Lovely 16C old house in the centre of Saintes bags of character and very friendly, informative hosts.
A little rickety due to its age but this just adds to the charm.
Bottom line is that we would be happy to visit again.

On a business trip to Saintes with the family, the Red Door Inn is located right in the heart of town, with beautiful old building and quaint streets. We used the secured underground parking just a 5 minutes’ walk away and left the car there for a few days. The house is very traditional and full of character, the room was a good size, very comfortable, warm and homely. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We will stay there again if we return to Saintes.

This B&B is easy to find by foot on Rue de Jardins. It's a 14th century townhouse owned by an American expat family. Armand is bilingual and very informative regarding the sites to see in Saintes. She is also a delightful and attentive host, and a textile artisan to boot! My room was ample in size, rustic with a beamed ceiling, and a sizeable in-suite bathroom. Breakfast was served in her wonderful garden, in the shadow of Saint-Pierre Cathedral. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks Armand!

The propritors Monique, Jack and Armond were wonderful. So helpful and kind. Loved our bedroom in this 500 year old home. We were right in the old centre of town. We walked every where in this enchanted midevil town.

J’ai commis une erreur en réservant ; celle de ne pas lire les avis ! Une belle demeure dans le centre de Saintes. Un hall d’entrée prometteur (mais plein de cartons vides !). Après un accueil chaleureux, nous découvrons la réalité de cette maison d’hôtes. Les escaliers sont encombrés d’ustensiles de ménages et objets divers… La chambre ne dispose pas de serrure, un seul drap de bain pour 2 personnes (malheureusement inutilisable car couvert de vieilles taches de sang), pas de tapis de bain (pourtant indispensable avec une douche ouverte), des serviettes de toilette usées et rêches, pas de verre à disposition dans la chambre, une literie inconfortable (matelas ordinaire à ressorts sur sommier à lattes !) qui vous assure des courbatures au réveil, 1 seul oreiller par personne, une prise multiple qui traîne au sol au milieu de la chambre pour palier l’absence de prises électriques au pied du lit, une cuvette de wc descellée…. Mais le must restera le petit déjeuner servi dans une salle à manger très encombrée où traînent des assiettes sales oubliées sur un coin de buffet et infestées de moucherons qui viennent jusque dans nos assiettes. Sur un coin de la table, un mélange d’odeurs de bananes trop mûres et d’oignons avancés. Le tout pour 125€ la nuit 🤗… aucun label ne serait en mesure de décerner la moindre étoile face à ce manque d’hygiène et de professionnalisme. Quelle déception !

Un endroit idéal pour un weekend détente et tendresse en amoureux. Idéalement situé entre Collioure et Perpignan, la terrasse vous donne une magnifique vue sur les vignes et les Pyrénées, dans un calme absolu. Chaque détail de la chambre est un émerveillement, et en prime : le matelas le plus confortable du monde. Allez y les yeux fermés !
