I stayed for 4 days and felt that the environment was good, mainly because there were green plants outside my window. I like quiet places

I stayed 3 nights at the Margarita Hotel in early November 2021 when St Petersburg was locked down due to Covid with all restaurants and most shops were closed for all the days of my stay. The hotel seems a bit isolated but I suspect that is due to the streets being empty at night with most venues closed and few places to go. It is actually only about 30 minutes walk to the main Heritage Museum and less than 10 minutes to the Mariinsky Theatre. There was a small supermarket about 100 meters away and a mini fridge in the room both of which were particularly useful under lock down. The hotel was well signed and easy to find. The receptionist spoke a little English and although she seemed worried about making mistakes her English was a vast improvement on my non-existent Russian. The room was on the small side but quite adequate especially for the very reasonable tariff. It had a double bed, couple of dining-type chairs and a desk/counter attached to the wall opposite the end of the bed. The fridge was under the counter. There was also a kettle with tea but no coffee and a good sized closet. The lighting was pretty good and it was very warm. In fact a bit too warm and I had to open a window much of the time to cool things down. This is not a complaint - too hot is so much better than cold. A good buffet breakfast was included in the rate. While not huge, the buffet had more than enough choices and 2 good coffee machines. The wifi was excellent. The room was serviced each day which is better than currently happens in many international chain hotels. The hotel was very quiet but that may have been a function of few guests and the lock down. My only compliant really concerns the hot water in the shower which was fine the first 2 mornings but did not get over tepid the 3rd morning in spite of being run for more than 5 minutes. Overall, the Margarita is a good choice if you are looking for a very reasonably priced hotel of a good standard and don't mind walking a bit.

A hotel needs a concept like an outfit - a fashionista. That is, strongly. And the more accurately, sharply and strongly it reflects the essence of the idea, the greater the chances of success. There are concepts that are simply win-win, and then it’s just a matter of implementation - it will be packed, it’ll be sold out, the reception will be smoking, the administrators will collapse from fatigue with their pockets full of tips. Sometimes an idea overtakes its time or lags behind - then with varying success, it’s like coming to a Halloween party in an Adam costume, bright, but very inappropriate, and it gives you goosebumps in the sirloin. It’s difficult to choose a concept, it’s difficult to follow it, and it’s difficult to express it in all the details - food, service, interior, etc. - aerobatics. Exhausted, the hoteliers came up with an elegant move – a concept without a concept, “author’s design” so to speak. “Why are your curtains on the windows purple and covered in melted butter, and on the walls there are patterns a la Provence? – And this is our designer, this is how he sees it. - An entertainer, then. But this gorgeous tulle with bows? “Artists, they are like that, nothing human...” The questions are exhausted. The author's is the author's. Arriving on an early, sunny morning (by St. Petersburg standards) at about nine in the morning, I, like that blind kitten bumping into the owner’s surprised duck, three doors of the hotel with the signs “The entrance to the hotel is nearby,” finally entered the hall. The meeting with the administrator was memorable for its brevity and severity. I immediately remembered the foreman in the now distant time of the eighties, who dryly and monotonously, as if reciting a mantra, explained to us the rules of service (living), what, how and with whom one should not do under any circumstances, what is still possible, but with caution, and , which is always possible. Having paid for the room at the required rate and overpaid for early check-in in the amount of the cost of the whole day, having received the coveted key card for the room, I went to the elevator. The elevator turned out to be very neat, a famous classic was quietly playing some kind of music in the speakers, slowly but surely I was approaching the top floor, as it seemed to me. Alas, upon exiting the teleport, I was surprised to discover that to get to the room it was necessary to climb a very inconvenient staircase to one more floor. Armed with patience and composing an ode to the architect of this premises, I finally got to the place. It is worth noting that, according to my observation, the hotel has virtually no video surveillance blind spots in the corridors. The corridors themselves seemed to me very clean, although not the first freshness in terms of renovation. A kind of young lady of about forty-five, shyly putting on a nurse’s robe and trying to pass herself off as a young woman with ambitions. However, another disappointment awaited me at the room - a clump of female (as it seemed to me) strands of hair on the floor, as if reminding me that it was too early to relax - they could either cut it or depilate it. The miracle card opened the gate to the room, and I finally found myself in a wonderful nest. Moreover, the word “wonderful” can be used here in different accents. And wonderful and wonderful. All due to the fact that the same original designer had a very unusual approach to the idea of designing, I’m not afraid of this word - the chamber. But

