The experience at Jewel Resort was not what I anticipated. I was hoping for a more authentic experience and the resort cater to more American. If you are seeking a more authentic experience, this is not the resort for you. The customer service was mixed. There was lack of communication with staff starting with check in. After a long flight and arrived at the check in window the front desk continuously informed us that our room would be ready in 15 minutes... Our room wasn't ready until 1 1/2 hours later and although we were seated by close to the front desk and ask if they can informed us when our room is ready: no one came and notify us. The resort was not what we imagined as it it a bit outdated.
Areas such as buffet and hibachi had great customer services, but areas such as the one by the pool side had terrible customer service. There wasnt communication pertaining ordering food and once we order (burger) it took over an hour (there was only a couple other people within the area). Only once we were leaving the area is when we were told that our meal was ready. There were some plus such as the night club, bar, and excursions. Overall, I was disappointed by the experience. I would return to Jamaica, but will not return to Jewel resort.
