We see the sign and gave it a try, a group of 9 of us and they accomodated us nicely, amazing service, friendly staff, excellent food and a good atmosphere. Very tidy and clean. Left my Sunglasses there and rang later that day and the staff was very helpful and was able to find and save them till i picked them up. Thank you! Not much to fault apart from parking but overall and amazing place to eat.

Absolutely exceptional! Can’t do enough to make you feel welcome. Amazing team and we love coming here. The food is amazing and the chef is A*. We had the neptunes platter which was delicious and Dad had the ham, egg and chips which he loved. Thank you so much ☺️ ❤️

Wow..... We went for Sunday lunch here after being let down by a nearby venue. The kings head was very accommodating, following my desperate phone call looking for a table for Sunday lunch with a friend of ours that was out in his wheelchair for the first time. They went out of their way to check that our wheelchair user would gain access then advised us of various issues. Once seated, they made us feel so welcome and were the friendliest staff in a pub I've ever come across. The food came quickly once ordered and was very tasty with a vast amount of vegetable choice. This place should pride itself on their staff and the service they provide. They go much further than above and beyond. Thank you so much for helping us out today. You are all amazing.

We have been to the Kings Head quite a few times as we have family living locally. It's usually very good but on this occasion it was pretty awful. They took ages to take our order, and once they did, the food took over an hour to arrive. It was a Sunday at lunch time so fair enough they were busy, but not every table was taken and they did have quite a few staff on. When the food did turn up it had very obviously been re-heated and some of it was plain nasty. No-one came to ask us if we needed more drinks while we were waiting. They got some of the order wrong as well - there just seemed to be very poor attention to detail. Whoever was managing it that day was doing quite a lousy job. The pudding was good though! It's a shame - we don't eat out that often due to the cost, and when we do we want it to feel special. The Kings Head totally didn't achieve this, and left us feeling ripped off as it still came to over £100 without a tip.

On the positives... We had a great stay here. The old pub, now more up-market eatery, was a very nice place to be. The decor had obviously taken a lot of time and thought. It was a very comfortable environment. We had one very good evening meal here with great service and good food. A good range of drinks was available. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed 3 really top notch cooked breakfasts ! Worth the visit, in themselves ! Our room was spacious and tidy. A little guadily decorated for our tastes with a few too many cushions & throws ! But a very comfortable bed and our room was serviced each day which we didn't expect. All the staff we interacted with, were great, being both helpful and cheerful. We would stay here again quite happily On the negatives ... Contrary to other reviews the only real issue here would be cleaning. In the bedroom a "high level" clean is required to deal with cobwebs and dust on the higher surfaces. We also had cause to pull the bed out to sort out the bedside lights, and wished we hadn't ! It had clearly not been pulled out for a long time. There was general rubbish underneath and a lot of dust!. The bathroom on initial inspection was fine with a great shower enclosure but up close it really needs a complete re-fit. Once your floor tile grouting has gone black, I think it's time for a change. The radiator and towl rail were both rusty, the tap was quite grotty and I'm not sure what was going on around the top of the walls, but it wasn't pretty ! The bathroom is usable but not in keeping with the rest of the establishment.

This is our go-to place to stay and eat when we visit our daughter, and it never disappoints. The food is always outstanding, with a varied menu and generous portions. We stay in one of the lodges and always find them to be beautifully decorated, clean and tidy. The staff are very warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. This place really ticks all the boxes for us and we will be returning soon.
