InterContinental Hotels SAINT PAUL RIVERFRONT by IHG

This hotel is right in the heart of Saint Paul on the river. The view is unmatched. The staff did their best with the resources they were given. One little letdown is that the restaurant closed 40 minutes early so we were not able to order bread pudding in bed.

It was convenient for attending the conference. However, it was not convenient for anything else. They also required a daily $100 deposit which is excessive for the quality of the hotel. I would not stay again simply because of that requirement.

Upon check-in, I was extremely surprised to be asked for a $100 per day deposit. I have never been asked for such a hefty deposit for a prepaid hotel stay. This is an average hotel without a lot of amenities. The location is convenient for attending a conference at the Saint Paul River Center. The nearby convenience stores close around 7 PM.

The view was amazing!

I chose to book here because the Intercontinental offers room service which is hard to find in other hotels. The room we booked was a private access river view room with breakfast, I thought there would be a different lift (my kid is loud) and I was wrong. We used the same elevator but needed a swipe card to get to our floor. We didn't have a phone in our room, which was weird, however, the front desk texted us and sent someone immediately to handle our room service order, which was great. The room is not very big. Room service and breakfast were great and reasonably priced, and we liked their staff service and food service the most. By the way, parking is valet only and it's not easy to find parking on the streets near the city center.

the staff, valet and maintenance were awesome relaxed and friendly. The service desk was exceptional upon checking in. I would defintely rebook here when in St Paul.
