NEVER stay at the Marina metro hotel in Jersey. The staff are the RUDEST I've ever come across! The bathroom towels stink of wet dog and are covered in what looks like faeces stains. We've had to ask for clean towels 3 times and all 3 times we've returned to our room to find faeces stained damp towels that stink. The restaurant last night shut at 9 and we were hurried out despite the fact we were trying to enjoy our evening meal. The bar shut before 10, we were told we couldn't get any more drinks and we were asked to turn the lights out on our way up to our room. The rooms are TERRIBLE! So dated, dirty, scruffy, smelly and grotty. The bed linen stinks and I wonder if it's even changed between guests. The decor is from the 70's, none of the bedside table lamps work, and the wall paper is torn, stained and disgusting. We were told we couldn't have our breakfast outside despite the fact we only booked this hotel for the fact it was on the beach and there is loads of outside seating, but either way the continental breakfast was crap with hardly any selection. The waiters are all old and can't be bothered to do any work, they try to hurry you away and last night the waiter told us he didn't want anyone else to come and have dinner and so at 8.45 he started clearing away all the table settings in the restaurant and told us not to have starters so that we would leave faster. This hotel isn't cheap so do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else. Anywhere else.

The hotel is basic but does what it says on the tin. We were unfortunate in that we had a power cut, we were appreciative that this was out of the ordinary. However the owners comments were quite flabbergasted. As soon as the power cut occurred, they ordered the bar be closed, I though offering bottles etc on tab would have created a community to everyone that were unable.to get into their rooms due to the electrical locking, but they opted otherwise, upon the power returning, I challenged the owner on his decision. He replied "I've got more important things to worry about than guests, I have fridge freezers defrosting" That ladies and gents is who you're paying your hard earned money to.

Typical seaside hotel but very tired and worn looking. First impression was a very cluttered reception area and a broken front door with old worn broken signs on it On the plus side the bed was very comfy and we slept well, but curtains didn’t fit the window fully so light was always coming in. Bathroom in need of modernisation, walk in shower needed. Bath plug didn’t fit. No hooks anywhere in the room/bathroom, couldn’t hang towels, clothes or bathrobe in easy reach. Couldn’t reach the mirror light pull, way too high. The windows leaked during a storm, very wet windowsill. Trying to be environmentally friendly but failing, our towels were changed every day even though they were on the rail. Big hole in the bathmat on one occasion. Didn’t eat there so can’t comment on food. Very expensive and not as expected.

Slightly dated, cigarette burns in curtains/netting, no cold water in the room, options were hot or warm… no water pressure for the shower. All of the staff were wonderful, very polite, pleasant and all willing to help, only issue was there was no one on reception at checkout time

Had four nights here during the September heatwave and for the most part a very enjoyable stay. Everything that was within the control of the staff was spot on - our room was a decent size and comfortable, good shower, excellent range of breakfast options, everyone was very friendly. We didn't book a seaview room so were looking out over the street which was fine but I do have to mention the noise...the combination of the pub opposite and the seemingly never ending stream of vans and motorbikes on Havre des Pas was pretty hard work. All in all though would be happy to recommend.

