We were a bit aprehensive about holidaying here after reading all the mixed reviews. It was a last minute deal at this 3* Hotel. It's 20 minutes from the airport and that was on a coach transfer. The welcome from the Reception Staff was very warm and efficient. The lifts were both working whilst we were there but they were both a bit slow in arriving. We were only on the 3rd floor so we did walk up and down most days. The room had 2 double beds and was very clean. The room was cleaned everyday and we were given fresh towels. The meals were of a good standard and there was always a large variety to choose from. We did hear people complain about the food, but really couldn't understand why as we never found anything wrong. At breakfast the chef was on hand to make omlettes and cook fresh eggs. There were cereals, fruit juice, full cooked breakfast, cheeses, meats, breads, croissants etc. At lunchtime they would cook burgers, steak or sausage and of an evening they would cook steak and chicken. There was always a pasta dish, chips, salad, fresh cooked baguettes and a selection of cooked meats. (See photos) The pool was absolutely freezing but perhaps that was just due to it being October. The entertainment staff were coming to the end of their season but still did a great job. Simon was really friendly and took time out during the day to sit and chat with people. The Jet 2 Rep Phillip was brilliant and very knowledgeable on the area. He gave us plenty of tips even though we didn't book any trips with him. The bar staff were brilliant. Juan was so friendly and went out of his way to help people who wanted to improve their Spanish. He made such an effort with his Fancy Dress costumes all week as they were celebrating Halloween. If you like wine the ones they serve are of a good quality . The rooftop bar was closed due to it being so.late in the eason, but both the jacuzzis were on and the sunbeds, chairs and tables were out for use. The views from the rooftop terrace are beautiful. The terrace itself looked like it had recently been updated . I liked the fact that the pool area didn't open until 10am as that stopped people putting towels on the sunbeds then going out for the day. There were plenty of sunbeds out and several more stacked at the side if needed. We never struggled to get a sunbed in the sun. The temperatures were up to 27° some days and that was mid October. There are a couple of beaches within walking distance and the main town is a 10 minute walk which you can do along the shore line walkway. We wouldn't hesitate to return and would describe the hotel as being top end of its 3 stars.

Stayed for a week in August, easy check in with multilingual staff. Had to pay 80 euro deposit which we did not know about prior to arrival but this was returned when we departed. Pleased with room and amenities- microwave, fridge, hobs, kettle, cutlery and more. Plenty of towels were provided and room changed twice a week. Had a really nice balcony. Beds were comfortable including the sofa bed, all staff friendly including at the bar and adjacent restaurant. 2 Convenient lifts to use which was great. There are Supermarkets, restaurants and beach all just a short walk away. Air con was included which is not always the case with other hotels. Would stay again, thank you 😊

My husband and I had a week away from Barcelona staying at this adults only hotel. The reception staff were all friendly but especially Bea who was extremely helpful with things to go and see whilst we were here as the weather was not the best. Rooms were really nice, clean and tidy, with comfortable beds, but the pillows not so comfy. Could have done with a table on the balcony too. Breakfast was a good choice with the option to order freshly cooked too and the staff were friendly and kept the place ticking over nicely. The spa was a bit of a disappointment as it only has steam room and sauna and a jacuzzi for 8 people, so we only used once and the games room was not available durin the week due to conference. Fortunately we had our own cards and dominoes. Overall a good visit to Salou, where we visited Cambrils, Tarragona, Reus and Sama Park out of tourist season. I am sure it would be buzzing come Easter onwards. Thanks to the Magnolia Team for the great overall service.

