Hotel Prestige Odalys Erromardie

I recently stayed at Camping Ferme and would like to share my objective feedback regarding my check-out experience. During this process, I encountered several communication and service issues that I believe warrant attention. Upon check-out, I unfortunately found myself in a distressing situation. The manager's behavior was inappropriate and alarming, as he raised his voice and displayed aggression towards me. This incident left me visibly upset, with my children also taken aback by the manager's conduct. This incident stands in stark contrast to the level of service one would expect from an establishment with a claimed four-star rating. As a foreign guest, I faced challenges during the check-in process due to a lack of effective communication. The absence of clear instructions in English regarding check-out times and cleaning standards hindered my understanding of the camping's policies. During my check-out, I was confronted by the manager's frustration over a late departure and concerns about cleanliness. I was perplexed by the notion that guests paying a substantial fee, such as the 1500 euros for the week, are expected to handle cleaning duties. While I did my part in maintaining cleanliness, it was evident that the camping's cleaning practices are reliant on guests rather than a dedicated staff. The unprofessional and discourteous manner in which issues were addressed made me feel unsupported and mistreated. A more respectful and empathetic approach would undoubtedly contribute to a more positive and reassuring experience for guests.

It’s very stressful when you arrive with lots of other Motorhomes as there iisnt a lot of room to park while you check in but once you are on your pitch you really have it all there. A shop to get fresh bread in the morning,bars and restaurants on the beach front with tapas and ice cream too. There is a cycle Lane into Saint Jean du Luz….although it’s uphill on the way back. There are supermarkets in walking distance. The pool is small but very clean and so are the shower and toilet blocks. We will definitely go back as we enjoyed our time on the beach but it’s not the safest as the tides are quick but fun to watch all the surfers.

missing a few basics,.....air conditioning, working hair dryer,hair conditioner, iron, ironing board. No comfort in the bathroom and separate toilet, which was more like a public toilet with the cold tile floor.

We spent 4 nights although had only planned a 1 night stopover. The location is fabulous- close to beach & lovely beach bars. Everyone very friendly. Great cycle routes to St Jean de Luz one way & Biarritz the other. Site a bit quirky & difficult to manoeuvre large motorhome especially to get to motorhome service point for water & waste but it is possible & worth it!!

This is a nice flat site which had reasonable shade and most pitches spacious with hedge. Beach literally across the road. Good facilities with toilet paper, hot water and excellent wi-fi coverage. Water taps were hard to find and sprayed all over the place. Small on-site shop with bread in morning, a restaurant/bar, swimming pool and children's playing area. Did not try the restaurant/bar. Bus stop to St Jean within 10-15 mins walk of site ... get advice from reception re. location and timetable... short trip into town. It is possible to walk to St Jean over a pretty good path -- takes about 30-35 mins and has a slopely start but not very demanding. Not all staff have good English but always try to help. There are two fairly attractive pubs / restaurants just outside the site. At times late night music, laughing and shouting --- may not wake one up but might make it hard to get to sleep.

Stayed in our tent on this lovely site for 5 nights. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. We were on one of unshaded pitches on this site but were able to hire a refrigerator for the duration of our stay. There is a co**** sandy beach across the road but on low tide it is very rocky so river shoes are recommended. There is a hilly but very scenic cycle track into Saint-Jean-de-Luz which is about 3km where there is a beautiful sandy beach. Very small shop on site only stocking basics but croissants / baguette available in the morning. A new sanitary building has been added recently which meant we never had to queue. There is a bar/ restaurant on site but there are two other bar / restaurants across the road with fabulous sea views - great spot to watch the sunset and relax after the day. All in all we would definitely recommend this site for a stay and will return.

Great hotel and we will definitely be back!

We stayed for a long weekend at the end of June. The hotel is well located to explore St Jean de Luz and the surrounding area. A bit far out of the centre but maybe the bus service could help (we did not try it). We walked into town and back which took around 40mins each way, with some hills on the way. Easy walking to the beach and a couple of other restaurants/bars. Generally a quiet location despite being very close to the rail line and autoroute. The room was a good size and well maintained. Wifi was surprisingly good. Great idea to have carpeted floors, as it helps to reduce noise and is more comfortable on the feet. In general the room was quite well insulated from the noise of any neighbours. Nice balcony and open view especially as we were on the top floor. A bit noisy at times from the access road below. The noise from the refuse collection was very intrusive especially as they arrived at 0640 one morning and 0715 another. Is it impossible to move the collection time to after 08:00? Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Swimming pool looked very good although we did not use it . Breakfast was a little disappointing for 11 euros . Dinner was much better. We would definitely consider a return visit if we could get a pool view/ocean side room.