My wife and I spent 1 week here at this hotel. We booked our holiday direct with the hotel, and were informed that we would be given a sea view/coastal view room at a cost of £945 with breakfast included. I queried a room on bookings.com, to the hotel, but was advised by the hotel management Carolyn, that this room was in fact a cheaper room, with road/ town view and not Seaview, but the cost was £851 for room only, with no breakfast. When we arrived at the hotel, we were met by the evening staff, who handed us the key to the room, and we paid in full at reception. When we entered the room, we found it to be dated, with a small bathroom, and the mesh curtain, only barely hanging on the window. Directly in front was the window looking out to an adjacent building, and roadside view, with little coastal view, only to be seen when viewed to the left side of the window. I immediately went to report this at reception and request a change of room, to a Seaview room, but management weren't available, except for the evening staff member who checked us in. The following day, I was met by Geoff, the managing director who commented on the room that we were allocated, but made excuses that we weren't promised a full coastal view room by his wife Carolyn, at the time of booking, and that his wife wasnt aware of any vacant Seaview rooms available to us at the time of booking. So we were left with this room for the entire week. Yet, the rooms to the rear of the hotel were larger rooms, and had full unobstructed coastal view. On the day we were checking out, we were met by one of the daily staff who asked if we enjoyed our stay, I replied with the room number, and that the room wasn't satisfactory to what we paid full price for, and she replied saying " next time you book with us, request a sea/coastal view room" when I replied saying that, this is what we paid for, she apologised and left. Geoff, the hotel managing director was present at this stage, and never offered any kind of apology. We feel we were ripped off for what we were handed, and paid full price for. When we arrived home, I sent an email of complaint to the hotel management, only to be replied to with what they had already told us when I first complained, and a short apology. We did look at another Seaview hotel not far from this hotel, with unobstructed rooms for the same dates for less than what we paid. The daily staff, were very friendly and helpful, but with this false advertising, i wouldn't be recommending staying at this hotel any time in the future.

Great location, especially when you find the easy path into town avoiding the tunnel. Breakfast very good, especially the golden eggs in various forms. A bit noisy at night but comfortable room and pleasant staff

My husband booked a 5 night stay at the hotel. This was our first visit to Jersey, so we wanted to be close to transport links etc. He contacted the hotel before we travelled and arranged bed, breakfast and evening meal, this was a good idea as although there are plenty of restaurants nearby and in St Helier and all the little bay areas they are not cheap, no tourist or oap deals here! So to the hotel it’s in a good position near a bus stop easy to get to St Helier or anywhere as the island is only small. Taxi service also on hand. The hotel is very clean and the staff are exceptional, polite, helpful, friendly and take time to talk to guests. The hotel has a large lounge on the second floor with beautiful views over the bay so nice to have a night cap looking out to sea. The restaurant area is fairly compact but again you can sit outside to have your meals weather permitting. My only comment would be the hotel decor in general is quite 70’s dark wood on the corridors and in the rooms, it could do with a splash of white to brighten it up! The room was adequate, tv, bath and shower etc we had a side sea view I would go with a sea view if you can as I’m sure it would be stunning. The bed was very comfortable and plenty of nice, white towels on hand. The thing that we found exceptional was the food, breakfast was a huge choice, no rush when eating same at dinner. Lovely choice of meals, we had a set menu as that was the deal but we couldn’t fault it, starter , main and dessert I would recommend looking at this option if your on a budget, it gave us options to eat there or try the other restaurants. I must mention the lovely waiters ; Luben at breakfast, so helpful with directions and attractions to see on the island and also Rui at Dinner very professional and helpful. All the staff were spot on ! The hotel is ideally situated next door to the out door lido more like cold water swimming but my husband loved it, very old school , deco style building , remember to take a beach towel ! All in all a lovely stay we would go again,Jersey is a beautiful island, check out all the attractions and little bays. Finally a few reviews said there was a noisy pub opposite the hotel but it was closed for 11.30 , we called in it was very nice, sports and excellent service by Donna at the bar so don’t let the reviews put you off it didn’t spoil out stay at all.

We stayed at here for 4 nights in September and loved it! All the staff - including the restaurant staff- were so friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing and reasonably priced so we ate there every evening. The room (although decor and bathroom could do with a refresh- my only suggestion for improvement) was comfy with a good size fridge, wardrobe, hairdryer, iron and hot drinks facilities. We were lucky enough to have a sea view which was just stunning, The rooms were quiet and we slept well. The hotel is situated about a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of St Hellier, which we found was quite nice as you didn’t get the hustle and bustle and noise. We could enjoy a relaxing stroll along the promenade and visit to the stunning Art Deco lido. We would definitely visit again!