We have been staying at this hotel for almost 8 years now. The pool area is beautiful and the location is ideal for us. The staff are fantastic, we always get such a lovely welcome whenever we arrive. We arrived at the hotel one week after they re-opened for the season and were very surprised to find out how busy they already were. I have never seen such queues for the restaurant in all my years. They have started a new policy of personally seating everyone before returning to assist the next people in the queue, this has definitely had an affect on the growing queue system. I think they either need to add more seating in the restaurant to deal with the volume of people or extend the breakfast and dinner times, which may reduce the queue issue. If it's this busy in My, I dread to think what it will be like in July! The food was just okay, definitely not worth the 30 minute wait to get into the restaurant, and then further queues for the grilling and omelette station when you get in there! They have stopped doing the fresh orange juice, the speciality (themed) section and the food truck which is disappointing (this might have something to do with it being low season). When I was there in October, there were quite a few things broken, tiles, bathroom doors etc which is expected after a busy season but I was surprised to see that these things were still not fixed while they were closed. There have been a lot of staff changes throughout they years, it's always sad to see some of your favourite staff leave but its great to meet the new staff too. We found out that a lot of last years animation team like Dani, Arian and Julio were moved to their sister hotel across the road so we did sneak over there a few times to say hi. The hotel itself is a great and it is fantastic value for money but it's just not what it used to be. It certainly has the potential to be the number 1 family hotel in Salou again but the rooms need to be upgraded, improve the layout of the restaurant and add more tables, they should bring back the themed nights in the restaurant, bring back the special treat stall outside the restaurant when you are leaving (popcorn/candyfloss, sweets, chocolate fountain etc). It's the little extras that can make a nice stay a fantastic one.

Good location to shops, beach & restaurants. The hotel itself was clean & pleasant. Breakfast was good selection. Beds are a little to hard so was fine for short visit but wouldn’t recommend for long period. The worst was having no control over air conditioning, I appreciate it is April but we should be able to control our own temperature & it was just hot air. Not overly comfortable sleeping with balcony door open but had to to get air. For that reason I wouldn’t return.

On Monday, March 7, we were staying with my family and I in this hotel and we had an incidence with the bathroom as it was fully attached, with all that it involves having children. With the aggravating of being almost morning (7 of the morning) , the two employees who attended us did it in a magistral way, resolving the problem in 10 minutes. The receptionist quickly gave us a room card that was empty for if we needed to get into the bathroom, at last it was not necessary to use it, but there is the detail. The cleaner in 5 minutes resolved the attack.

This is quite an innovative place, or at least it seems that way to me. The host, Xavi is a very good multi linguistic chappy and has created this place almost by himself. The rooms are super clean as is the entire building. There is a communal table and chairs downstairs and you can keep your food in a communal fridge, just mark it with your room number. It’s quite central, easy to get to and from anywhere from here in this busking and vibrant micro-city from here. Highly recommended, great value for money. Very deserving of its rating as 3rd best hotel in Tarragona.

A little bit of luck was sprinkled onto our major road trip to Spain, because finding this gem online made an amazing two days for our family! We were actually scheduled for one night but were so tickled pink that we extended another night. We came at the right time because the price was on point and it wasn't too busy. This could easily be a five star place if there was attention to detail. By that, I can think of a few main points during our stay that just need to be addressed...1) instead of the hassle and delay at checkout, it would have been more customer friendly to have us pay the tourist tax fee for the extra day when we extended our stay and paid for it at check-in. (2.) The pool area is beautiful and obviously takes a lot of time and expense, but it was very obvious that the tile work of the pool needs to be fixed and repaired in many areas. (3) as a tourist, the trash system was very unclear. There were possibilities to separate the glass from the regular trash in some areas on the grounds, but otherwise it looked like everything was just regular trash.....with there being so much plastic trash there should be the yellow container to dispose of plastic trash. With this points, I do want to express that this was a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend it to others. I enjoyed the morning workout/dance class that was offered, the playground and children's activities are amazing, pool area was very enjoyable and we appreciate that there was a lifeguard, the view from our room, amenities, easy parking, restaurant on site was appealing (but we cooked in our apartment instead). Thank you for an enjoyable experience near the Mediterranean!

GGuest UserOur family visited Salou in August and stayed in 2 apartments in Ona Suites. The apartments were clean and functional . Housekeeping came in during week to change towels and general tidy. Pool was very clean with life guard on duty all day. You can rent sunbeds for a small charge , would be good if there were umbrellas to rent too (might be something to consider) . The reception staff especially Aya was friendly and professional . Arranged late check out for a small fee as our flight was evening time . Close to beach and all the shops and supermarkets. Great location , clean , friendly reception staff . Will definitely be back .

