À la Chouette B&B

We stayed at A La Chouette for 3 nights at the end of July and can sum up the experience in two words: simply perfect. Ginette and Francois are extremely gracious and thoughtful hosts, and did everything they could to make us feel welcome and at home. A La Chouette is 10 minutes walk to anything you would like to do in Baie-Saint-Paul, be it a walk on the beach or the public gardens, or to the main foodie and art district. However, if quiet is your thing, you can easily escape to any one of the spaces they have created in the beautifully landscaped back yard. Our room was on the top floor and although smaller than some, it was a perfect size for my wife and I. Tastefully decorated, a private bathroom and shower, and a comfy bed, it had everything we needed to be comfortable and well rested for the next day. And to start the day was their scrumptious multi course breakfasts, guaranteed to satisfy the most discerning foodie. Poached pears in spices, fresh local breads, cheeses, and meats, fresh fruit salads, homemade jams, cinnamon raisin bread french toast…I could go on and on. Just perfect. We definitely will be returning the next time we plan to be in the area and wholeheartedly recommend to anyone to do same. Thank you Ginette and Francois.

My husband and I have adopted Charlevoix as children. My mother was born and raised in St-Irénée and my husband's great-grandfather built a house in St-Siméon. We visit Charlevoix every year and often multiple times a year. This February, for my birthday, we booked a room à la chouette with a couple of friends that are usuals there. The place is beautiful, rooms are charming and comfortable. But the highlight; the owners! Ginette and François are very special individuals! Warm, funny and ready to help at any time. Their breakfasts are out of this world! Don't expect continental, not even regular eggs and bacon. No, its truly elevated! I could have eaten the whole poached pears on my own! lol The second day was amazing ham, cheese and cooked apples on a fresh croissant. Every morning is different. They ask when you arrive if you have allergies, intolerances or just taste issues. Its not cheap to stay there, but its very much worth it!

Excellent location with short walk to all the shops and dining. Central location to hiking and flavor trail. Very comfortable stay. Cozy beds and bedding with big bright rooms with patios. Hosts were lovely and hard working.
