ALL the staff were lovely to us! PS ....If you get the chance go to the spa..... We tried it all too late! It was a great massage

The staff is warm, welcoming and does everything they can to make you thrive. However, when you book a Villa superior with private direct beach access (at 1.200€/night) with pictures on the hotel page showing pristine beaches with no people at all, certainly you would think that you can look forward to a secluded hideaway perfect for spending a part of your honeymoon? Well, I guess we were somewhat naïve. Upon arrival, you are quickly informed that the beach surrounding the island is in fact a public beach, and that «some» people might travel here in the weekends. This is as good as an understatement as you get, with upwards to 15 tourist boats with 10 people in each anchoring here from 10-17 ALL WEEK, playing music, shouting, racing jetskies, leaving food scraps, and even changing diapers on the last step of the «private access» stair from your villa. Not exactly creating the best atmosphere to foster love. When it comes to the accommodation, although the Villa was nice enough considering the age, the regular cleaning was done by broom and mop, meaning that the carpet under the bed was never cleaned. At least it smelled like that, reeking of something best described as a mix of feet and urine. When made aware, the staff took action and removed the carpet without any hesitation (which had been left unmoved for so long that it had to be scraped off the floor, which as a consequence had to be refurbished with oil). This should however not be necessary and is somewhat below expectations for a 5-star hotel at this price level. It should also be noted that this is not an all inclusive resort, where full board means that all drinks (even fizzy water) is something you pay handsomely for (with cocktails averaging at 30€ when vat and service charge is included!) making the stay even more expensive. We want people to decide for themselves, leaving out a few more minor details others have also previously pointed out in their reviews, but hopefully people can check out other sites* in the amazingly beautiful and wonderful Seychelles as well, which is what tripadvisor is here for.  (*Where, in the advertising jungle of Google, you may ask? We can certainly recommend the gem «La Belle Tortue» if you want something better than JA Enchanted in all ways (food, service and location) at half the price, where you actually get the secluded hideaway feeling we were looking for for our honeymoon).

A beautiful property. Anyone looking for seclusion and privacy will find it here. The staff is very attentive and exceptionally friendly. Requests are fulfilled immediately. On weekends, especially on Sundays, there are many day trips with boats in the area. Loud music can be heard until after sunset. During weekdays, however, it was very quiet. If one wishes to criticize, one really has to search very carefully for flaws. You quickly become accustomed to the excellent service and the friendliness of the staff. Perhaps for this reason, we noticed that on the day we had paid for a late check-out, there was no further room service provided (bath towels, towels, drinking water). During dinner, the smoking area could be adjusted according to the wind direction so that the smoke does not spread across the entire restaurant. However, there were so few guests on site that this disturbance occurred only once during dinner and once at breakfast. If you look for criticism, you will always find something. Therefore, I would like to emphasize that as a couple, we found exactly what we were looking for in this hotel: peace, privacy, relaxation, a wonderful beach, and giant tortoises.