Having seen this hotel whilst walking past on a previous holiday and reading the glowing reviews, we booked a 10 night stay at Olympus Palace and overall we had a great time. There are some huge pros, and unfortunately some cons to this hotel (as there is normally with any) and I'll try to list them all here. The Pros: Cleanliness: The hotel is IMMACULATE. I don't think I saw a speck of dust or dirt throughout my entire stay, they even mop the outside walkway every morning! Rooms are refreshed daily with clean bedding, fresh towels, bin emptied, floor mopped etc, and they do a fab job with this. Entertainment: There is a massive programme of various entertainment with something for everyone. Staff: All of the staff are so polite, friendly and welcoming. Check-in was a breeze, and they even let us have breakfast early on our check-out day as our coach was picking us up at 8am. They were also very helpful with arranging taxis and I'm certain that if we had needed anything else, they'd have been more than happy to help. Location: The location is AMAZING. Right on a main ***** of bars, restaurants and shops. Small supermarket opposite the hotel entrance and walk an extra 20 seconds for the larger MichaelAngelo supermarket which has everything. If you have kids, there's a mini fun park with games and rides open every evening right opposite the hotel and a large arcade next door. In-hotel Bars: The rooftop bar is gorgeous and amazing to sit at day or night. There's also a downstairs bar with both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff again, wonderful at both. In-Room TV: TV with plenty of international channels. HUGE TIP: If you come across a film or TV show that you know is originally in English, use the little speech bubble button on the remote and select Original Language and you'll get it in English - would be great to have known this at the start of our hol as it was rainy for a few days. The Cons (some are of course subjective) Noise (not an issue for us, but might be for you): If you prefer a quiet hotel, you will need to book a pool view room. Our room overlooked the main street which was no issue for us as we like the buzz (and people watching) but it is very loud with the hubbub of hundreds of people, repetitive noises from the arcade, the pub quiz/bingo across the road and the mini park until well after midnight. Food: We found the food to be lacklustre. This is of course subjective and there were some great options from time to time. Most nights it was mainly seafood dishes, some meat in a light sauce and some kind of out-there dishes like pigs feet. However, the cooked-to-order bit always has something tasty on like steak, tiger prawns, grilled chicken thighs etc. It should be noted that like most half/full board places, drinks aren't included with lunch or dinner. At breakfast, however, there is free fruit juice, water and champagne. Unfortunately on my last day, I was served half raw sausages. Thankfully they were very cle

GGuest UserWhere do I start….We visited El Paso around 9 years ago prior to having children with my family and we all had an excellent holiday! So I didn’t have any apprehensions about booking early this year to take my 2 children (3 & 1) . As it got closer to the time I saw some reviews and started to panic as we hadn’t had a bad word to say about the hotel but wondered had it gone down hill?? Needless to say we went with an open mind and there was no need for any worry at all!! One of the only reasons I haven’t given 5 stars was the check in. We arrived at 11am and check in took my husband around an hour (I think this was more other people maybe faffing around a bit as when he actually got to the counter he was there 5 minutes and it was done) but it took us 3 separate occasions of going up to ask if the room was ready at 3pm before we could actually get in. There are lockers you can put you’re luggage in for €10 but there was no way ours would of fit in 1 so we didn’t fancy spending €20 !! So we hung around the reception for 4 hours (a beautiful reception) but with 2 children we found we were having to juggle one person staying with the luggage and the other entertaining the children. Check in aside the rest of the holiday was all we could of asked for! Room : We had requested a quiet room and we had been put the other side of the pool away from all the bars which was perfect…the room was beautiful. Bunk beds for our 3year old which he loved (although the top bunk is not safe for a younger child as the side very easily comes off!) but this didn’t effect us as we had a cot for our 1 year old. The room has everything you would need for a holiday..storage, bathroom, comfy bed and a balcony. The only downside was there were a few schools visiting when we were there and they had placed them in the same block as us so it definatley wasn’t a quiet room ! You could hear the teachers trying to keep them quiet at 11pm at night but it’s not great when you have young children trying to sleep…maybe the hotel should have a separate block if they know they are going to have a lot of school children in??? Pool : the pool is a absolutley huge and very clean. The water is a perfect crystal blue! The pirate shop was a firm favourite for our little boy. Although they are a little strict with allowing sunglasses in the pool (you need them as it’s so bright haha!) the lifeguards make you feel very safe. There is a vast area of sand around the pool which is perfect for the children to play in….(actually made ours happy enough that he thought he’d been to the beach so we didn’t have to venture to Salou!) Food : I saw a lot of reviews with people complaining about the food. We didn’t have a problem at all. Yes it can be samey, but considering they have such a large demographic to cater for I think they do very well with what they do have! You can always find something to eat. It’s typical all inclusive food. When you check in they give you a QR CODE to select a time fo

