Hotels with Bars in Saint Petersburg

Overall this hotel was fine. The hotel is neat and clean in appearance. The room was a good size and looked clean and orderly. It was very quiet. The room temperature was a bit on the warm side with no visible thermostat to control the temperature. All in all I’d return if I visited St. Petersburg again.

The location of the hotel seemed great to us. We did not use transportation and walked to the city and Moscow railway station. You can stroll along the noisy Nevsky Prospekt and peaceful parallel streets. Close to the shopping center, beautiful Oushi. The room is small but very cozy. Clean the room every day We could not evaluate the sound insulation effect, we did not hear the neighbors, did not see them, it was out of time. In a cozy restaurant on the 5th floor, the breakfast is very good with a great variety. We went to the bar on the 7th floor and we could see the view of the cathedral. I read a lot of complaints about closing windows, including. Those who definitely need air circulation, be careful and write down your wishes. If possible, I think your request will be approved. Everything about us is great. There is a left-luggage office where you can store your luggage. Excellent value for money.

Having stayed at this hotel maybe 10 times the past 10-12 years, I unfortunately clearly see a downgoing trend. Rooms are in general ok, but nothing exciting. Interiors are in need for some renewal. Sound insulation to the corridors and partly between rooms are not good enough. With corridors of several hundred meterss per floor level, the traffic is always high at all times. People normally talk to each other - that's normal. However, I am not at all interested inside the room what they are talking about. The rooms are clean, all right, but nothing really exciting. Just a bed to sleep in, a TV to watch and a bathroom... Breakfast is actually the most disappointing. Canteen-feeling, extremely low and poor assortment. Just scrambled eggs, untasty small ”malochnyj sosiski” sausages. No fried eggs, no omelet, no bacon. Very poor fruit assortment. I stayed at this place the last time until some substantial improvement is noticed. A shame really, because this is a hotel I previously always liked. The only thing still that did not change in a negative way is the quality of the Paulaner beer.

The Best Western is very well located in the heart of St Petersburg. It is just across Ploshcad Vosstaniya from Moskovsky main line railway station on Ligovskiy Avenue, near to the junction with Nevski Prospekt. The building is quite old as are many of the fixtures and fittings in the rooms. The one lift was also somewhat rickety. However, my room itself was large and comfortable with plenty of storage space. There was a safe, complimentary bottled water, a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. There was a slight whiff of drains in the bathroom but it was fine with a powerful hot shower but no bath tub. Breakfast was served in the adjacent Du Nord restaurant and it was different but pretty good. The breakfast dishes were named after various cities. On the first morning, I had the ‘Moscow’ which consisted of granola followed by Russian pancakes, with coffee and orange juice. On the second morning, I went for the ‘Amsterdam’ which was porridge followed by brioche rolls topped with poached egg and bacon, again with coffee and orange juice. I enjoyed both selections, although on the second morning, they were late opening the breakfast room, so I didn’t get to finish my meal as I needed to get to the airport in a hurry. The staff were very helpful and were able to direct me to a nearby clinic in order to get a PCR test. I couldn’t say the same about the clinic called Invitro - absolutely hopeless ! I stayed at the hotel for two nights and paid £68. Great value.

I’d say for a 4* hotel in a city centre it’s absolutely not up to the mark. The location is good that’s for sure. WiFi worked well. The bed was comfortable and the linen was clean. Breakfasts were okay but all the time all same (just cereal for porridge was changed every second day) that made me tired within my 2 weeks stay. The maintenance of the hotel is not good. The main minuses are: minibar (fridge) is not in every room. There’s no hair dryer. There’s no mirror for make up. The wardrobe is too small so there’s no place to put the clothes for a long stay. The view was the worst I could imagine- you only see the wall and the windows of other rooms. The staff mainly looked like dull zombies. I believe for a hotel of such level it could definitely be better. I had some issues with the room safe that were fixed very fast so I can say they are responsive to the inquiries.

The location of the hotel is very good. I walked for 3 minutes on Metro Line 2 on the bustling Moscow Street. You can reach all the attractions including the Ye Palace within 2 times by subway or bus. The hotel’s service is also good and the sanitation is very clean. We have eaten The breakfast bowls are all washed.

Room was an ok size for what was described as a suite Clean and tidy and all amenities apart from tea/coffee facilities. There is courtesy table in a room somewhere in hotel that does tea I believe but I do prefer to have this facility in my room No mirror by plug sockets made it difficult to do hair Also as this was my 50th birthday gift from my mum we had notified hotel. They promised a complimentary gift on arrival which did not happen. My mum did try to order champagne and was told that they didn’t put complimentary in room as my bd was a week after we depart!!!! It’s my big 50 which I was celebrating with my mum. I found this quite rude. My mum was willing to pay but they didn’t offer anything We also tried to book a massage which they advertise hugely in hotel and it’s run from same building, however we did not get a reply from the message we sent!

The hotel itself is a solid 3 + stars, not 4. The deluxe suite with a view of the Neva is beautiful: clean, the view was pleasing (for the sake of it they took it), a good SPA complex with a swimming pool in the hotel. Additional services (massages, etc.) are quite expensive. But if you take only the entrance to the pool and saunas - it is quite economical. Service is good, clean, but you need to book in advance. Bering restaurant on the ground floor, of course, sadness. The level of service is a weak three. And the feel of the restaurant too. In general, the hotel is pleasant, the location is chic. Everyone is happy.