The hotel is located in the central part of St. Petersburg on the banks of the Griboyedov Canal, a 15-minute walk from St. Isaac's Cathedral. The room is small, but ok for a week's stay. There is a kettle and refrigerator. The mattress was very upset; on one side it was completely squashed, exactly in the place where the back is. The shower pan leaked periodically. Hot water and pressure - everything is fine here. Cleaning every day, the quality of cleaning is average, the main space is cleaned, but not in the corners. Towels are changed every day. I must say that the towels are quite old. In general, it is clear that renovations, mattresses, towels need updating. The staff is pleasant and polite. Breakfast is a buffet, modest, but quite tasty. True, the room itself is small, but there are a lot of people, once there wasn’t even enough space for a visitor.

Not big, but very cozy hotel. The description and photo on the website correspond. We checked in immediately upon arrival at 11.00, thank you very much. We took a room with breakfast, it was varied and everything was delicious. On the floor where the cooler is located there is a board with an iron. The service is excellent, the staff is friendly, I liked everything!

We booked two rooms at this hotel for 3 days. Good location, everything is nearby, but at the same time a quiet street. Room cleaning, towels changed every day. The buffet breakfast suited us. The hotel is new, not shabby. The only downside is parking, there are more than 60 rooms and 10 parking spaces. But there are paid parking lots, which we took advantage of. There were no places for Efremov. We took the car to the former Stockman store, the one on Nevsky, and for 800 rubles a day the parking issue was resolved. The hotel staff is very polite and tries to help with any little detail. Our weekend was unforgettable.

I just returned from St. Petersburg and stayed at this wonderful hotel. I liked everything: location, cleanliness, friendliness of the staff. I read in reviews about meager breakfasts - this is not true, there is plenty to choose from: two types of milk porridge, a side dish in the form of pasta or potatoes, and with them nuggets, sausages, stewed meat, stewed beans, freshly chopped vegetables and fruits, an omelet or a baked egg , boiled egg, sliced ham and cheese, cereal, muesli, yogurt, butter, various jams in mini-packages, croissants, 3 types of bread, 3 types of tea bags and lemon, delicious coffee from a coffee machine - I think it’s unlikely to be at home In the morning, whoever has such pickles at a time. In the rooms there is an electric kettle with cups, refillable tea of several types and sugar. Mini bottles of shampoo, gel and soap are replenished daily. There is a hairdryer, but no slippers or robe. The room has air conditioning, TV, safe. There is a cooler with drinking water on the floor, as well as an ironing board and iron. It’s nice that for a reasonable price there is excellent service and walking distance to attractions. Maybe it will be useful to someone: from the airport and also back by taxi, travel time is 30/35 minutes, cost 700/620 rubles - Yandex taxi. Thank you to all the hotel staff for a wonderful time spent with you!!!

Choosing this place to live was not the easiest for me. The fact is that before every trip I carefully study reviews of hotels on specialized websites (there were not entirely pleasant surprises before), and the reviews for this hotel were diametrically opposed. Three things were alarming: cold nights, lack of hot water and poor sound insulation. Moreover, such disadvantages were indicated in every second guest review. So, not one of these “fears” manifested itself in my case. The room has air conditioning, which solves the problem of room temperature; there is hot water and it does not disappear at the most unexpected moment; The noise didn't bother me at night. The rooms are clean, there are no foreign odors. Bed linen and towels are fresh. It was pleasant to sleep. The room has a hairdryer, refrigerator, set of dishes and a kettle. There is an ironing board and an iron in the common corridor, as well as a cooler with clean drinking water. I would also like to mention the breakfast - it is more than good. Every day there are several egg dishes to choose from, meat, sausages, side dishes, two types of porridge, breakfast cereals, sliced cheese and ham, bread, vegetables, fruits, desserts...What else do you need? In any case, you can easily find something for breakfast with such a menu. The staff is willing to accommodate the need for free early check-in (if the room is ready, of course) and the provision of luggage storage. In general, the impression of the hotel is more than pleasant, moreover, if possible, I will give preference to this same place. The location allows easy access to anywhere in the city.