A really nice hotel in a fantastic location however a couple of wee tweaks and I would give it 5 stars. Good points - location, modern and clean. Rooms very bright and clean however we did have an issue with the shower gel not being replenished, despite leaving hints for the maid who tended to do our room about 3.30pm / 4pm in the afternoon so we couldn't always find her. Also, forgot to leave us towels one day. Good variety of pools that would suit everyone. Personally, we loved the roof top pool, view was amazing and very friendly bar staff. Now for the, could do better point - has to be the restaurant. We were half board and food was ok, not the best we've ever had. Restaurant layout and opening hours definitely need to be reviewed to combat the queues. Breakfast - decent choice of food but they need to adjust the layout and move the cold food i.e meats & cheese and bread away from the hot food area as having them all in the one area caused terrible queues. Tables were not cleared quickly enough apart from one morning when I was caught in the queue with around 25 + folk in front of me and by the time I returned with my breakfast selection, my table had been cleared despite putting my orange juice & glass of water on table. Dinner - I totally agree that the 7.30pm opening is too late and 6.30pm would be better to allow those who like to dine early to attend the restaurant and help reduce the queues. On the first night we made the mistake of going to the restaurant at 7.45pm and there was a queue to get in as well as a massive queue of folk trying to access the food, Tables were in short supply and again food layout appeared to create queuing . By tweaking the opening hours and layout I'm sure that the queues could be reduced and help make it a pleasant experience which sadly it wasn't in it's current state. My tip - go later at 8.20pm/8.30pm. Would I return? Absolutely, but without the changes would probably book bed & Breakfast only.

MMarc GaldonFerrerGreat option to stay if you want to visit Port Aventura amusement park. Staying for the night at the hotel will grant you access to the park on both days, the check-in and the check-out. Rooms are clean and comfortable, for a good rest after spending the day at the park. The swimming pool is also amazing, big and beautiful, it is an adventure in itself. Only issue is the service: you can feel that the staff do their best, however during peak season, they are so busy that for sure you will have to line up in order to get anything done. They are moving ahead and making moves for automatic self-service processes: like self- check out, but still is not enough. You gotta then have some patience and wait until your turn comes.

Oh god oh god oh god. First time iv ever made the effort to leave a review but this hell hole needs called out. I have a very low wage and so saving up £3000 to take my family on holiday took alot of effort and we very much were looking forward to it. However in a never ending S/show of ways the hotel made our time depressing. Firstly, this is barely a 3 star as the food is repetitive, very little choice and of a poor standard unless you are needing a door wedge in which case the so called pizza will do the job. The rooms are not cleaned properly - wear flip flops in room or prepare for black feet! The beer is fine, wine is disgusting and cocktails are a total joke. If you book an apartment prepare to have a fight on your hands. The apartment will have no plates, pots, cutlery, toaster, kettle etc. I had to ask for 3 days to get them to bring these things. When they eventually did there was no kettle. I asked where it was and was told they have 1 kettle for all the apartments and they can't find it. (You couldn't write this stuff) If it's to be raining on your trip then don't forget to wear your rubber ring and wings to the dining hall as you can enjoy feeling like your in a scene from Titanic. Literally the whole hall was swimming with water gushing in from every crevice as you try to eat while the lovely staff walk around you with mops laughing about it. When I say lovely staff that was sarcasm. I'm not saying all as there are a few lovely ones but about 85% are rude to a point it's actually comical. Plenty of other issues but I'll finish up on this one as it annoyed me the most and I'll also tell you how to fix it. If you are all inclusive you will be looked as though you are a second class citizen. This is something iv never experienced before. Drinks will be filled up half way but the person next to you paying cash gets it up to the top. You will be given a tiny cup for your beer while the guy paying cash gets a pint size cup. When you ask to get the big cup (I'm a guy I deserve a pint on my holiday ffs) you will be told ”No!, you are all inclusive you get small cup. I seen lots of people upset about this but It was the last straw for me so if you get there and this is still going on do this. Go to reception and ask for the manager. He will arrive with a rubber spined smile asking if you are OK. Say no and lead him out to the pool bar infront of the staff who refused you and other customers waiting in line. Then in a loud voice say ”I have paid 3000 euro to be in your hotel, am I not good enough for a big cup?” He will have no way of answering this without making himself look bad. And if you say it loud enough other customers will join in with their disdain. The staff will look pissed off but that's how they always look. Do this nice an early on the holiday and you should get less attitude as they will not want to mess with you. Or if you can change hotel that's the by far the best bet!

