Made a last minute booking to stay the night after touching down in Gatwick at night with a migraineq, not knowing how isolated the place was. Its was dark and eerily quiet to get to, room was without heating and the hot water kettle was rusty and peeling. Still for the price, a very decent place to near the airport that offers a phone to directly call for United cars shuttl
Response from Property: Thank you for your detailed review. We’re glad you found our location convenient for the airport and appreciated the value for the price. However, we're sorry to hear about the issues you faced with the heating and kettle. Your feedback helps us improve, and we’ll address these concerns right away. We hope you felt better after your rest, and we appreciate your understanding.

Brilliant little place had the basics not much else but nice clean bed to sleep and nice view of the approaching aircraft at Gatwick. Little bit of mold in the shower but not so bad it was the end of the world. Nice and friendly staff and tea and coffee provided.
Response from Property: Thank you for your feedback! We're glad to hear you enjoyed the view and found the bed comfortable. We apologize for the mould in the shower and will address it immediately. It's great to know our staff made you feel welcome. We hope to see you again soon!

Service is good. I was unlucky because of the bad weather, so the internet did not work and I could not open the room with my card. I was able to enter my room with the help of the employee. This took a while to get resolved. Great bed.

Only gave one star because zero isn't an option. Room was dirty. Duvet had a large stain. Bed was about 3/4 of a standard double (I would guess 4 ft). Bathroom dirty. We came down to breakfast to find absolute!y no staff. Another couple pointed out that the milk in the small fridge was curdled and no food anywhere. Tried calling hotel contact number given but it went straight to answer machine. Had to go into town for breakfast. Emailed hotel a week ago to ask for refund of breakfast cost (£13.98) and, perhaps unsurprisingly, have heard nothing. I have no idea how they have the review score they do IF they are genuine. Would strongly recommend staying away.

Be aware that unless you have a sat nav you wouldn’t find this hotel easily ,especially at night ,it is in a remote spot down narrow country lanes .We had a delayed flight so arrived late but we did ring to warn them . We arrived late and the person there told us breakfast was between 7- 9 am . The room was very small but clean although the bed was only y a three quarter size .We went to breakfast at 8 o’clock but were astonished to find no staff in hotel at all !! There was a small table top fridge with a jug of milk that turned out to be off and rancid ,there was no food for breakfast at all .There were cupboards under the dresser ,all empty ,another couple came down along with a single man ,we waited a while in vain . I rang the hotel number ,it was ringing in the locked tiny office ,went to unavailable. The front door was unlocked ,really weird !!Next time I will stick to the travel lodge in Crawley

Excellent value, ideal for an event we attended at the K2 in Crawley. Very quiet and remote spot in the countryside, will be using again when we next visit the K2. Free parking, buffet continental breakfast was fine for us and needed to grab and go.

Receptionist polite but he didn't advise of any breakfast options available, no lounge, no bar and room decor in bad condition with parts of wall paper missing, was told not to use certain sockets in room as it would trip electrics out in hotel. Carpet looked dirty and grout on tiles very poor. Overall not a pleasant experience

This hotel will charge you at least twice and make multiple attempts to bill you, claiming payment hasn't gone through. Have passed on to eBookers and ******* - meanwhile, you can help yourself, by staying elsewhere.

As others have mentioned, an awful situation with payment. Hustled into a cramped office and asked to read card details to feed into a web portal. (As others have said, I needed a moment to check if I had paid online). I couldn't use my phone to pay as they have no card terminal (these devices are inexpensive, and I can't see why a hotel wouldn't have this - if you genuinely want to improve the experience, don't cram guests into that nasty office, and get a terminal.). So, not a great start, tense and stressful. Knowing I would only lose money and check in somewhere expensive at short notice, with great regret I decided to stay. I'm sitting exams at the CAA and just needed somewhere simple to stay - this hotel was about the worst choice I could have made. Having had multiple error messages come up on this web portal, I checked my phone's banking app, which showed clearly a payment. The hotel staff insisted "no, it says 'hasn't paid' on my screen". This was a Sunday evening - banking doesn't necessarily flow instantly!" I just about got them to agree to wait until morning, as I was staying two nights. The following day - after exams, I remind you - I returned to my room, locked out. I could only return following a second full payment. "Of course, if we find it's a mistake, we'll refund you" I IS a mistake, I said. On my phone app - two clear payments. "Well, you see, they're not showing on my system". I had already forewarned my bank - I only stayed because I needed the room - as others have said, do they want double payment for what? Banking on interest? Float for some other purpose? I should have left - what an awful awful hotel, please, don't book Waterhall, and I urge eBookers, ******* et al to remove this listing. It's a sham. I felt so uncomfortable and slept lightly - hardly what you need when you have pilot exams in the morning!!!

Concerned about money laundering, will be reporting to my bank. Booked through *******, thought I had paid upfront. On arrival, staff member was waiting at the open door, seemed like a nice touch, but rather than going to reception, took me into a cramped and cluttered cupboard office, which felt a little seedy and weird. He explained that I still had to pay, which I queried, but the ******* site wasn’t that clear, it just said the room had been reserved, so gave him my card, but he looked at his screen and told me the card had been declined ( the screen merely showed an error message) and he had no card reader which seemed especially weird….his computer screen had confirmation of all the card details from ******* and even said that the card was valid, but he insisted the card was no good and I should give him another card or pay cash… I don’t think so! He then wanted me to scan a qr code and pay a different company… I don’t think so. He said he was going to speak to ******* and made a call, not sure who to. Meanwhile, I went onto the ******* live chat and explained the situation. They were exceedingly helpful and told me they would call him.. and did within seconds! He told them things that were not true, they came back on live chat to me and said they would refund my booking to allow me to book somewhere else, I no longer felt comfortable staying there. I immediately went online and booked the Crown Plaza with the same card…!!! Definitley nothing wrong with my card.. definitley suspicious. Crown Plaza gave me a complimentary upgrade, so very grateful to this chap as I am now sitting in a luxurious room, but WILL be reporting it to my bank in the morning.

Basic, dated, uncared for hotel. Bit like a poor quality b&b without the welcome. Also some wierd bugs in rooms. Under flight path which didn't bother me. Only plus side was parking is free and is quite cheap and close to Gatwick airport for early flight.

Pretty odd experience, we needed somewhere to crash coming home on a late flight. There was just one guy there, he was dressed in shorts and flip flops and took us into an office to take payment. It felt a bit uncomfortable. He wasn’t a friendly guy, I thought at first he was a taxi driver or another guest because he didn’t welcome us as such, just in for payment then to our room. Take earplugs for the flight noise, I never saw any other staff while we were there.

Hotel - but no bar, no food, terrible breakfast, under the Gatwick flight path, (very noisy at some times starting just after 6am to 11pm), shower in bath with little water pressure. Big room, with comfy bed and free parking are their only 'assets.'

Waste of money. No sign of ANY staff after sign in. Although the bed was comfy (the only good thing), the rooms were not clean. Breakfast was a joke - help yourself to cerea, tea and coffee and make yourself toast. Absolutely no dietary options and, as I have already said, no staff. Avoid.
