Aloft St. Louis Central West End

Overall experience was terrible and I would not recommend this hotel. Parking - the hotel needs to advise on their website and in their policy that parking in the lot by the hotel is $25 per night. Or, you have to pay to park on the street. Parking on the street is free on The Weeknd’s. Customer service was poor. We initially booked 9/5 to 9/7 but realized we needed to check in a day earlier. So, I contacted the hotel Monday 9/1 and asked if we can change our check in day to Thursday 9/4. I spoke to Michelle and she confirmed with me more than once that our reservation had been successfully changed to 9/4 through 9/7. I was even charged the additional fee for adding on the extra night. However, this was not the case. On Saturday 9/6 staff kept knocking on our door saying it was time to check it out. We were confused so we called the front desk. They told us their system showed we were due to check out on the 6th. I politely tried to explain the above to the staff member. She stated it was best for me to go downstairs and talk to the supervisor on duty. The supervisor on duty was not understanding and gave me a BS excuse about the system moving the dates back to 9/4-9/6 because my original reservation was only for two nights. I told her “so we’re being kicked out because your employee doesn’t know how to read a computer screen??” I even explained to her that Michelle confirmed more than once that we were booked from 9/4 - 9/7 and that we were charged for the additional day. She tried to tell me that was the incidental hold. I told her that wasn’t the case because Michelle told me the incidental hold was a flat $75. Well that was a lie. Michelle even told me on the phone that she was new and had kept putting me on hold to ask for assistance. I should’ve asked for someone else to assist with the reservation change but I decided to put my trust in Michelle. The supervisor did not try to remedy the situation and said our only options were to pay $300 for another night or leave. We decided to leave and book another room and they only gave us 15 minutes to gather our things. This was absolutely unacceptable and the worst experience ever. As we were 7 hours from home and had to spend $200 on a room at another hotel. NEVER EVER EVER BOOK HERE!

Friendly and helpful front desk. Comfortable room on top floor. Large comfortable shared lounge and games area if wanted for a group. Convenient location to universities and train station or town amenities by car or walking. Unfortunately, there is no on-site parking, but you can get advice for where in the city to park.

It was beautiful. The lobby was cute with art! The room was spacious. The toilet and shower were separate!

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the staff at Aloft was nothing short of spectacular. I had zero expectation that our room would be ready when we got to the hotel at 8, but they generously gave us a room when my expectation was that they hold our luggage until we came back to check in. From there, they recomended places to eat and visit, offered the shuttle for those places that were near. They greeted us the next day as if they had known us or that we were royals. The only thing I would caution other visitors is that there are no microwaves in the rooms, but you can walk down to the reception area and they have one there. Other than that, everything was wonderful.

My family (wife, two small children) splurged to stay at Aloft by Marriott during our recent trip to St. Louis. upon arrival I was told that the room I had booked (and paid for in full) was not available and our family would have to stay in a smaller room with one bed. I had booked a month or more previously for two-beds for the four of us, and without options and not wanting to disappoint the kids (they were very excited about the pool) we went ahead and took the room. I have booked hotel rooms all over the world, and I've yet to experience being told the room I reserved (and paid for ahead of time) was not available. The check-in was reasonably friendly but was met with negativity from the hotel operator when i asked if there was any way to fix the issue. The person on the other phone (assumed it was management) was quick to say no to any shift. The kicker is this: at 2:15 a.m. I got up to use the restroom (from the floor in our room, where I was sleeping). We were staying in the main tower/Western section of the hotel. When I looked down at the Eastern section of the hotel I could see in to rooms (because the hotel left the windows to open rooms open). There was not one but two rooms in the second connected tower, with two queen beds and no one staying in them. The same was true the next night as well. I have not been this disappointed in a stay in my adult life. As I see with others, it seems this hotel has serious management issues and we will no return.

Great location right off the interstate. In a safe neighborhood as well. Would stay here again

This was an excellent location for us. The parking is not as convenient for able bodied people. The HC parking that we needed because of one of us being in a wheelchair was very convenient and without cost.