GGuest UserIn general the hotel was nice, we arrived and it was quiet. We visited the spa which was nice and the hotel is in a great location (about a 5 minute walk from the beach front) and 25 minutes from the theme park. Food- the food in the restaurant was decent but quite repetitive. However, having said that there was always something to eat. The only downside here at the restaurant was the waiters took a long time to ask us what drinks we wanted, sometimes we would be half way through before being approached. Also, there should be a snack bar by the pool which is open to all inclusive guests however this wasn’t open at all during our stay which was disappointing as we liked to go for walks, so if we missed lunch we had to wait until 7.30 for dinner. Bar - the two male servers were brilliant. Very attentive, friendly and quick. There is a good selection of local spirits however, I was on the all inclusive and when I asked there was only one cocktail available plus sangria, there are more available but you have to pay. The only downside was I had an issue which I raised with reception who maybe through a language barrier didn’t really acknowledge. I have been here before, 8 years ago and the hotel itself has drastically improved. It does feel very spa like with the music and decor. The only issue we had was on our last night there must have been a late arrival and we could hear everything in the corridor and above which meant we couldn’t sleep until 4pm.

GGuest UserI'm usually quite fussy with cleanliness and although there were places for improvement the rooms was very pleasant and perfect for myself and 10 year old daughter. We were so pleased to have a double bed each. I desperately want to know which mattresses they use, I suffer with back problems but while at the hotel these were minimal, they were a lovely firm foam, surprisingly comfortable, I wish I'd taken a picture or looked at the brand! The plug on the bathroom sink was broken so the drain smell was a bit awful, I kept a soap filled sponge over it or it smelled eggy. There were hand soap, shower gel and shampoo provided, the hairdryer though small, worked well and the air conditioning was amazing, it cooled the room so well. The noise is a bit of an issue as mentioned in other reviews, the chairs and furniture dragging on the floors especially and even with the balcony door closed, it sounded like a window was slightly open. We both got a very good night's sleep though despite the noise because the entertainment finished by 11pm things settled around 12am. We stayed on the 5th floor over looking the pool. Food was awful for us on the first night, however breakfast there is something for everyone, and the following evening meals I myself found delicious. My daughter consumed a lot of chips bit she's a very fussy eater. She enjoyed the pasta most evenings and the desserts - especially the rice pudding, that is a stunning dish! The stew like dishes I throughly enjoyed. The Spa wasn't up to much and you have to buy a swimming cap to enter which isn't made very clear until you are told at €3 each. Best tips: queue for dinner at 6:45pm, there are very long queues some nights. Get to the pool reasonably early, the beds get taken quickly if they're in the sun. Use the stairs to come down and the lifts to go up if you can. The lifts can get very busy and while they didn't break down while we were there, they do feel like a bit of a death trap! They don't stop closing if you're in the way either. Location wise, this hotel is just fab. Its a 10 minute walk to portaventura and ferrari land, a 10 - 15 minute walk to the beach and its far enough away from the main ***** to stay away from the noise. We went at the end of October so probably out of season so maybe this helped with the noise. Overall pleasant, comfortable and I would stay again.

Hotel was ok rooms cleaned every day fresh towels etc. lift available if your on a higher floor check out 12 midday lots of sunbeds available all day the only downside for me was the food the hotel caters for Spanish and Portuguese guests only one other British family here and the other guests I found rude it was just me and my 6 year old daughter and they had no issues pushing her out of the way to get there pig cheek stew food lukewarm breakfast 2 cereal choices bacon hotdog sausage and beans with some pastries and cold meats lunch pasta chips and some meat dish mainly turkey pig cheeks duck while we was there the worst was evening meal by far starts at 1930 we went down about 1945 and had to wait 30 mins for a table a good point was it's located right in the town but there is quite a steep hill to the hotel so consider this if you have issues with mobility overall ok for the price but I do think there would be better hotels in the price range for British families/ couples etc
