The Parc Victoria is a shabby and vastly overpriced museum like hotel. While dining at their Les Lierres restaurant, I broke a tooth on a hard foreign object in a rice pudding dessert. Neither the server nor the woman at checkout seemed particularly apologetic or helpful about this. The broken tooth ruined my dream vacation and will cost me a lot of money to fix. I totally regret staying at this hotel.

I agree entirely with Larwe from Canada, although we stayed in the Pavilion rather than the hotel or its cottages. We lacked a balcony or terrace but had a wonderful roller blind to protect us from the savage sun. The location and gardens are a tranquil paradise away from the seafront bustle but close enough to it for a traditional French seafront meal, [plenty to choose from - see tripadvisor] at a fraction {30%} of the cost of the hotel restaurant (we did not eat there - the heat had stolen our appetite), lunch / evening drink in the old port or stroll out shopping in the town centre to be an easy and enjoyable walk. We were there in the middle of a heat wave in excess of 40 degrees C and the pool and garden were indeed an oasis. The air con in our room at 21 was initially like stepping into a fridge, but a very pleasant fridge at that - although you have to like Art Deco / shabby chic decor and idiosyncratic and no vista to see from your room, so no USP for us.. This is therefore a difficult one to score…..there is nothing really to fault it…certainly not the effort that has been put into it… It is not cheap, especially the evening meals in the restaurant; the breakfast is expensive but also expansive…and worth the money for the setting alone if you are able to sit outside…the service and courtesy from every single member of staff, from the gardeners to Madame herself is excellence personified. It just lacked something that did not tick our boxes. We are both retired professionals and easy going who have and are happy to mix with all levels of society so not the clientele - just something else lacking in overall ambience… This was the first relais et chateau chain hotel we had stayed at - indeed we did not realise it was a chain until some enthusiastic relais and chateau regulars, who were a joy to meet, pointed it out to us. (See website - all of which look good) So no nearer to understanding what was lacking. We are touring with our own car driving back along the Côte Atlantique from Bilbao to Caen staying in hotels of this standard in Spain and France. All have been five blobs-worthy but this one was just lacking any extra wow factor for us. Iriarte Jauregia in Bidania Goiatz was 6 blobs /5, Hotel Le B in Arcachon is easily 5.5/5 and 7/5 for their head receptionist, (who has been a complete star rearranging our booking 4x during Covid), so maybe we’re just being lucky with the hotels we’ve chosen. So it still gets 5/5 as I can’t really fault it, (and irrespective of this review, we still had a great time in St Jean de Luz and this hotel) but would not go back or recommend it other than to an Art Deco aficionado..or a gourmand with money to burn….or a couple looking for an oasis amidst a heatwave..

This is a most beautiful hotel lovingly cared for by the nicest of people. The Art Deco is splendid. Nothing is too much trouble for the excellent and superb staff.

We arrive in the late afternoon, after a long drive. It was raining heavily and we were mesmerized the moment we drove into the property. The gardens are beautiful. We were greeted promptly with umbrellas and showed into the main building. Check-in was very fast and everything explained, including the what we could do and see the next day. The luggage was promptly brought up to the rooms. We had two interconnected single room, each individually decorated in Art Deco style. This gave a special charm to the Hotel. We noticed the calm of the place, one only hears the birds singing. Fully functional bathrooms. There is a restaurant on-site, we had a delicious three course menu. Interesting combinations of ingredients. Breakfast was also delicious. Fresh pastry, eggs made as you wish. Then we were off to explore Saint-Jean. There is beautiful walk along the coast that leads to a beach with a nice botanical garden to explore. We also swam in the pool, which is heated. All in all a fantastic stay with a lotto discover. Everyone was very friendly.

Lovely old-world style hotel, excellent restaurant, lovely garden, a great haven of peace whilst the town was rather hectic with many visitors and too many cars.

We loved our five night stay at Hotel Parc Victoria. The hotel grounds are neatly tucked away from the seaside bustle. Privacy and calm immediately result from towering trees and mature lush grounds and gardens throughout which pleasant nooks have been created for sitting, reading and sunbathing. The pool is kept at a perfect temperature where accommodating staff were happy to serve chilled afternoon wine. We stayed in a cottage which gave us plenty of space and lots of privacy. We particularly loved having our own little patio and enjoyed a perfect French breakfast there one morning. We had two beautiful meals in the Michelin restaurant on the property where we found the food and service to be impeccable. The staff were especially notable in that everyone, from the front desk staff to the waiters in the restaurant, and the women who cleaned our cottage, seemed to graciously rush to provide individual attention and assistance of the highest degree. Of particular note was the man who checked us in and repeatedly provided us with services such as dinner reservations and wifi assistance. The restaurant sommelier was a charming man who made great wine selections for us, both at dinner and poolside, and his warm, pleasant manner contributed tremendously to our comfort and feeling of being welcomed. We would highly recommend Hotel Parc Victoria.

We spent 9 great days at the hotel in July. Together with my husband and teenager, we were in a large junior suite in one of the little villas of the property. The suite had two nice rooms and also private inside and outside areas/sunrooms where we had the wonderful breakfast delivered. Food was excellent (the demi-pension is really worthwhile). Staff was very friendly and helpful. Staff was always wearing masks and weather permitting dinner and breakfast was served outside. The staff even made reservations for Covid test appointments for our flights back to the US. A wonderful stay!

Lovely property just a few minutes from the beach. Well tended garden & pool area. Bedroom slightly oldy worldly but comfortable and quiet. Very generous on the bathroom products. Welcome cake & fruit in the bedroom. Friendly, helpful receptionist. Only hotel on our 17 nights in France that we couldn't get WIFI with. Our security would not allow us to connect. A good dinner was served in the restaurant, Chefs choice was very acceptable. Breakfast was the best. Lovely outside setting with excellent choices of fresh products, served by a very efficient waitress. Just a perfect start to the day. A box of chocolates on departure was a lovely touch.

being there for a week workshop I had the opportunity to relax in the hotel premises and the beautiful garden ; I didn't use the swimming pool due to the heavy rain we also had. The suite is more than confortable and the service is efficient, discreet and impeccable.
